Hello everybody, welcome back to Ordinary Adventures.
Today we're boarding the Disney Adventure, Disney's biggest and boldest cruise ship yet.
And first impressions, it's very different.
In fact, it wasn't even originally built for Disney,
and many of the offerings were designed for the Asian market.
So today we're exploring the ship for the very first time
and trying to figure out what we think of it.
Is it Disney enough?
And more importantly, how's the food?
Wayne, come with us on this adventure.
So we are in Singapore and we're sailing out of the Marina Bay Cruise Terminal
and it is decked out for the Disney Adventure.
I'm so excited to get on.
I know, it doesn't feel real.
Like the time has finally come.
I can see the massive ship out the window.
We're about to board the Disney Adventure.
We're so excited to get on this ship.
It's so much bigger than any of the other Disney cruise ships
and it's going to be so different.
It's so strange getting on a new Disney cruise ship
and not being greeted by a grand haul.
That's because Disney didn't build this ship.
They bought it for pennies on the dollar from another cruise company.
So it's like going to be completely different than any other.
I don't know where we're supposed to go.
Whoa, oh my god, you can see the water slide up there.
There's like this little garden area.
What is happening?
Where am I?
We're hungry, we want to go grab some food
and we came across this touchscreen on the wall.
Yeah, I love that.
It's interactive and they got you covered over here.
So we're going to go to dining and lounges
and I think what we want to try right now is Cosmic Kebabs
and I have no idea where that is.
Get directions.
Okay, get direction.
Oh, okay.
Whoa, look at that.
Look at the little Mickey.
It's like telling you where to go.
Okay, so we want to go down to the other elevator bank it seems like
and then, oh, look at down here.
It's like Google Maps.
It like tells you to turn right, turn left.
That's so funny.
Like I said, this Disney ship is so much different than the other ships
and has seven themed lands.
They're kind of like neighborhoods.
We're headed to Discovery Reef, which is like Finding Nemo inspired
but to get there, we need to go through Disney's Imagination Garden
and this is, again, unlike anything we've seen on a Disney show.
Why is Groot in the tree?
Hi, oh my goodness.
Good to see you.
Where are we going?
Okay.
Oh my god.
Wow, I bet that's so pretty at night.
Okay, so Goofy was just out here.
That was fun.
We're in the garden area and if you look up in the trees,
there's a bunch of different Disney characters hidden in there.
Like I found Groot.
I found Chippendale.
I see Meeko.
I see Thumper.
And there's the first Disney castle at sea right behind you.
I cannot wait to see what this looks like at night.
It's going to be so pretty.
Oh, okay.
Bye, Goofy.
I love that Goofy's just out here like wandering around.
So this part of the ship kind of reminds me of Royal Caribbean Central Park
but instead of it being like a living, breathing park, it's kind of like a cartoon park.
Yeah, I don't think any of these flowers are real.
They look good though.
I think they're all fake.
I love the Sorcerer Mickey topiary.
So this bar is actually called the Garden Bar and the little seating area over here,
the lights are shaped like flowers and the little awnings over the tables,
they almost look like fairy wings.
That's so fun.
There's Tinkerbell's Garden Bar.
I hope there's like a Tinkerbell themed drink there.
In the Imagination Gardens, there's a performance venue outside
and this is where they do a bunch of the shows including the Sail Away show,
which is interesting because they don't have enough seating or capacity here
to have the whole ship.
It's such a big ship.
So they actually have to do multiple Sail Away shows.
So you could show up at whichever one you want.
We're going to go to the first one because that's the most exciting.
I bet I know exactly what you wished for.
What you all wished for.
For your dreams of adventure to come true.
All right, everyone.
Are you ready to set sail?
We're so glad you're here.
Setting sail on a holiday really is magical.
Especially when you're with family and friends.
That's right.
Here on board, your family and friends become our family.
So come on and join our family time.
In good times together.
With someone dear to your heart.
Finding love.
Planning a future.
Telling stories and laughing with friends.
And now that you're on board, the whole family's here.
We are so excited to have you here on board.
For the very first official Disney Adventure Cruise.
Will you all help us count down?
Yeah, me too.
We are back.
Where's fun?
Ready?
Four, three, two, one.
Adventure time.
Let's set sail.
On behalf of the entire crew of the adventure, welcome aboard.
See you around.
Happy sailings.
See you real soon.
Now go have an adventure.
I'm ready to set sail.
So it's only 1.15.
The ship doesn't sail away for many hours from now.
But they did the sail away party.
And it was interesting to see it on that smaller stage.
