After 4 years of Nomad life and living out of a suit case, I finally put down some roots. In today's video, I'm answering a few of your questions 🤗
0:00 Life Update 8:41 Q&A 9:07 How I’m doing 10:41 How do I see myself in 5 years 11:50 What was my first job 12:36 Do you miss Lucy from The Juicy Vlog? 13:38 How I manage life when everything is painful? 15:35 When I’m going back to the Philippines 17:07 Am I really happy now?
When are you coming back to the Philippines? I can answer that hopefully in a positive way.
You guys kind of like know my story. That was kind of like soul crushing. This is something
that I learned from my Filipino viewers. Everything I prayed for fell into place.
I couldn't be happier about how things worked out for me. Hello and officially welcome to my home.
I have kind of like a big announcement to make and this is very very special to me because
it's been four years since I had a home that belonged to me and I thought I'll do a little
Q&A today. Also give you this little announcement, life update to what's going on in my life and
it's exciting. So I just wanted to take you along and show you a little bit of my new home here.
It's not finished yet. We are doing some renovations but I'll show you the parts that
are kind of like already done. So this is my kitchen slash dining room that we have here.
It's not finished yet. There's a lot of things that need to be edited. So we will have some
cabinets on top. We will also have the wood a little bit darker so there's more contrast to
this one. We'll change the lampshades. We will put a beautiful carpet here to bring in a little bit
more of texture into the living room and just a little bit more contrast and it is pretty much a
blank canvas. We only have this one frame up and this vase here but other than that not much of
decoration happening here. But yeah I thought I'll do a whole series about how I source all the
decoration because there are so many expensive shops here in Bali and I know a place where they
have all of the items that you see at the shops that are one third of the price. So I'm going to
take you along on that journey and then also we definitely want to put some plants in the corners
also some plants outside so plant shopping it is for the plant Tita. And talking of decoration I
wanted to show you guys this beautiful beautiful art from my photographer friend Lucas. I'll put
his Instagram handle right here. He does some really stunning work and I just love this piece
as something that catches the eye. So this is pretty cool with like all of the shades and like
the way how everything is structured in the shot it's just so beautiful to look at. Yeah something
that I wanted to mention is how much it means to me that you guys responded so well to my Instagram
reel that went viral. I got three million views on it and I didn't think much of it when I uploaded it
but you guys kind of like know my story and you know the place where I'm coming from
and the life that I thought that I would have and then had to start over so that was kind of
like soul crushing. And it's been quite a journey since then and I also uploaded another reel that
kind of like is a response to one of the comments that I received to just explain why a home means
so much to me. And of course I know that home is not a place. I have lived in many places and felt
at home in so many spots but I have to say it makes such a big difference when you are with
the right people everything is falling into place you know what you've been through and then you
finally have some roots to put down and just feel a little bit more settled because the the nomad
lifestyle as much as I love it I have to say I want to slow down a little bit with the travel.
There will be still travel videos on here. I filmed quite a lot of content in the past few
weeks but maybe I'll transition a little bit more back into showing you more of my life because I
just feel like it resonates with so many people it's more relatable as well and maybe it's time
for a little pivot with my content as well because I focused so so much on travel content so I just
want to like sprinkle a few personal things in between so that we stay connected here. Let me
know in the comment section down below what you think about it if this is something that you would
be interested in or you say no I'm just here for the travel videos I'm super super curious to know
and I also thought it's time for a little life update and I asked you guys to send me in some
questions in form of a Q&A so that's what we're going to do today so I would say without further
ado let's do it but first things first coffee and you guys know I've been on the go for six months
and I worked from literally everywhere and somehow I still managed to publish a vlog in the past
and if you have been an OG viewer of the old vlogs you know how much I struggled to upload vlogs from
airports hotels mountains islands with bad internet and while it's fine to just use the phone to look
something up I really needed something a little bit better and more reliable to do the heavy
lifting of uploading big files and also coordinating with my team while working remotely
so before I left for my trip to New York I received this little helper the Roam 7 travel
router from TP-Link. I have quite a history with TP-Link as I have been using their routers for
years they are known to be the world's number one provider of wi-fi devices and the products are
highly recommended all the time by reputable tech media like The Verge, CNET and PCMA and I have to
admit I'm not the most tech-savvy girl but I managed to set it up in just a few minutes with
their step-to-step guide through the app this little thing is a power horse with a strong antenna
and also look how tiny it is it fits into the palm of my hand this is the size comparison to my phone
it fits easily into my bag and the best part for me is it works with my power bank which is perfect
