Yangzi Liu vs Sabine Winter | WS R32 | #WTTChongqing 2026

Good push from Yang Tze Liu, but couldn't put the cherry on top there. The recovery from Yang Tze. She comes out on top too. Now she looks fully fit again, she was jogging up and down just before this matchup began. Woman with many hobbies, mountaineering, juggling, squat shot, good feeling, good improv from Vinta. Yeah, this is where Vinta's so good, but the length was perfect. Oh, what a performance there from Yang Tze Liu. And as soon as she wins the game, she says, calm down. She's really come to play, hasn't she? Let's hold our horses here because it's early doors. She knows to stay grounded here. The struggle to serving, but it has to have the surprise factor from Vinta. Oh, that's amazing. Breaking the pattern, dialed in stuff there from Yang Tze. A good return from Vinta. Best anti-spin player on the planet. Great receive from Vinta though, prods it. There were mixed emotions after that incredible campaign. And that's what's making the short forehand. Oh, ferocious. Vinta hasn't played as many hints. Oh, going to have to do the best stuff since she changed. Yang Tze is confident and she punches for the win. Vinta has been dragged down to the depths of despair. Vinta has a mountainous task ahead. Sensational. Oh, still table there. There it is, but again into the crossover from Yang Tze. Look at the athleticism of Vinta. The Oceania Cup in Christchurch. Did brilliantly there. Defeating her teammate. It's been the combinations that she's played, the placement. The women's singles first round here in Chongqing. Are we about to lose the other? 5-8. Oh, that one was there for the taking. It sat up like a child in a high chair. Cancer Leo serves. She wasn't going to miss that one. 7-9. Barrier. She's just not looked confident in the weight before. But it was there. And the world number 11 has leveled. She's got the serve success on her hand. Can she finish it? Oh, her eyes lit up. Sabina Vinta's bread and butter doesn't last. It's a dream day for Team Australia. Yang Tze Liu has just knocked out the world number 11. One of the storied stars of world table tennis, Sabina Vinta has bowed out in straight games. And Yang Tze Liu, just like Nicolas Slum, has beaten one of the best players in Europe. And she's through to the round of 16 here.