It's pretty much the same as the other ones.
Like on the treasure and the destiny and the wish.
There's a couple more characters.
Yeah, there were some different characters.
Like the genie was out there.
Miss Marvel.
So there was like some variation to it.
But I just love that song so much.
It got me pumped.
I like have so much respect for all the performers.
Because I am glistening.
I don't think I've ever sweat that much during a sail away party before.
Because I can feel my skin like burning off of me.
And that's my bad.
I need to go put on some more sunscreen.
Yeah, I thought we were going to be indoors today.
So I didn't...
Yeah.
But now we're going to go find our food.
Hopefully that's an indoor restaurant.
Did you notice there's garden view rooms?
And if you're on your veranda, you can actually watch the show from your balcony.
That's kind of cool.
Yeah.
Okay, let's go try to find the Discovery Reef.
Wow, so this is a totally different vibe than the gardens.
It's all obviously like Finding Nemo themed.
There's these giant sculptures with the characters.
And like, look at the lights.
They're like almost look like coral when we're underwater.
I'm sure this place looks amazing at night.
I know.
I can't wait to see the ship at night.
But this has a bunch of different quick serve restaurants.
The one that we're going to go to is called Cosmic Kebabs.
And this is basically themed to Ms. Marvel.
And it's very colorful.
There's murals all along the walls that look like they're straight out of a Marvel comic.
I love the ceiling.
It has the lamp on top of it.
It has the Ms. Marvel symbol.
And the food here smells so good.
I'm excited to eat.
So obviously in here, you can find kebabs.
You can find shawarma.
You can find gyros.
You can find all the accompaniments that come with it.
This is some of my favorite type of food.
So I told Peter we needed to come here first because it sounded so good.
And it looks just as good as it sounds.
Yeah, and it's like Chipotle style where you go up there and you just tell them what you want.
And they'll load it up for you.
And I couldn't help it.
I got almost everything on my plate.
I was like, one of those, one of those, one of those.
But we got ourselves a chicken shawarma and a lamb shawarma.
So I'm going to try the chicken one first.
So this is very similar to on some of the other Disney ships.
They serve this style of cuisine.
But I feel like this is elevated.
And there's like obviously way more choices here.
They have a whole section over there with different sauces.
They have spicy sauce.
They have garlic sauce.
Anything that you need.
So I got the lamb shawarma and I put the spicy sauce on top.
It's like hitting the spot right now.
Especially after us standing in the hot sun for like 30 minutes.
By the way, the thing that happens on this ship that doesn't happen on the other Disney ships.
There's so many passengers that you actually have to book your time to come to a quick serve restaurant.
It's very easy.
We didn't, we saw there was no sold out time.
So it was very easy.
You just got to kind of like reserve your time and then come at that time and then you can order.
But this is amazing.
We're a little bit thirsty.
So we're going to go into witching boba and brews.
And oh my god.
It's so neon in here.
This might be one of the coolest spaces I've ever seen on a Disney ship.
Yeah.
So here you can get boba drinks.
You can get smoothies.
You can get juices.
It's kind of like the juice bar on board.
It is an upcharge.
So you do have to pay extra.
Are my glasses going in here?
Yeah.
You fit in with the vibes in here.
This is an extra charge.
It's not included with your cruise fare.
But let's see if it's worth it.
I got the mystic tide matcha.
This has brown sugar boba and milk.
And it is a pretty big size.
The boba on the bottom are warm.
And I love the green packaging on here.
It's very peter coated.
And I think like it's supposed to be Ursula themed in there.
Yeah.
So what is, what is that?
Working with Ursula or what?
Of course.
Ursula called you up and was like, I need branding on my, my boba teas.
By the way, I saw an Ursula drink that we were going to have to go back and get later
in this cruise.
It looked amazing.
I know.
Yeah.
There's a lot of option in there.
We're going to have to come back and try something else for sure.
Oh, I did want to mention.
They give you a little loyalty card.
So when you order five of them, you get a free drink.
So we'll definitely do that.
So it's kind of like Cove Cafe.
Yeah.
I love that.
That's a nice touch.
Ooh, those bobas are good.
I never thought that I'd be on a Disney cruise in Asia, drinking a boba milk tea.
That is just like, so, so cool.
I love it.
This is really good matcha.
It's nice and creamy.
It doesn't have too strong of a green tea taste, just like the right amount.
And I feel like that brown sugar boba really helps balance out the flavor.
This might be my go-to.
I know you want to try other stuff on the menu, but like, I might just come back and
order this again and again and again.
I got myself a super fruit slushie.
