Good morning guys from our new condo. First morning here, well first time waking up here.
I'm not going to count it as our first morning here yet because technically we've literally just
woken up and we're leaving straight away. We're spending no time here because we need to go to
our old condo and say some goodbyes, sort all the final bits out, get some storage boxes picked up,
get a final deep clean, get some sanitization done, meet the person that handles the unit for the
owner, hand the keys back, do a grocery run, go to the globe store and then we'll be back here for
our evening here. So it's another busy one, welcome back to the vlog, we hope you guys are doing well.
It's currently a state, like it's a mess but it's only a mess because we had to unload boxes
into here because basically we're just completely focused on the old condo right now and then we'll
be focusing on the new one once we're in ECQ which is tomorrow so it's the last day before ECQ today
for us. This is the current state, like it's a real mess but not that we've made it a mess, we've
just chucked everything on the floor if that makes sense and we're kind of trying to just live out
these suitcases for a sec. There's a load of kitchen stuff on the side, I mean we've got a ton
of stuff, it's basically everything we own is just out right now. We've got some stuff here, these are
the boxes to take back, got some stuff here, got some stuff down here so it's gonna look good soon.
Got like a makeshift desk set up for now because we haven't managed to sort that yet but it's good,
it's good, it feels good to be here. Didn't sleep that well, I don't know why, maybe because it's a
new place and we haven't yet fitted the blinds for the bedroom so it's a little bit bright
and we're used to the blackout curtains but I think we'll get used to it, hopefully tonight we'll
sleep a bit better but yeah we need to go now because I think there's some cleaners at the
condo that are going to come and do a big clean for us as part of the requirement before we leave.
Yeah that's it, we'll catch you guys in a bit. Okay so the final hours in this apartment and
the team from Keeper Storage are here to help us. We decided to put some stuff in storage because we
want to be a little bit more minimalistic. You don't realise over two years of living in this
place you collect a lot of stuff. We want the new place to be clean and simple and fresh so
we decided to put a lot of the stuff that we hadn't even used or touched hidden away in cupboards,
on top of our wardrobe, hidden under the sofa, stuff like that into storage so we've had way
more than we thought to be honest. All these green boxes, 10 green boxes we filled that are
gonna go into storage for a little while. Keeper is actually really good, we researched the brand,
the reason we liked them was because everything is online, you get like an online portal.
And I think they take pictures of each box so you don't need to look through 10 boxes to find
one item, you'll be like oh it's in box number six or whatever. Yeah and you can access it all
from your phone, you do have to pay if you want to access your boxes but it's not too expensive
and you can access your stuff anytime. And they give you these big bins, we decided to go for
what package was it? Closet. They do all sorts of different sizes, we've got a closet
so we can fit I think 40 of these, we don't need 40 but I filled 10. So anyway
that is the next task, once all this stuff is gone. Oh yeah the Christmas tree for now.
So once these guys have taken all this stuff, this place really is empty and we can say goodbye,
sad times, it's a bittersweet day today. So we've got little QR codes here that they're
going to stick onto each box, take photos and then using the app we can access pictures at any time
and if I forget where these pair of trainers are I know it's in this box.
Okay literally this is it, apart from what's in the fridge, this is what we need to take back with
us today, the rest and the coffee machine. Of course don't forget the most important item in
this whole place, not that. So we're going to go and get the trolley now and load that into Jose,
we're also going to say goodbye to the guards quickly here in this building and the staff.
They're so nice here, they're so nice and we've been saying good morning, good evening,
like we've been speaking to them like every day for two years, it is two years right? What is it?
July? It's August, yeah exactly two years and then we're suddenly not going to see them anymore
which is kind of weird. So I don't think you can really go into buildings and just randomly
keep timing. They said that was a drill, we're good, they did warn us. George and Lucy are leaving!
Yay, how cute. That is nice, well done. I'm gonna take a picture,
right I'll put the lid back on now. We got you a leaving cake. For you,
for all the staff, you're welcome. It has a message on.
We'll miss you, thanks for everything. We're not leaving until later but we thought we'd do this
now. Thank you so much, thank you, take care.
Okay, day's, what's that blue dot? Oh it's on the box. Day's going quite well, I thought it was a
NASA logo, it looks like it doesn't it? I need coffee. We're wearing the same colour. I need
coffee. George is really angry because he hasn't had coffee and the coffee machine's been packed
away temporarily. I need coffee. And he hasn't stopped saying this for an hour. I need coffee.
Anyway, so if it's okay for you to stop saying that for like two minutes. Yeah sure,
just letting you know that I need coffee. So we did our final grocery run before ECQ.
Something else is in the boot I think, a live animal. It's in the back somewhere and we've
currently got some cleaners at the condo and we'll show you guys in a sec when we get back home.
So much going on at the moment. We've actually got the guys from Busy Bee back, you might remember
we've had them before. It's a favourite cleaners that we book here in Manila, they're really good.
They're the best, I think they're the best deep clean company. Yeah. They come and do
such a thorough job. It just feels so fresh in there afterwards. We've paid for some like
smaller cleans before where it's like one hour clean, like one person, but they're there like
two or three people every time for like three hours and they do a really good job. They do
sanitisation as well and also they're staying open during ECQ which is good to know if any of you
guys are interested in booking and they are remaining open so very handy. It was one of the main
things that we needed to get done before handing back the keys. Yeah, yeah and then we're meeting
the lady in an hour and a half to give back the keys so hopefully they'll almost be finished when
we get back home. We need to quickly run to Real Food to Arabica to pool and then pick up
stuff from the fridge freezer and the final stuff, go back to the... It's a lot isn't it? It is a lot. It's been
like this for five or six days. Yeah maybe nearly a week now. I feel like we haven't
watched any YouTube, we haven't watched any movies, we haven't chilled at all. I thought
there was a person at the window then. Oh yeah, what was that? They've gone now, it's an advert.
