The government has assigned new tasks to the Public Health Agency and the Inspection Authority for Care and Welfare to strengthen healthcare's efforts in preventing and managing risks of violence Special emphasis is placed on specialized psychiatry where risk assessments aim to become more accurate and cooperation between authorities is improved The work is linked to the strategy against men's violence toward women and an upcoming long-term zero vision It is a ten-year strategy aimed at advancing freedom from oppression and ending violence against women Yes it's an ongoing effort that I'll return to this spring involving both knowledge-enhancing initiatives and touching on the zero vision At the same time the government wants to develop new forms of care that fall between voluntary care and compulsory institutional care in order to prevent serious incidents earlier Anyone who needs compulsory care and cannot reasonably look after themselves should obviously receive it Well it's strange that there's nothing in between fully voluntary care and round-the-clock compulsory psychiatric care There we aim to refine the relationship between them So you might be required to take your medication for instance without necessarily having to be fully enrolled in psychiatric outpatient care It could be a good interim solution since that's often where the breakdown happens—people stop taking their medication discontinue their care visits and eventually end up in complete chaos That’s where we must gain access for closed psychiatric involuntary care—this is something we need to develop