The one I got is the Mermaid's Blue Kiss.
This has strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, and jasmine tea.
And they added on the black pearl brown sugar boba.
As they said, it's good that way.
So.
Yeah, they upsold you on the boba.
They're going to tell me it's the thing that's good.
I'm going to buy it.
This is a very refreshing, very smoothie.
It's good on this hot day.
And the bobas give it a little bit of a warm surprise when they suck up the straw.
A warm surprise.
Just what Ursula would have wanted.
This is hitting the spot right now.
I'm not sure if it's because it's so hot and this is cooling me down.
What are your thoughts on the ship so far?
So to be honest, I have to keep reminding myself that we're on a Disney cruise because
the ship is so different that it doesn't feel like your typical Disney cruise line ship.
And then I see like the Nemo statue or start hearing like the lo-fi Disney music.
And I'm like, oh yeah, I'm on a Disney ship.
It's just, it's very, very different.
And I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Right now I'm kind of like in the middle.
You know what I mean?
I don't know if I love it or if I don't love it.
I don't really know what to think.
It's just so different.
And my brain is like, where are you?
What is going on?
Yeah, even the boba place we just went to is run by a third party company.
It has like a different logo underneath it.
I've never seen that on a Disney ship before.
I am excited about the possibilities of the ship, but it's very strange.
Yeah, and we've only seen like one tenth of it.
Yeah, we haven't seen anything yet.
So we're slowly but surely making our way towards the back of the ship and we walked
by this beautiful Luca mosaic tile thing here.
It caught my attention.
It's so cool.
This is where some of the premium restaurants are.
There's Mike and Sully's and then there's the Palo Cafe and actual Palo is over here
too.
But the Palo Cafe is Luca inspired.
So that explains this beautiful mural.
Look at this.
I found a hidden Mickey right here.
I found my first duck.
A little teeny tiny duck with a Santa hat on.
Oh, what luck.
I found a cruising duck.
Oh, what luck.
It is a cruising duck.
I'm already amazed at all the little details like the Mike and Sully restaurant.
You can see all the monsters up in the windows above.
And then the plants look almost like monsters themselves.
Yeah, there's like little Venus fly traps.
Don't worry, they're fake.
They're not real.
I wanted to like stick my finger in one but they're not real.
We're gonna be eating here later in the cruise.
Yeah, I can't wait.
So we finally made our way to the very back of the ship.
This is called Wayfinder Bay and it's Moana themed and there's like the stadium seating
out here with all these plush chairs.
There's a giant bar and there's a little pool area that I think you could swim in during
the day but they also have Moana shows out here.
There's a giant jumbo screen as well.
So maybe they'll play movies out here or something.
I really don't know.
But this is definitely, definitely different.
It kind of reminds me of the back of the Royal Caribbean ships where they have the big aqua
theater except like a teeny tiny pool.
Right now we have a view of Singapore.
It's actually a pretty good view.
Yeah, a beautiful view of the skyline.
Look at this.
Hidden Mickey.
Yes, Hidden Mickey's in the carpet.
We are room number 13610.
We are on the port side and we have a balcony.
So let's check it out.
We made it.
Oh my god.
There's like a whole tea setup over here.
That's unique.
Look at that.
Yeah.
There's like a teapot.
Wow.
I've never seen that on a Disney.
Oh and it has that TWG tea.
That's like a special Singaporean tea.
Oh and they also have the baka coffee.
They have coffee.
I can make coffee in the room.
This is a first for a Disney cruise.
This room looks amazing but you know that we got to start with the bathrooms first on
our tour and I was actually very curious to see if this ship had a split bathroom situation
because like Peter said, Disney didn't build this ship.
They bought it from someone else and kind of retrofitted it but they do indeed have
a double bathroom.
So I wonder if they added that or if it was already like that.
Behind door number one is of course the toilet room and I got to say it is kind of
cramped in here.
It does feel a little bit smaller than a normal Disney cruise but there is your own
personal sink in here so if you need to brush your teeth or whatever, you will be separated
from the shower room.
So let's do the flush test.
This is a brand new ship so I expect it to be good.
I give it like a four out of five.
Yeah.
It's not the best I've ever seen.
Behind door number two is going to be the shower.
So let's, oh, different.
I'm just, the thing that I'm so excited about this ship is it's just so much different
than the other ones so as people who cruise Disney often, it's like so thrilling to have
something new, right?
Oh my god, the shower looks pretty big.
Yeah, the shower looks huge and it is like a glass door which is nice but there is no
tub.
I feel like normally on a Disney cruise, there's like a tub.