when I don't have access to power outlets so yeah the Roam 7 is definitely coming with me on this
trip. My boyfriend and I have been working remotely this whole time during our travels and
every time we are at a hotel cafe or airport lounge we need to get access codes for every single
device and that's quite a few we have two laptops we have two phones and one company laptop as well
and to make things worse many hotels have slow internet and only allow two to three devices per
room and extra connections can cost around 20 dollars per day so the easiest solution for us
was to use the travel router and feather one of our phones to be able to go online with all of
our devices and you can even use the cable to connect it directly to the hotel internet it can
connect up to 90 devices so I can basically ask the whole hotel to jump onto my faster wi-fi
might do that and also whenever you see me posting on social media I'm probably sitting
at a cafe somewhere trying to upload content from that trip and unfortunately that comes with
some frustrations due to unreliable public wi-fi but I have my little helper with me it's making
the internet connection more stable it's avoiding constant drop-offs it's reducing the need to
reconnect multiple devices and minimizing repeated logins since the router auto connects even if you
are kicked out you only need to log in once which improves the overall experience also one thing
that I didn't know is that the room 7 has a vpn I'm sure you I don't have to explain the security
risks of connecting to public networks when you're logging into accounts or entering credit card
information on unfamiliar networks you basically expose your data to hackers with the integrated
vpn you are protected and you can access your favorite netflix shows in different countries by
just setting up your home country and you're all good and after testing this little device on my
trip I'm very happy with the travel router it has everything I need it's simple easy to use and it
is reliable and for what it offers this small gadget really hits the sweet spot between price
and features it's a nelly approved travel gadget if you want to get one for yourself check out the
description box down below I have linked it below as well and by the way all of my friends were
connected to this little thing here to have access to internet during our trip so I can
highly recommend when you're traveling in groups as well
all righty let's do this it has been a minute since our last Q&A and also this is the very
first Q&A that we are doing that is happening in my own home every single Q&A that I had before
was filmed somewhere else in someone else's home or a rental that I stayed at and now finally
this is my bedroom so yeah we're going to start off with some questions that you guys asked me
first question as always is how are you doing Nelly and I love that we're checking in with
each other because it's so so important I am doing so well I went to Mexico, stayed in Mexico for
three months maybe you saw the videos on my channel and something that I haven't really
publicly announced it or I haven't talked about is that I really struggled in the first two to
three weeks adapting to the new environment everything like different culture different
routines so I definitely needed some time to get used to it but once I figured everything out had
my own scooter had my gym had my routines met some new amazing people I really started loving it
however I am beyond happy to be back in Asia and I don't know how to say it but this is really where
I belong in my opinion so I don't know I lived in Bali for like four years by now and I always
love coming back and just being very like in my zen and at peace and just relaxed so the best part
about it is coming back and having a home here so that's something that makes me super super happy
and maybe you hear it in the background we have some construction going on still so hopefully
it's just a matter of a few days or maybe two weeks until everything is finished and then I'll
hopefully will do a full house tour or maybe take you along on the decoration hunt so yeah
definitely stay tuned subscribe if you're not subscribed and we'll jump into the next question
how do you see yourself in five years and I think I mentioned this before but I don't really plan
in like five years I maybe plan quarterly I have a rough plan of like what I want to do what I want
to achieve what my life should look like in the next few months but I definitely don't make a
life plan because so much changes and like I learned so much about myself that I just really
feel like I can't make a plan for the next five or ten years where I want to live what my life
should look like and so on I kind of like have a vision but it's not set in stone so I keep it
very like going with the flow and there's one thing that I know for sure I'm going to read it to you
I want to live by the ocean under the sun I want to be healthy surrounded by beautiful souls and
eating good food and enjoying life it's pretty simple for me so hopefully that gives you an idea
what my life will look like in five years and I think that's where I'm at right now and hopefully
it will stay the same way because it makes me really happy what was your first job and I think
I've never been asked this question on this channel before it's so funny I was like thinking about it
and I'm like oh I never mentioned it but I was a bartender at a bar in my hometown in Austria and I
used to work with my best friend during the time when I went to business school just to make some
money on the side and we definitely had a lot of fun it's a very demanding job so shout out to
everybody who works in the hospitality industry it is really really tough and putting on a smile
every day when you have to deal with people that are not always the friendliest but you still kind
of like show up kudos to you I've done it and it was good but it's not something that I could see
