Hello everyone and welcome to a new episode of Easy Italian
Today is Saturday we're at the park and there are lots of people around
So we ask Italians what makes them happy Let's go
What makes you happy
The sea When I go to the sea I can relax and stop thinking about anything
It makes me happy to hang out with my friends go to parties watch movies and spend time together
And you What makes you happy
Being outdoors sunshine good weather and spending time with friends
They make me happy—human relationships in general so friendship love and connections
Typically I find happiness in connection in these moments of sharing
Just a smile in the morning is
enough for me Are there any other things
Enjoy the sunny days even though the weather feels a bit off today
Spending time with the people I care about and achieving fulfillment both professionally and personally
Do you feel like you're spending enough time with the people who make you happy
Yes even this time I wish I had more of it because I'm so caught up in everything I need to do that I sometimes lose touch with how I truly feel
There are times when I'd really like to spend more time with my friends the people I care about and my family
Do you think Italians are a happy people
In my opinion yes—they're sunny always eager to try new things and spend time with others
It depends on the region of Italy but generally yes
Yes on average especially in the south where people work less and have more access to things like the sea and the opportunity to relax a bit more
Yes let's say this country is gradually losing focus on various matters
Starting with politicians who shove ideas into our heads there are other aspects—let's call them the flip side—that actually free our attention
In a sense whether it's sports or grabbing a beer with friends there are so many things that make our days a little easier
Still overall they know how to enjoy life and find happiness even when the economic situation isn't ideal
Absolutely yes in the sense that we're very appreciative and have the ability to rediscover happiness in life's little things
And yet we're still advantaged by the cuisine the flavors and the landscapes because Italy is a country offering a wide variety of stunning inspiring scenery
Many people I spoke with today said they believe Italians are happier than other peoples
What do you think makes them say that
Maybe that's why we enjoy life so much—perhaps as one might say we lighten the mood and take everything with a laugh That might be what sets us apart from everyone else
If you could change one thing in your life to become happier what would it be
I'd add an extra day to the week
I agree Maybe the
city where I live And
where would you like to
live By the sea
I'd like to have a day that lasts longer more hours available for
leisure Get out of unhealthy relationships and maybe work less
At this stage of my life working less certainly means having more room for relationships and pursuing my interests
Even if you disconnect me I’ll still be in a park like this today
Focus less on doing and more on feeling
I'm someone who's content with little and finds the good in every small thing
So I'll keep it just as it is The world is beautiful because of its diversity
Now I'm here with Matteo who usually stands
on the other side of the camera What makes you happy
Definitely coffee in the morning then the people in my life
Not in that order though—people come before coffee
Yes of course—the family friends languages and my work which I love so much
And what makes you happy
But certainly the sea which I miss so much here in Milan
Then breakfast including coffee and evenings with friends
Oh and then we forgot the most
important thing—food Oh yes of course
Now that we're talking about things that make us happy
we wanted to take a moment to tell you about a new Italian course we've created
It's called Real Italian and it teaches grammar and conversation through real-life stories
