Good morning y'all. Welcome to day two of riding down the Baja. Today's gonna be an exciting day
because we are going to hit some dirt. Now I want to show you this cactus because look at this thing.
I have never felt a fuzzy cactus before. All these other plants out here, they want to kill you. That
fuzzy cactus, it loves you. So we're gonna take the Tenere 700 off-road for the first time today.
We're actually gonna be splitting up the group. I am going to be heading with our guide
on some sort of off-road trail that I don't know I guess is gonna be kind of sandy and well
sand to be honest isn't my favorite part of off-road riding but I am in the Baja so I have
to say I did expect a little sand. So far this tour has been just amazing and I gotta tell you
this is why you take a tour like this is because you can go and explore anywhere you want especially
in other countries and you'll probably get by just fine but having somebody that knows the best roads
the best restaurants the best places to sleep it cuts out a lot of the time finding and struggling
and looking and gives you the most enjoyable trip you can possibly have and that's why so far I've
absolutely loved riding with my friends here at Ride Adventure. In fact, I don't think I'm alone.
Let me ask one of my buddies here how he feels about the guided service so far. Give me the
skinny on the guided service. Fat and skinny is these guys have a serious passion for this and
they're the best of the best. They are good huh? Have no complaint. Highly recommend this outfit.
Yeah on what we're doing today this little off-road jaunt we're gonna do what should I be
expecting? Uh well let's say it's probably a level four so we'll call that uh intermediate
to advanced. Let's get these two wheels in some dirt. All right man we got a beautiful little
stop here I want to show you guys something cool. This is one of the things I love about getting
off in the nature is you find unique things like check this out old buildings to believe that
somebody you know lived on these roads out here in the middle of nowhere. I'm gonna go ahead and
step over this and give y'all a look inside. I'd have to say this would have been my bedroom.
Beautiful view all the way around. You gotta wonder what the story is and how somebody takes
the time and the energy to build this home out here in the middle of nowhere and then abandons
it. I don't see any type of well or plumbing. They've been living pretty primitively I believe.
Now that that was a badass ride. You think that's over the boots? I'll give it a shot.
How about this? I bet you this place just rages during Baja. So I guess the story goes the gentleman
who built this uh is from Tijuana and lived uh in Tijuana and was in the his family was in the bar
business there and he just kind of got sick of that scene which if you've ever been to Tijuana
you know what I'm talking about. So he got this land out in the middle of nowhere and he built
this resort and the way we took in is the easiest way to get to this resort. But it happened I guess
in the 60s about the same time the Baja racing started and it became an iconic place. If you're
into off-road motorcycles, side-by-side, Baja trucks, overlanding, this place is iconic. I'm
told it's an absolute must stop destination. You know there's been some amazing cookouts happening
over these two fire pits right here boy. Just standing here I can taste I can taste the flavors.
Comfortable partner? Are you comfortable? So he's telling me all this power is solar and a generator
for at night but everything else is ran by solar out here and this entire plantation. So I don't
do this very often but this was such a cool experience riding out here. I went ahead got
myself a Mike's Sky Ranch. This is my trophy for the crazy race I did out here with this guy.
It wouldn't be much of a race if we're being honest. It's the Baja 200 or maybe it's 250
but it's going down right now. This reminds me of the Rocky Point Rally just a little bit except
it's all off-road vehicles. So we are out here and I mean out here absolutely nowhere. In the desert I
mean just miles and miles in every direction but there it is. Coco's cold beer. I am not sure what
that is. Who can tell me what that is because I have absolutely no idea. Looks like we got a couple
of campers over here. I just love this all over Baja this is what you see man these stickers right
everybody stickers everything up and I brought no stickers with me this trip. The women have to
take off their panties and put them up there before they have a drink. So there you have it you have
all the panties. I don't know whose were those that's what I want to know. That's my sister.
So he says that is the first lady in 1991.
Took the panties off and started this tradition. What a life he's lived little man look at this.
So he said 150 Harley Davidsons rode by the other day and they didn't even stop to say hi.
So all my Harley riders out there next time you come down this route
you gotta be sure to stop and see my man here. Well so his this place used to be out on the old
highway when they paved the highway they built a new route they cut through the mountains so when
people started going through the highway they didn't go by his place. Oh so he moved here
still visit him and then they blew by.
Look how thick this book is people that come to visit him.
12 book. You got a lot of fans. Yeah he has as many signatures in there as we have followers.
But they've come to see you in person good for you excellent.
Okay let's check out the room. It's locked.
I can tell you it's gonna have a good view though because I'm peeking over this wall.
But how did y'all do in the sand? It was good. Is that my key?
The sunrise on the Sea of Cortez boy was that beautiful. I don't think I'll ever miss that
again. What a resort man. Beautiful building pool and hot tub and gorgeous gorgeous view. I mean
right on the ocean what more could you ask for. We had a few drinks at that cabana bar there last
night but not so many that I couldn't make it out to catch that sun. Gorgeous room beautiful shower
We are about to hit the road a couple hundred miles ahead of us. Los Venitos. Worth the stop?
Did you drop your bike yesterday? Twice. Two times? Yes in the sand. And how do you feel about it?
Great because my last exit off the bike was excellent. I'm getting better. An interesting
factoid the more you drop your bike the better you're gonna get at a dismount and being able to
save yourself from injury. So that's a plus of dropping your bike.
Was it as graceful as she's leading us to believe? It was pretty graceful yesterday. All right man.
You only get this kind of service with Ride Adventures. The fearless leader actually
cleaning my mirrors for me. You caught me. Y'all take good care of us. Oh the old sunscreen. Yeah
me and my stylist right now with his helmet hair.
We got dirt floors but still a beautiful restaurant. So all this stuff here you see
this that's cactus. All cactus. Look at that. This is the San Ignacio Mission.
If y'all want to read this you can pause your video. They found it 1716. 1716?
Could you imagine constructing something like this in 1728? No railings. Maria. This my friends
is what exploring is all about. Now this, this my friend is why you travel.
Welcome to Ride Adventures third night stay selection. We are at,
if you can pronounce that better than me, go for it. But that's where we're at and it's beautiful.
It's like this little oasis. Let's let's take a look. They got a full bar. They've got shade
and it's a palm tree oasis. I'm not sure where we're staying just yet but I can see water
peeking through over there. Let's take a look. Oh my god. Yes please. It could not be any better.
The lodging is just keeps getting better every day. We got a dang yurt. So mine is named
King and Neptunes and inside you've got a microwave, some art. It's a canvas ceiling
so it's like a cement yurt but the ceiling's canvas and the floors are all tile. Are you kidding me?
Just living it up. Wow. No flea bag motels. Every spot is just a little bit better than the next
and this may be my favorite spot of the entire trip. The further we go into Mexico the more
unique and traversed terrain we are experiencing. I expected the long desert flats but who knew
the mountainous roads would go so far down into the Baja Peninsula. This is truly a trip of a
lifetime and experiencing it with such talented and capable guides has certainly made best use of
the limited time we have to experience this beautiful country. If you haven't seen it yet
go back and check out episode one of Baja and Down and keep your eye out for episode three coming soon.
