ALMOST A BAD TIME . . . | Camping With Dogs 04/21/17

Good morning Pawdience! Shelby's like, I know something is happening. Something is going on. Yeah, I can't say it because you will freak out for the next 30 minutes. We're loading the C-A-M-P-E-R right now. So I can't have you be freaking out for the next 30 minutes. But yes, we're going. Yes, the dogs are going. Greg is going. We will be meeting him up there. We are. Daddy's getting it out right now. So we are officially going on the first C-A-M-P-I-N-G trip of the year. Shelby knows what's going on. So I have to spell things out right now. We are going to Muskellunge Lake State Park. They open this weekend and we want to be the first campers at the campground. We did this a few years ago. I know I said this the other day in a vlog. So we're really excited and maybe we'll get lucky. It's a little bit cloudy out today, but it's supposed to be beautiful the rest of the weekend. I'm hoping it clears up tonight. Maybe we'll get to see some northern lights, do some rock hunting. This is kind of a more relaxed trip. We don't do a ton of stuff while we're there. But it's gonna be interesting. I bought a new thermostat for our camper because ours is broken. We got to remember to bring the extra heater just in case. Because it's only supposed to be a high of 50F during the day and like, you know in the 20s at night. What do you think of that? Yeah, it's gonna be cold, but you don't care. You don't care and you don't care. So we'll be good. Oh look, you can see all of us. We're all in it. We are on the road. We're heading to the campground. Greg actually made it on the road before us. So he's ahead of us. He wouldn't want to follow us anyway. He would not have wanted to follow us. We are meeting him at a gas station up here though. And we're gonna let him lead. Cause it'll be... It's very windy. Please can I come up front? I think the dogs are all excited we're going camping. I know we're excited we're going camping. Takes about four hours to get where we're going. It's kind of windy. Hopefully the wind will die down by tonight. The boys might go rock picking. Hey guys! What happened? That shouldn't matter, should it? Yeah, there you go. Oh, it's gonna look so funny. We'll have to use this room. So we didn't... We didn't blow a tire. But we could have. Almost. That would have been bad. Blowing it while moving. I noticed this tire... Now I checked the tires before we left the house. So this had to have happened within the last hour that tread came off. Cause I checked all the tires before we left the house. So... If you ever see tread on the highway, it's probably from a tire. Yeah, we got lucky. Blowing a tire on a camper is scary. It's loud. It's loud and it can pull you all over the road. Depends. We have a couple. Yeah, we are dual axles. Yeah. So we're gonna show you what this looks like. So there's the tire. Apparently this one was a little more bald. I wonder if it was sitting right here when it was parked and I didn't notice how bald that tire was. So there's the tire. And then, uh... This is what it looks like. But thankfully we have a spare. Now we gotta make it there and back without an extra tire. I think we can do that though. We should be okay. Well we stopped at the gas station and we found Greg and when we stopped at the gas station I noticed that tire looked funny. So we pulled into a parking lot not far from the gas station and switched the tire. The good thing is we had a tire. We noticed it before it blew. The bad thing is now we don't have a spare tire for the rest of the trip up. But there is a few Walmarts that would probably have a tire if we do need one. Actually there's only one between here and there. So hopefully we'll be okay. We're gonna put seatbelts on and we're gonna keep on truckin'. We made it to the campground and check it out! There's nobody here. Not a soul. And it's cold and windy and my fingers are cold. What are you doing Jamie? What are you doing? Gonna go see the big lake. You wanna take these... Do you wanna take these guys with you? I was gonna say, I think I'll keep you guys here with the dogs and me. I don't wanna be lonely. While we still have some of that sun left Jamie and Greg are gonna head right across the road over there down to the big lake. Lake Superior is right over there. They're gonna head over there and go do some rock hunting. I'm gonna let the dogs have a relaxing time for the next 30 minutes and then they can have some dinner. Rule of thumb, they cannot eat right after they get out of the car and they drink some water. So they have to have some relaxing down time for 30 minutes. Even though you would think a car ride would be a relaxing down time. You know, it's a little motion. And then they can have some dinner. I was showing everybody we're the only ones here. That's Muska Lounge Lake over there. And over there. And I crashed the drone on the corner right over there. Oh yeah! Yeah! Oh yeah! I could fly your drone while you're gone. It's that tree over there. Don't hit that one. Got it! What the heck happened? I let you guys in here for three seconds and you all get on the bed. Good job! Good job! So there's only one... I don't even know if I'd call it a downfall. It's only really a downfall when we come here this time of the year. This campground has like no internet. Very very rarely you'll get like a little bit of service on your phone. Which, you know, isn't too bad. I mean, I downloaded some books beforehand before we came up here. That's probably the only downfall of this campground. The girls just ate dinner. Shelby was being picky so she had to get some wet foods on her food so she would eat. She does that a lot when we go camping so we always try to make sure to bring her wet food. Oakley's already got her spot with her bed. And Memphis is right here. We'll build a fire when they get back. Alright! Fire is being built. That's a funny noise. Getting ready to make some food! You girls crack me up. You're in the car all day and you're like, we're done. We're exhausted. Except for you! You're up and awake. You're waiting for them to bring in food that they're making on the fire. That's what you're waiting for. Alright! We just had some delicious food on the fire. You can't see me if I turn the camera around but I'll try to turn it this way. See that light over there? We're gonna go walk that way and see if we can see some northern lights. Jamie is staying in the camper with the dogs so they're not by themselves. Greg and I are gonna go walk through the dark. We made it down to the water! Look at the waves! It's so cold! Let's hope it's worth it! I hope you can hear me. I kinda have to yell. Hey! We're going to bed. Where are you going? She's like, I gotta readjust. Get comfy on the bed. Go to bed on the bed. Not on the floor. Well, we caught some northern lights which I'm sure you just saw. Now it's like 12.30. We're going to bed. Oakley? Go back on your bed. We brought that for you. Apparently Memphis is gonna snuggle up with Greg. I think you got a snuggle puppy. Shelby over here has decided to take our entire bed.
