Today at Graceville we are celebrating and honoring the moms and mother like figures in our
lives. We are so grateful for you for all that you do to make sure that the world doesn't go into
chaos. You are a blessing, you are valued, you are loved and you are treasured. Continue to let
your light shine wherever you may be. Remember God loves you and we love you too.
There you are back right on time. We were just about to head over to nature time to learn more
about God's wonderful creation and back to teach us a little bit more about them is our friend
Ryan from Canada. You know how it is with him, you never know who or what we'll be learning about
today. So if you want to learn more about God's creation you'll just have to come along with me.
Hello boys and girls and welcome again to Nature Time at Graceville. Today we're going to be talking
about hiking. Let's tune in. Hiking is a good exercise. It strengthens muscles, bones and also
helps with balance and heart health. We visited Barbados this summer and had the pleasure of
hiking in the parish of Saint Andrew in Cattlewash in the Chalky Mount. We started around 6 20 a.m
when it was still cool. Some hills were difficult to climb but we were a team. Stronger group members
stayed behind to make sure that no one was left behind. They told us where to place our feet and
which branch or rock was safe to hold on to. They also told us which paths to avoid because there
were thorny branches and loose rocks that could have hurt us. They used ropes to pull us up when
the climb became too steep and encouraged us to slide downhill when it became too slippery.
There will be times where we feel unsure about where to put our trust because we want to avoid
leaning onto a tree with no roots or stepping onto loose rocks. We want strong support that
will help us get safely to the end. Life is like hiking. The path can become slippery and rocky
making it difficult to climb but Proverbs 3 verses 5 and 6 say trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.
Bye boys and girls. Thanks for tuning in. See you next time. And we made it back just in time to
check in on Melissa. Thanks so much for that amazing information. Now let's find out how her
week went. Let's go. Hey Pastor Nastasia. I learned something really amazing about my mom this week.
What did you learn? A really big dog came off of its leash and headed directly towards where I was
but my mom actually used her body to shield me from the dog but luckily the owner and my dad
came to help but she was so brave. She was and it sounds like your mom is super fearless especially
when it comes to you. God actually placed in moms a special dose of courage that helps them to
just like God they are examples of how God loves and cares for us. Wait a minute that reminds me
of our theme for this week that simply says moms are courageous. Let me hear my friend say say it.
Moms are courageous. And our memory verse is found in 1 John 4 verse 18 and it simply says
perfect love drives out fear. Let me hear my friend Alex say it. Our memory verse for this
week is perfect love drives away fear. 1 John chapter 4 verse 18. Great job everyone.
Wow even if my mom was afraid she loved me so much that she wanted to make sure that I was
safe no matter what. That reminds me of the story of Moses mom. Can you tell it to me again?
A new king called Pharaoh ruled over Egypt. He was worried that the Israelites might become
too many and strong so he made a very bad rule. All baby boys born to the Israelites under two
years old had to be put to death. During this time a kind woman named Jochebed and her husband
Amram had a baby boy. They loved him so much and wanted to keep him safe. So Jochebed hid him for
three months. But as he got bigger it was hard to keep him hidden. So Jochebed made a brave plan.
She made a special basket, placed the baby inside and gently set it on the river under the watchful
eyes of her daughter Miriam. She trusted that God would protect him. Pharaoh's daughter found the
baby, loved him right away and named him Moses. God had a special plan for Moses. You see he would
grow up to help save the Israelites by setting them free. Wowzers! Jochebed was incredible. She
really risked everything to make sure that Moses was safe. That's right! Even when things were
scary Jochebed still protected and loved her son. Just like Moses we can be thankful to God
that he's blessed us with brave-hearted moms who love us. Thanks moms! Happy Mother's Day!