We haven't had much chill time which is fine because you know we need to do the things to
get into the new place but I'm looking forward to once we're settled in. Tonight's the night.
Oh tonight's the special night, pizza night. Yep. Wow, thank you so much. Thank you. This is
probably the cleanest, wow, I've ever seen this place. So Busy B have finished their job. Great
job, thank you so much. How long did that take? Like two, three hours? One hour. Wow, around two?
Yeah, so a lot of hard work goes into these cleans. As you can see this place is pretty
much spotless. Check the bedroom and you did the sanitisation? Yes sir. Amazing.
Oh this is like when we first moved in, this is crazy. Let's open these, they even cleaned
on the balcony. I'll just keep my mask on whilst they're here. Wow, balconies clean,
everything totally, totally spotless. Mirrors, mirrors are shiny. Wow, end of an era.
Thank you so much guys. Thank you. Thank you. This is it, this is the end of an era. We are about to
hand the keys back to our first ever condo here in the Philippines. This is the place we were
when we decided we wanted to live here. We've spent like a year of lockdown in here. It was
our base for some amazing trips around the country and around the rest of Asia. And every time we go
back to see our family in England, we'd come back here and we'd look forward to coming back to this
place. We love the area, we've got to know a load of neighbours and it's a very special place.
Just straightening the picture. It's a very special place to us, we're very sad to leave.
This view, oh my gosh, I kind of forgot we're missing this view. Oh man, this is emotional.
This is a really emotional day for us. I mean, I'm very excited about the new place. I'm more
excited about the new place than I am sad about this place. So I'm still like overall happy,
but it's still, I don't know, it's kind of surreal. It's a weird feeling. How many mornings
have we started the vlog with a weather check from this view? I filmed TikToks on this balcony.
This was our little haven during lockdown, having some fresh air on this balcony and there'd be a
little strip of sun about eight o'clock in the morning so I could stand there and get a bit of
sunlight. Man, this is crazy. We've watched typhoons roll in from this window. We heard a
huge tree crack down there when there was really bad winds. We've cooked some awesome food here.
We've had a million cups of coffees from this machine. We've uploaded countless vlogs on this
internet. We've watched a lot of TV, a lot of Netflix, a lot of movies from here.
Goodbye. Goodbye to this lovely condo. We'll miss you. So weird. A lot's happened here. We found
out we're having a baby on a sofa that's no longer here. That happened here. We found out that our
life was changing here. George hid the engagement ring under the bed. So weird. For those asking,
I'm not wearing it for the moving because I'm picking up boxes all day and I'm kind of nervous
to. And it's a little bit big so I want to get it resized so that it can not fall off when I'm
moving around. So we are still engaged. I'm just not wearing the ring. I promise. All right. So
this is the end. End of an era. End of so many memories. End of our first place that we lived
in in the Philippines. I've said all of this. You've said all of this. But I want to say it. I
have separation anxiety now. We're leaving the 2020 lockdown apartment. Did you say that? Yeah,
I've said it all. It's a long clip. Yeah, this is it. We're leaving. It's empty. Like the end
of Friends. Yeah, it is. The last episode of Friends. It is. But on to new things,
on to new exciting things. Yeah. And yeah, new condo. So. Goodbye. Farewell to this place.
Comment below how many videos you think we made in this apartment. Just comment a random number.
It's in the hundreds. It has to be. All right, let's go. I'm going to play some really sad music
I would say. This is going to be nice for like cooking videos, you know. Watch this space. Yeah.
We have ordered some pizza, which has just arrived. Have a little sneak peek at this.
Peep the pizza. What's that on there? That's chicken. Is it? Yeah, we got that chicken one.
Oh yeah, I expected big pieces of chicken. Yeah, I know what you mean. And also, what else do we
get? Wait, wait, wait, wait. We've got two pizzas we're going to share. Classic margarita. And I
added onion. I think that's going to be nice. Oh yeah. I think that'll make it nice. Yeah.
Yum. And I'm trying, and we're going to set up this laptop. I'll have like two each. But this
is our old classic MacBook Pro, which doesn't like to turn on anymore these days. Like one,
about one in 20 times, it'll turn on. This was the one that we took around the world,
travelling, daily travel vlogging. But now we obviously use the Mac mini,
which is set up on the desk. Yeah, that is going to be us. I am going to have a juicy
pale ale and we're going to eat some pizza and we're going to have kind of the night we expected
to have last night, but time got away from us last night and we were too tired. So we're going
to have some pizza. We're going to watch a movie. Yeah, it just does this. And then if I hold this
down until it goes, it never powers on with the button anymore. I have to do that. And then I have
to take that out and plug this back in. And sometimes it takes about 20 times and then it
eventually boots up anyway. Oh yeah. See, I did it only four times. Um, we just put the engagement
video live. So we're also going to reply to loads of those comments tonight, which is very exciting.
If you watch that video and commented, thank you so much. I'm speaking fast cause I'm hungry. I
want my beer. Yes, please. Um, so we're going to love you and leave you from the new condo.
Very sad to say goodbye to the other one, but you know what? All good things must come to an end.
And we are onto new chapters. A lot of new chapters. Oh my God. A lot of new chapters
in life lately. Baby on the way. Wedding on the way. Old condo gone. New condo,
let's say on the way. But we're going to eat. We're going to enjoy our food,
little movie, and we'll see you very soon in another vlog. Goodbye.