Oh yeah, that's usually in the smoke bath.
Yeah.
Interesting.
Is that the sea salt body lotion over there?
It is.
We got the sea salt.
We got the sea salt, everything.
The marine, sea marine and the sea salt.
I was actually very curious about that.
I was like, I hope they have the same shampoo and conditioner and they do.
Love that.
The sink seems pretty big.
It does seem pretty big.
They got the same signature Mickey Disney Cruise towel.
Yes, love to see it.
And to the other side here is the closet area.
Is this like a secret closet?
Okay, yeah.
So there's more like little storage things in here.
I love that.
I love a secret closet.
And then over here is the magnificent tea kettle and then the safe, I believe.
Is that what this is?
Oh, it's the whole drawer.
That's nice.
It's a big safe.
Yeah, a lot of the times you can't even like fit your computer in it so that's nice.
And then I guess this is the mini fridge, right?
Yeah, the question is, is there anything inside it?
I don't know.
Nope.
That looks pretty big though.
It seems like you could fit a lot of drinks in there.
Then there's a little drawer right at the very bottom.
Yeah, there's a head-to-toes mirror right here.
Yes.
Check your fit.
I don't want to look at myself right now.
I am very sweaty.
So the theme of our room is The Little Mermaid, which I love.
One of my favorites.
I'd say a top five Disney movie for me.
And the bed, I think, is the most important thing.
Is it going to be just as comfortable as a normal Disney Cruise mattress?
Do you think they spent the money on the mattresses
or we just have whatever mattresses were here before?
I don't know.
In Asia, they like their mattresses a little bit more firm.
I gotta say, upon first...
I mean, I really need to get a good night's sleep so we'll keep you updated
but it doesn't feel the same.
It feels harder to me.
Yeah.
And by the way, they have the same kind of mural that they have on the Witch Class ships,
which I like.
I like that it has like that pop of color behind the bed.
Yeah.
Then there's also some other artwork, like a drawing of Ariel.
What is this right here?
There's like a little Mickey head.
Is that a speaker?
Is it?
I think it's a speaker.
Oh, I thought it was like a pin board like you put your pins in or something.
I don't know.
Then, yeah, you can turn on all the lights and stuff
and there's some USBs and there isn't an American plug here
so you need to bring your travel adapter.
Thank God we've got some.
As you know, this cruise sails out of Singapore
and with international travel the question always is
how am I going to charge all my stuff?
And that's why I have Epica.
This is their Epica Air 40 watt universal travel charger.
You'll notice on most cruise cabins that there's limited US plugs
and usually one plug is international or EU outlet
and almost no one uses it.
Pro tip, bring an Epica international travel adapter
and bam, you have yourself another outlet.
I also, of course, use this in our Singapore hotel.
It's a five-in-one setup so I charge my phone, Apple Watch, camera batteries,
even my laptop in one spot.
Quick note though, it's a travel adapter, not a voltage converter
so that means it's good for dual voltage devices
like phone, a camera, a laptop.
And for my wallet, I'm using the Epica Taggy Slim Finder card.
Unlike an AirTag, it's actually flat and fits my wallet
or passport holder without making a weird bump
and it actually works with Apple Find My
and it has NFC tap to return
which means if my wallet unfortunately gets lost
the person who finds this just taps their phone to it
and they have access to my contact information to give it back to me.
The best part is this little card right here
has enough battery to last six to eight years, no recharging.
Yes, I said years.
Click on the link in the description below
and use our code for a limited time discount.
Thanks to Epica and now back to our adventure.
It looks like we have a plethora of gifts
and we'll get to that in a second.
I'm very excited for that
but over here is the TV and the little workstation or makeup station.
There's a mirror and there's a little stool
and it looks like the hairdryer is actually plugged into the wall down here
which I actually kind of like.
Yeah.
That makes it very, very handy
so I'll be sitting here and doing my hair every morning.
Then you have some drawers and a little pull-out table.
Oh, so you can bring it over to the couch to have some room service.
Yeah, so you could work over on the couch or you could work over here.
I heard the room service is different here.
They have pot stickers and stuff like that.
We never usually take advantage of the room service
and on a Disney cruise, it is included.
It's not an extra charge.
Obviously, you should probably tip
but I feel like this time we got to look at the menu and order all the special stuff.
Now it's time to check out our veranda.
We have a balcony here.
Okay, pretty normal looking veranda.
It's a decent size.
It's not like too small.
There's two chairs.
There's a little table
and we have a beautiful view right now of the Singapore harbor
with all the cargo ships out there.
