Girl Scout Day is observed annually on March 12.
This day commemorates the anniversary of the first Girl Scout troop meeting of the United States, which took place in 1912.
It served as a centerpiece of Girl Scout Week, focusing on the empowerment of young women through leadership, development, community service, and outdoor adventure.
Girl Scouts of all ages recite and live by the ideals listed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law, which I will recite.
They remind us to do our best in being kind to others, respecting ourselves, making the world a better place, and so much more.
The Girl Scout Promise, on my honor, I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law, which is as follows.
I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do,
and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
These aren't just words Girl Scouts say, they're words that they live by.
As a proud former Girl Scout, I move for adoption.
