What up, Coach Josh here from Colossus Fitness, your form expert and today I'm going to show you
one exercise I help my clients with a lot to really get an amazing bicep peak and that is
a behind the body cable curl. So we're going to jump right into it. So for the setup for this
movement you want the cables all the way to the bottom here. As you can see we got going on equal
on both sides. You could do these unilaterally but I recommend doing them together. It's just
a great motion and a great once again contraction for the long head of the bicep. From here you're
going to go ahead and quite simply grab your cables. Where a lot of people go wrong is they
just do it in here. This is not what we want. What we want to do is take a couple steps out.
I recommend about two. You want this drag on your biceps. So what we're going to do is make
sure we're not shrugging. We're actually going to retract our scapula, drop our shoulders.
From here you're going to tilt your chest a little bit and where people go wrong a lot in this
movement is they'll just end up curling up like this. This is going to re-engage and activate
our shoulder. We're trying to work our biceps. So instead you want to keep those arms behind you,
that chest low and from here you can see I can actually get a massive full range of motion.
Almost more than you can normally do with the dumbbell. I'm going to drop these down before
my elbow locks out with control right to this point. I'm going to come up, squeeze with purpose,
drop right down right before I get to that contraction. Come up, big squeeze here. Don't
let your elbows sneak too far ahead and that quite simply is how you do the behind the body cable
curl. It's an amazing movement. Like I said I love helping my clients with this. If you're struggling
with your forearm and you're fixing your forearm, you're not seeing results, it's possible there's
other levers you're missing out. Like nutrition, an amazing routine and I can help you with all
that. If you want to learn more about how you can work with me one-on-one and get amazing results,