There's a ton of cargo ships out here.
There's so many cargo ships here.
It makes me wonder how the adventure is going to navigate through them
to get out to the ocean.
But yeah, this is nice.
So we are on the maiden voyage of the Disney Adventure
and we paid for it all ourselves.
So this isn't a hosted media trip
but there is a bunch of gifts for the maiden voyage
and because of the Castaway Club.
So let's check them out.
First of all, I love this.
I'm assuming these are to wave as we leave the port for the first time.
I love that they provided these for us
and it says Disney Adventure on there.
And then of course like with any Disney cruise
you get a lanyard based on your status in the Castaway Club.
I am still gold.
Peter is now platinum so his is a different color
but it says Disney Adventure inaugural sailings.
And then another thing they usually get every cruise
is they give you like a wet dry bag.
Oh my god, this one's so different.
It has like fringe on it.
What the heck is going on here?
Okay, so I was wrong.
This isn't a wet dry bag.
This is like a little duffel bag.
And look at the patterns there.
It's like a different texture on the side
and then it has this fringe
and then it says inaugural sailings Castaway Club Adventure.
This is like so different.
What is the inside?
Oh yeah, I love that it has a zipper.
That's a nice little detail.
So it has a zipper and then you can put all your stuff in there.
It's a big bag.
Yeah.
This makes me so happy because I need to buy a bunch of souvenirs
and I don't have much space left in my suitcase.
So guess what?
Filling this up to the brim and bringing it on the airplane with me.
Okay, now this other stuff I don't think is the stuff you normally get.
I could be wrong.
Yeah, but what is all this stuff?
I don't know.
Let's start with the mini thing.
Yeah, so this is definitely unique.
It says Disney Adventure on it.
It has Mickey and Minnie and it's a little mini fan
because it's so freaking hot here in Singapore.
This is so cool.
I can't believe we get like this little personal mini fan
that's branded Disney Adventure.
Even the strap has like a little Cruise Line logo on it.
That's cool.
Doesn't seem as powerful as their normal fans but...
We have these fans that we like to bring on our trips.
It's not quite as powerful but this is very handy.
I'm going to be keeping this in my purse.
Oh, this feels so good.
Give me a minute, hold on.
I'm guessing this is a water bottle or something like...
Oh, yes, I was correct.
This is nice.
It's kind of hefty.
It also says Castaway Club so this might also be a Castaway Club gift.
Yeah, they also gave us each a passport holder to put your passport in
and it says Disney Adventure on there.
That's nice.
A lot of people are going to be coming over here so that like totally makes sense.
Yeah, very...
I love a practical gift.
Yeah.
So this is a customizable magnet collection.
You color them yourself.
You have Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto.
Okay, where is Duffy?
Where's Chippendale?
Got some characters missing.
I'm gonna have to draw Chippendale and Duffy on the boat.
But I love that.
That's such a great idea.
Last but not least, looks like we have some champagne glasses.
I love these.
They're like spill proof.
They have a little lid on them.
Yeah.
So you could put them out on your balcony and not be scared to drop them.
I love the colors.
It's like an ombre and it does say Maiden Voyage on there.
That kid understood the assignment.
Stateroom game.
It's just as good as you might have expected.
Look at that.
That's so cool.
Where are you from?
Oh, they don't even have our option there.
You gotta put USA.
Why isn't this your stateroom?
I don't know.
I didn't prepare correctly.
So one thing that's really known about Disney ships is that soda is included in the price.
Usually you have to go up to the pool deck to get it from the soda fountains.
But here, so far we've seen them in Discovery Reef and Imagination Cove.
They actually have soda machines there.
I'm guessing they also have it up on the pool deck as well.
So there are some different flavors of soda on the Disney Adventure.
Most noticeably, there's Grape Fanta, which is amazing.
We were really hoping for melon, but grape is awesome.
There's this lemon tea.
There's an orange fruit drink, an apple fruit drink, and then Sprite and Coke and stuff.
But the Grape Fanta, just trust me.
Look at that.
It's like bright purple.
That's where it's at.
We've been drinking a lot of Grape Fanta on this trip.
It's so good.
Of course, they have a tea station as well with some boiling hot water.
And then they have this TWG brand of tea.
We also looked at our phones and everything's booked.
Yeah.
So you have to book meet and greets.
You have to book the shops.
It's all like digital reservations.
And as of right now, it could just be a glitch on the app.
Maybe they'll release more later.
I really don't know.
Everything is booked.
All the meet and greets, all the shops.
We've been looking on our phones since we got on the ship.
