WE GOT A NEW TREE

We've had the same tree for like, how long have we had that tree? A long time. She's like, still waiting for pets. What do you think I'm doing? Yeah, I think we've had the same Christmas tree for like seven or eight years and there's been one that I've been eyeing at Kmart for probably a long time, three or four years. So it finally went on sale and I almost bought it at the store and then I talked myself out of it. Then I came home and not only was it on sale online, but I also found another $10 off coupon plus it was $20 more off if I ordered it online for pickup in store today. Which is dumb. I don't know why stores do that. What are you doing, dork? We're kind of stuck home the next few days, at least while Oakley still has stitches and staples. We don't want to leave her alone. Look at you two. Snuggle buddies. Little snuggle buddies. But I'm gonna go pick up our tree. So you get to be on dog duty. She's like, yep, I'm good. Your foot's caught on my shirt. You get it? I think she got it. It's like, oh more pets, please. Are we making dog treats? So we're making dog treats. We're actually gonna make snowball dog treats. Now they get to sit in the fridge for a little bit. I feel like I should point out that it's December and the yard still looks like this. On top of the fact that the yard still looks like this, I don't have the coat on. Because it's not cold. It's supposed to be like this all week. I was reading on weather.com and it looks like we've only, like where we're at, we only have like a 70% chance that we're actually gonna have a white Christmas. So we might have to deal with this. Are you still confused that we moved the A-frame, hun? She's like, I just, I don't understand. My hole's gone and my A-frame is moved. You're not supposed to be digging anyway. Bless you. We're preparing for the Christmas tree. This is part of the process. Move furniture. Memphis says, when you move things, I find all the food that got dropped and has to eat it. What's going on? What's he doing? Is he moving things? She's like, hold on. Let me check over here. Let me totally get in your way. Look, we got a new tree! Yay! I did not spend that much money on that tree. That's why I haven't bought it the past couple years though. Because every time I look at it, it's like, oh look, it's $300. Who spends $300 on a fake tree? Look, it's fluffy, you guys. Yeah, no, I got it on sale and then on sale again, because I ordered it online. It should be connected. I think there's only three pieces maybe. It's gonna be a lot easier to put this tree together than our past tree. Supposedly. It'll collect the fur, I think. And then we just got to hope that it actually stays working. I don't like trees with lights on them. But I really wanted this tree and they didn't have one without lights on it that looked like this. So we're going with this one. What's wrong Memphis? She found a piece of food. Look at her butt. Are you under the chair? Did you get it? Are you squeaking? She's like, no, you get the squeaky. Can you get it for me? Memphis, he's gonna get it. Is it gonna fall open as soon as you let go? I think so. Ta-da! That's way easier than our past tree. Yes, we're still gonna do the video of the dogs helping us put up the tree. We're just putting the tree together. Because this part on the dogs video just isn't that exciting looking. It's like, look, here's an artificial tree. Watch the dogs put it together. I think so. I didn't read the instructions. I'm pretty sure. I think so. And then there should be a plug. I don't know. It's so fluffy. I like how it's not all the way to the ground like our other tree. It's still really wide at the base though. Now is it gonna be too tall? It shouldn't be too tall because it's the same height as our old tree. I don't think that one's gonna fall down by itself though, is it? I don't think so. I don't think it's too tall. It's as tall as our other tree. Fluff the tree! My favorite job. Jamie's really good at tree fluffing. I'm not. I'm good at putting ornaments on. Yes you are. I'm not good at tree fluffing. This one's gonna be really different than the other tree though. Yeah. I already like it like a thousand times better. I guess I have to figure out if I have to plug all these parts together. I think you do. I would think so. We'll figure it out. So we haven't figured out if we have to plug anything in. So Jamie's just gonna plug the tree in. Alright, let's just do it. We're just gonna plug it in and see what happens. Alright, so I got this plug in. Let's see. Oh, I can't plug it in. Did I plug it in? Does it all work? Yeah, but how does it all work? So you don't have to plug anything in? Apparently not. So hold on a second. Is this serious? Am I playing with the electricity here? I don't know, maybe. That's pretty cool. The plug is inside. Alright, oops. Don't break it. That's pretty neat. Groovy. Now to add our own color. Yeah. Because I had to get one with lights on it. We decided to go with the white tree. Because it was cheaper. That's why you got the discount, right? No, they were both the same price. Oh, with or without lights? Well, no. They didn't have one without lights. Yeah, that's why. I remember there was something. I didn't have a choice. But I could have got multicolored lights or white lights. And since I like multicolored lights, but some years I like to do like green and white. This year we're actually doing a blue and white tree. That was the plan to start. So I went with the white tree and I figured if anything, in the years we don't want white lights, we always put white lights on it. Even when we have multicolored lights on our tree. So I figured this would be perfect. Because we're definitely gonna add more lights. Although, I like the lights on it. I like... I really like this tree. I'm so excited. It's time to put up the Christmas tree! Let's open it up! Whee! What are you doing in there? This is kind of cool. I like this. I'm just gonna hang out right here. You like that? What you think Shelby? You want in there too? Shelby's like, no. Look at our new Christmas decorations. Memphis is like, I found cardboard in here. I would like to play with it. Shelby! And the tree is up! We still gotta put more lights on it and do all the other stuff. But for now, it's up. We also have to record the dogs putting the tree up video. So I don't wanna get too far ahead of myself before I'm ready. I gotta bring up a bunch of stuff from downstairs. I don't have any food in my hand, sweetheart. I'm sorry. Since I forgot to show you guys this yesterday, I'm gonna show you this today. I have to unlock the door. So the light show is working. It's working pretty good. Actually, I don't know if you can... tell by these trees. But the tops of these trees have green lights on them. And I put a spotlight at the bottom of each of them. So I don't know if you'll be able to tell. I don't know what song it's playing because I don't have the radio on. I have no idea what song it is. Wow! So anyway, look at the branches on the trees. See the branches? Not the lights here. There's a spotlight at the base of the tree. It's shining up and it like illuminates the whole tree instead of just the green lights on top. I'll actually record quite a few of these and show you guys what they look like. Hopefully get a couple new songs done before Christmas. But it's working! These were kind of just an added thing. I wanted to add a couple extra lights so I took these spotlights and shined them on our little statues. I thought they looked cool. Just for some added light. Now the reason I can't really show you a clip of those in this video is because then I'll have a copyright thing and I don't want to deal with it. But if I upload it all by itself I can say, yeah we know there's copyrighted music in it and that's okay. But I will get out there and record them eventually. Hopefully get a couple new songs. Do you guys have any suggestions for any songs you think I should try this year? I have no idea which ones I'm going to do and it's getting... Aurora chasing, blah, blah, blah blog groups and we've kind of just watched there because people will post pictures as they're out and if you see people posting a lot of pictures usually it means you better go but at the same time, sometimes you see people posting pictures and you go and you miss it because sometimes it doesn't last very long. So... We haven't decided what we're gonna do yet. Or it's cloudy where you're at. Or it's cloudy or it's foggy or it's hazy. Snowing. Yeah. We haven't decided yet. We did not finish the tree today. But it looks really pretty like that sitting in the corner. I don't know if we need this curtain. It's on the table. Oh. I saw that too. Yeah. Tomorrow. We'll finish it tomorrow. We had to do the video where the dogs help us put it up. So... That's the other reason we didn't really want to finish it. But it looks really pretty. We need the fireplace on and then it's like one of those postcards. Except all the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff. Yep. Yep. It'll have to be right there. So... I don't know.
