On this week's Graceville, we celebrate our mothers and motherly figures who show us God's love by keeping us safe from harm and danger! Ryan shares with us about Robin birds and an unlikely visitor in their nest.
This week's story is found in Exodus 1 and 2.

Hi boys and girls! Welcome back to Graceville, where God's love is everywhere. It's me,
Pastor Anastasia, and I'm so super duper excited that you've joined me today as we learn more
about our best friend, Jesus. Today's special feature comes to us from right here in the United
States, where my friend Daniel has prepared a beautiful song just for us. Let's listen in!
That was awesome! Boys and girls, remember if you want to share your gifts and talents for Jesus,
please ask your parents or guardians to inbox me and I'd be happy to share with our friends.
Today at Graceville, we're celebrating mothers and mother-like figures who played
important roles in our lives. And here with a special tribute to moms is my friend Ava.
A mother's love is endless no matter where you go. She'll love you with her whole heart and everyone
will know. A mother's love is selfless. She will always care. No matter how old you are,
she covers you with prayers. A mother's love is fearless, just like God above,
and he will give her everything just to show her kids love.
You guessed it, it's nature time! And I can't wait to find out who or what we'll be learning
about today with our friend Ryan from Canada. I wonder what it is. Come along with me!
Hello boys and girls and welcome again to nature time at Graceville. Today we have a part two of
our robin's nest. Let's tune in! Last week, we took a close look at how a robin's nest is made
and we were amazed at the great effort they had put in to make a safe place for their eggs.
But when the time came around to settle into their nest, they could not. Here's why. One day,
I noticed a pigeon sitting in the robin's nest. I ran quickly to tell my dad, but he did not
believe me. Finally, I called him so he could see for himself, and he was shocked. There was a
pigeon sitting in the robin's nest. All that hard work for nothing? What could we do? We tried to
shoo the pigeon, but it kept on returning to bully the robins. No matter how hard we tried, it would
never leave. We saw the pigeon on our roof and the robins perched on the nearby grass or trees.
Every time they approached the nest, the pigeon chased them away. But the robins never gave up,
and finally, the bully left for good. Luke chapter 18 verses 7 to 8a says,
And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out for him day and night?
Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice.
This reminds me of the parable of the widow and the unfair judge.
She also had a bully who wanted to take away everything she had. But after waiting for a
very long time, the unfair judge finally helped her. God is way better than that unfair judge.
Boys and girls, Jesus says keep praying, keep waiting, and never give up. God will help you.
Bye boys and girls. Thanks for tuning in. See you next time.
I wonder what Nico's doing. How about we check in on him? Let's go.
Hey Pastor Anastasia, I learned something really amazing about my mom today.
Really? What did you learn?
Turns out when we were little, our family went to a park to have some fun, obviously.
But then something really, really scary happened.
Oh no! What happened?
A big terrifying dog got off his leash and started chasing after me.
When my mom saw what happened, she came and shooed me.
Luckily, the owner and my dad came to the rescue. I didn't know my mom was so brave.
She sure was, Nico. God has given mothers the unique ability to
fearlessly love and protect their children from harm and danger.
Wait a minute! That reminds me of our theme for this week, which simply says,
Let me hear my little friend say it.
And our memory verse is found in 1 John 4 verse 18.
And it simply says,
Let me hear my little friend Derek in the Philippines say it.
Today's memory verse is found in 1 John 4 verse 18.
It says,
Great job, everyone!
Wow! Even though my mom was scared for herself, her love made her brave enough to protect me.
You know what? That kind of reminds me about how Jesus died on the cross for us.
Now you're tracking, Nico. Like Jesus,
mothers are always willing to take on any challenge for their child's safety.
That's why today's story is about a courageous mother who defied Pharaoh's orders to keep her
son safe. Can you guess who today's story is about? A mother who disobeyed Pharaoh?
I wonder who that could be. I think I got it.
It's Jochebed! That's right, everyone. Today's story is about Jochebed.
As the Lord blessed the Israelites in the land of Egypt, they grew from a small group to a
This terrified the new Pharaoh. He was afraid that one day the Israelites would rebel against
the Egyptians because they outnumbered them. So the wicked Pharaoh devised an evil plan to kill
all the boys two years old and younger. During this time, Jochebed and Amran welcomed a bouncing
baby boy named Moses. Determined to protect her son, Jochebed hid him for three months in their
home. When he became bigger and more difficult to hide, she made a special floating basket just for
him. Her fearless efforts to protect Moses were successful as miraculously God used the Pharaoh's
daughter to help Jochebed keep Moses safe. Whoa! Jochebed was incredible. She raised everything
just to save baby Pharaoh. That's right. Even in a scary situation, love made her brave.
Thank God for moms who allow the love of God to shine through them daily in the limitless ways
they care for, guide, and protect their children. Happy Mother's Day!