And there's been no information of like, oh, at this time,
these things are going to release and you'll have your chance to book your slot.
So I think it's just growing pains.
And we are the test dummies.
We're here on the maiden voyage.
And, you know.
I hope so.
So now the muster's over.
We're going to go to the pool deck and see if we can watch the sail lane.
Maybe get some drinks.
Yes.
Good news.
I already see more hot tubs on this ship than I do on the Wish Class ships.
I know.
There's two right in front of us.
This is unlike any Disney pool deck I've ever seen.
It does not feel like I'm on a Disney cruise right now.
It feels very Royal Caribbean.
It does.
I have to admit it's pretty crazy seeing a roller coaster track on a Disney cruise ship.
Yeah.
There's also like this Brute, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dumbo style spinner ride.
There's a go-kart ride.
And there is no like water coaster.
There's usually on all the other Disney ships,
there's some sort of water ride that circles the entire pool deck.
But this one is an actual roller coaster.
Yeah.
They were calling the Aquamouse the first attraction and saying it was a water.
It was a water slide.
I'm all for it.
The whole aft of the ship is themed to Marvel,
including an infinity pool themed to the infinity saga.
They even have the infinity bar where you can order drinks themed to the infinity gems themselves.
So, you know, we had to get ourselves a couple of cocktails
and all the cocktails on the menu are themed to the infinity stones.
I had to get myself the reality, which is themed to the reality stone.
This has mezcal, blueberries, lemon, agave, bitters and grenadine.
And the bartender behind the bar was doing all sorts of like show-offy skills.
It's pretty good.
And I also just noticed while we're sitting here
that there's a display with the infinity stones behind the bar.
Uh-oh.
Don't tell Thanos.
A pool bar that's actually themed.
I gotta appreciate that.
Is that the horn?
Yep.
I think we might be sailing away soon.
Yeah.
We came back here to watch the sail away.
So perfect timing.
That said, we only have time today to get two of the six infinity stone cocktails.
So we're about to come back.
Then we can do the snap and make half the passengers disappear
and then have a more empty ship.
Oh, that's like sweet.
It's sour.
It's a little bit smoky because of the mezcal.
It has a little bit of the bitters.
This is actually quite refreshing as well.
Wow.
Is Thanos on to something?
Definitely was.
I got the time cocktail.
This has Malibu rum, Midori, carousel, orange, pineapple, and coconut.
I'm surprised Peter didn't order this one because first of all, it's green.
It's got pineapple and it's got melon in it.
And I'm a sucker for Malibu rum because it reminds me of being on a cruise.
It kind of tastes like you're drinking a bottle of sunscreen, like in a good way though.
I'd probably give this like a four out of five.
It's a tad bit sweet for me.
But, you know, now I feel like the cruise has officially started.
And oh my God, we're actually like sailing away.
Oh my God, how exciting.
The cruise has begun.
Cheers.
Wait, if we clink them, is it gonna...
No.
We need all six, right?
6pm, we're going to our first night at dinner, the Rotational Dining.
They have six different restaurants.
Night is at the Hollywood Spotlight Club.
And I'm very interested to see what the food is like on an Asian Disney cruise.
How grand of an entrance is this?
This is something I was not expecting.
It's like I'm going to a Hollywood movie premiere.
Wow, this is a grand dining room right here.
I wasn't expecting all these windows.
Wow, we're at the very back of the ship.
Honey, they're playing our song.
So they're playing a jazzy version of A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,
which is our song together.
Because on our very first date, we went to Disneyland.
And we went to go see the preview for the Tomorrowland movie.
And this song was in the trailer.
And from then on, I was like, Peter, this is our song.
So I feel like that's got to be a good sign, right?
I love that they have a jazz version of it.
I know.
This is really, really cool.
I think the thing I'm most impressed with with this restaurant is its two floors.
I've never seen that in like a non-premium dining restaurant.
It's like very, very grand.
I was not expecting that at all.
Yeah, apparently there's gonna be a show on that stage right there.
So I'm excited to see that as well.
Looking over the menu, it seems like there's a mix of some stuff that I've seen on other ships
and then a bunch of new stuff.
There's even some Singaporean classics, like there's chicken rice, which I really want to try.
And there's an ube creme brulee.
How good does that sound?
Our friend Adrian pointed out that most of the tableware is from 1923,
as is a lot of the small plates, except for the mushrooms and the pumpkin soup.
Please welcome Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
Care to dance?
I'm ready to shine!
Everyone smiles at us!
Mickey, look!
It's Adam and Daisy!
You've got a friend in me!
One last time!