next question do you miss lucy every day yes I do lucy you are such a champ for those of you who
don't know lucy is a friend of mine that is part of another channel that is called
the juicy vlog it will pop up right here I traveled with her and her fiancé for five months straight
non-stop documented the whole journey and we kind of like grew our channels together
and then we decided to move to the Philippines and it was such an interesting journey to share
it with my closest friends especially also while we were going through covid and how we managed to
like go through it living in a foreign country and just adapting to the whole situation and I feel
like we've been through so much and grew so close that it became such a special friendship and I
just recently visited George and Lucy in England saw the little son Remy it was so heartwarming
and it was so beautiful to just spend some quality time together it is a very very special friendship
that I really appreciate a lot how do you manage when everything is painful so I guess how do you
manage life when everything is painful I've been there I know how it feels I know how paralyzed
you might feel when everything is crushing and everything is just feels so much harder and life
seems so unfair but let me just tell you this too shall pass this is something that I learned from
my Filipino viewers their resilience that they have is so admirable and I went through a very
very dark phase of my life where I just didn't even want to get out of bed I just wanted to
like quit it all and just say it like I don't want to deal with this anymore but what helped me
was a friend that said to me you're just going to wake up eat healthy workout sleep repeat so you
just focus on routines that keep you going first of all and then secondly definitely allow yourself
to feel the pain that you're feeling I feel like I've suppressed so much pain and I developed so
much anger and resistance inside me that at some point I was just like I need to like just
release and I did that and that helped me a lot I was meditated so that was my way of finding inner
peace I went to do some boxing to release anger that was very helpful but yeah definitely sit
with your pain and go through it feel all the feels and take it day by day and just focus on
really doing things that make you happy because at the end of the day all you need to do is just
take it one step at a time and it gets so much easier when you do things that make you happy so
hopefully that is some helpful advice for you but I can tell you from really like a lot of
challenging things that happened in the last few years that things will get better just aim to
next question when are you coming back to the Philippines and this is a very very often
asked question and I can answer that hopefully in a positive way I'm just going to say what is
currently happening in the background I was asked to go on a trip to the Philippines for a very
special project that is happening in just a few weeks and I said yes I'm available and I'm so
happy to go because the last time when I went to the Philippines I went to El Nido with my boyfriend
for our one year anniversary and that has been fantastic and he loved it so much and we're
nearing our two-year anniversary and like also just like a short amount of time so I'm super excited
for that but on this trip I'm going to be with some other creators that you might know so keeping
fingers crossed it pushes through the only thing that I don't know yet is that like it's not 100%
confirmed because there is a fuel crisis in the Philippines and maybe you read the headlines
people are literally walking to work because the fuel prices are just crazy there's not much
resources so I don't know if we will have issues with the transportation hopefully I will find out
on Monday and I also just read the recent news that there will be more supply for fuel so hopefully
we'll be able to go on that trip and it's going to be epic so epic and yeah definitely subscribe
if you aren't subscribed yet to follow along when I'm back in the Philippines and what do we have
what else do we have are you happier now I really hope you are if so what is different from before
and I can definitely say with so much confidence I am the happiest version I've been in my whole
life and so many things changed and I feel that everything I prayed for fell into place and my
prayers were heard so I don't know I couldn't be happier about how things worked out for me so yeah
definitely happier and what changed I'm going to read a few notes that I wrote down because it's a
lot definitely a lot of healing self-love finding inner peace and my passions more alignment which
is so important stronger boundaries definitely stronger boundaries also with toxic people and
then also just boundaries with my time and energy having the right people in my life very important
healthy routines more life than work that is I think one of the major things that I changed in
my life stronger connections maybe you saw it in my vlogs I love love love love connecting with my
friends all over the world I love meeting you guys so maybe maybe I'll do a meetup soon I'm
really craving a community that I can meet up with on a regular basis so let's see I definitely have
more confidence in myself and literally everything changed so my sister said I had a 180 and she's
very happy to see this version of myself and yeah I'm very happy about who I became as well so yeah
thank you so much for checking in let me know how you are what is going on in your life are you
traveling anywhere what are you currently going through let's connect I'm happy to respond in the
comment section and if there's anything that I haven't responded to in the Q&A that I received
on Instagram or Facebook definitely write it also in the comment section I'll do my best to answer
and yeah that was it short bit sweet I think I'll I'll see you guys on the next few travel vlogs
coming up very soon and yeah I'll see you
