Dang Qiu vs Manav Thakkar | MS R32 | #WTTChongqing 2026

And this is some fans in the house for the German. And this, for me, is what Manav Thakkar has started. And there's the float serve. He takes a slender lead. He's powering, he lost eventually 14-12. But it's just that efficiency right now. Dong Cho, he's had success here to take the opener. And he does it with a blistering forehand cross-court. German efficiency so far. Right back at you. Oh, here we go. Player and coach, Jorg Roscoff, in the corner of Dong Cho. Yeah, the ball just flicking the edge. Sportsmanship from Thakkar. But it's his stranglehold over the Indian. And he does it at the first time of asking. Dong Cho is going 2-0 up here. A little bit fortunate. Compact, he can stay close to the table and counter at will. It's another flick of the net. It's another net that goes the way of the German. Close space of the German, just too strong at the moment. And we see it again there. The German. Sounded like a little flick. Brilliant forehand finish. Backspin on. This time, Dong Cho just says, I don't care what's on it, I'm gonna add five. Lead now, Dong Cho. And it's another point for the German where he stays. Wonderful fanning backhand that set these match points here, Dong Cho. And you hear the roar from the crowd as Dong Cho secures his route into the round of 16 with a comprehensive victory over a very dangerous Manav Thakkar. At times, just blistering power, but also the finesse, the short game, the beauty of table tennis is it's not always the one who hits hardest who wins.