You've got a friend in me!
That's my new favorite restaurant.
I mean, that show was pretty awesome.
Yeah, that was pretty good.
The fact that the characters went out there and started singing, like, really got me.
The way that all of us girls at the table squealed.
Number one duck, number one.
You're the best singer.
That's what everybody was saying.
And dancer.
And dancer, yeah.
Mickey has nothing on you.
Minnie Mouse is behind me, guys.
Minnie Mouse is behind me.
We're seating here with our friends.
You look cute.
And the Street Duo.
They're in the middle of eating, so I'm ambushing them.
Oh, and Minnie!
Minnie, we saved you a spot!
Minnie, we have a spot for you right here!
Minnie, you are the best dancer and singer, better than Mickey!
Minnie!
Okay, okay, calm down.
I'm just trying to tell her that she's the best.
That's what you also told Donald.
Are you lying to everybody?
I don't know.
We're also here with Adrian.
Oh, yeah.
Theme Park Express.
Yeah, Theme Park Express.
For my appetizer, I got the Thai shrimp pumpkin soup.
This has coconut milk, coriander, and lemongrass.
This is so good.
It's a perfect blend of pumpkin and coconut.
Not spicy at all.
A little bit sweet.
Nice and creamy.
There's a bunch of shrimp in there.
I'd give this a four out of five.
For my appetizer, I ended up getting the sauteed mushrooms.
This has sesame artichoke puree, spinach, mushroom dashi, and citrus vinaigrette.
And these were so good.
If you like mushrooms, you're gonna like this dish.
It's creamy.
It's just perfect.
Pro tip.
These would be perfect on the steak that's also served at this restaurant.
I'm not sure if you can do that.
But maybe if you could, I invented that.
I'm the first person.
I'm a maiden voyage Disney cruise line hack.
Put them on the steak.
For my entree, I had to get the chicken rice.
This comes with sweet dark soy sauce, a ginger garlic sauce, and a chili sauce on the side.
This is a classic dish that you could get in Singapore.
And when we were in Singapore, I absolutely loved it.
It was like one of my favorite things that we tried on our entire trip.
And it's so simple.
So I'm wondering if Disney Cruise Line could do it justice.
Well, we got it at one of the best hawker stalls for it.
So yeah.
But can Chef Mickey make it better?
I don't know.
So obviously the one that we got in the hawker center in actual Singapore was better.
But this is surprisingly good.
I love the trio of sauces they give you.
One's a little bit spicy.
One is that soy sauce.
I like to mix them all together.
This is a nice dish.
Although, I will say I'm looking around at the table and everybody got something different
and it smells so good.
Like, I want to try every single thing.
And for my entree, I ended up getting the chicken tikka masala.
I've had chicken tikka masala so many times.
And when they brought over the plate, it was just the flatbread and the rice and the sauces
and no chicken.
I was like, did I order the right thing?
Is this... is chicken tikka masala the same thing here?
But then they brought over this metal dish with the chicken
and they served it on my plate.
Such a nice presentation.
This is honestly as good as the Indian food place near our house.
And it's just like a mild little bit of spice.
It's like not too spicy, but it does have some tingling on your tongue.
I like it.
I'd give it like a four to five peters.
Look at that.
That looks so greasy and good.
Oh my god.
That flatbread is way better than it needs to be.
You know, a lot of the crew on board is Indian.
So I'm guessing a lot of the chefs in the kitchen are also Indian.
I'm just shocked at this.
I'm going to raise my rating.
I agree with you.
Ordinary adventure stuff.
That is so good.
So good.
A little bit spicy.
Yeah, the spice is growing on me.
I said mild, but it might be a little bit higher than mild.
It's very authentic tasting.
I like it.
You say it loud enough.
You're always hungry cause it's the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Oh, it's what the Hollywood spotlight is all about.
And take a look around.
Easy to see.
This plot is full of Hollywood stars.
You're a star.
Yes.
You shine.
Like a star.
You don't have to look too hard.
It's all around and not too far.
If you're trying to figure out just who you are.
You're a star.
You know you're a work of art.
Even in the deepest dark.
Just who you are.
You're a star.
I'll say.
And now a toast to all of you.
On the count of three, everyone say, I'm a star.
Ready?
One, two, three.
I'm a star.
Cheers.
See you next time.
And never forget, you're a star.
For dessert, I ended up getting the ube creme brulee.
This has coconut biscotti.
And I'm not sure if this is showing up on camera, but it's purple.
Not like a satisfying crack.
That is amazing.
It's hard to describe because it, you know, has that like ube taste.
Like almost like a sweet potato-ish.
Five out of five.
Our entire table had it and they were all like, it's amazing.
And we're like, shut up.
We haven't even tried it yet.
And I'm going to verify it.
It's amazing.
Although it could have more crack, number five.
More crack.
We want more crack.
It does need more crack, but I think we just got a bad batch.
Crack wise.
But this is one of the best desserts I've ever had on DCL.
It's so good.
And we only got one to share.
I feel like I should have got my own.
Ordinary Adventure Galaxy.
Galaxy.
So our waiter came back and he actually brought us another one
because he saw the first one didn't have any fruit on top.
And I guess he felt bad about it.
Yeah, we didn't complain or say anything.
Yeah, but I'm glad now we have two of them.
And this one looks like it has more of a crack factor.
So let's see.
Slightly better.
But let's test it out with a little raspberry there.
I want to order this every night for dessert.
And you can do that.
Pro tip.
Yeah, you could order stuff from other restaurants if you're at a different restaurant.
This is incredible.
So good.
I am shocked at how good this main dining meal was.
This might be the best main dining meal I've had on a Disney cruise ship.
I think it is.
Everything was a winner and everything that everybody at our table got, they loved.
The show was great.
Yeah, the vibes in here.
This was a great first start.
It can only go up from here, right?
It can only go down from here.
Okay, well, I was trying to be optimistic.
So we're heading back out to Discovery Reef because we want to see what it looks like
during the nighttime.
Ooh, okay.
A lot of mood lighting out here.
I really feel like I'm under the sea.
So the vibes out here at night with the nice little breeze rolling through,
I feel like the music got a little bit quieter and more like vibey.
I like it out here.
It feels good.
I just want to come chill out here.
I almost wish that we got a room that was like facing this because it looks really nice.
Okay, well, we got to make it back to the garden because there's a character dance party.
Character dance party and we heard that Chip and Dale might be there.
So you know that we got to go.
I love these hallways with like the light bulbs.
Yeah.
Very Instagrammable.
Look at the castle.
It's all lit up.
Oh, this is so much better at nighttime.
Mainly because it's not bright and hot anymore, but like I love the lighting out here.
Oh my god, the stage.
Look at the stage.
Wait, is this where the dance party is?
Yeah, but it looks so cool at night.
It looks way better.
I feel like they should just do all the shows at night.
Nobody wants to watch them at like 1 p.m. during the day when it's super hot out.
They want to come out here when it's nice.
We've been to so many Disney dance parties over the years, usually at after dark events
and they're usually cute.
They're usually for the kids, but this was lit.
It was like a Disney rave.
It was insane.
Yeah, I thought we were going to come to this and I was gonna be like, oh, this is fun.
And I got so into it and they were out there dancing for like 30 to 45 minutes.
And it gave me such Tokyo Disney vibes because there's all these like grown adults with their
little stuffed animals going up to the characters like dancing with them and it just made me
so happy.
Like it gave me such a serotonin boost.
Can you imagine if they did that party with Duffy?
Like when Chippendale finally showed up, I freaked out.
They weren't out there long enough though.
And I know there's some people out there watching this and they're like making fun of the Disney
adults and whatever, but being here, it was just like so wholesome and so much fun.
And they do it multiple times per night, which is like they're doing another one at 1030.
Which is insane because usually Disney cruise ships kind of like shut down around like 9pm
really.
Yeah, and they're gonna have a rave at 1030 again.
Not only that, but like there's staterooms that face here.
So I'm wondering what that's like, but it's actually interesting.
A lot of the ships stays open later.
Like the ice cream stays open until midnight.
The pizza stays open until midnight.
Yeah, I don't know what to do with myself.
Normally I'm like in bed by 10pm, but now I want to go get ice cream.
Anyways, that was nuts.
You gotta go to this if you go on the adventure.
Just trust me.
Just go to at least one of them and just dance a little bit.
You know, let loose.
It's a good time.
I can't get over how this area transforms at night, including the Mickeytopiary.
It literally lights up.
His hat lights up.
His wand lights up.
And it is just so nice out here at night.
We just got some photos.
It was like a perfect photo.
Yeah, perfect photo op.
The colors are great.
The castle like all lit up in the background.
Did I mention the weather's nice right now?
It feels so good out here.
That does it for day one of our Disney adventure.
If you want to see us on other Disney cruise ships, put the blogs right over there.
I want to say thank you to some of our Patreons.
That includes Jay, Eric, and Kendall.
Thank you guys so much.
Thanks for watching everybody.
We'll see you on the next adventure.
