Hi boys and girls and welcome back to Greatsville where God's love is everywhere. It's me
Pastor Anastasia and I'm so super duper excited that you join me today as we learn more about our
best friend Jesus. Today's special feature comes to us from right here in the United States.
Where my friend Tiana has prepared a beautiful song just for us. Let's listen in.
Thanks Tiana that was amazing. Boys and girls remember if you want to share your gifts or
talents for Jesus please ask your parents or guardians to inbox me and I'd be happy to share
it with our friends. So good oh there you are it's just about time for nature time and you know I've
been working on my plants. I've been trying to get my green thumb going but here to teach us more
about some really cool trees is our friend Ryan from Canada. So let's join him.
Hello boys and girls and welcome again to Nature Time at Greatsville. Today we're going to be
talking about palm trees. Let's tune in. There are over 2,600 kinds of palm trees.
The most popular is the king palm because it grows in many countries but it is originally
from Australia. It can grow up to 40 feet tall and 15 feet wide. The date palm is the longest
living palm tree. It can live up to 120 years. The wax palm is the tallest and grows up to 200 feet.
Some palm trees grow fruit. For example the coconut palm tree, the date palm tree and the
peach palm tree. The seed of the coco de mer palm tree is the largest seed in the world. It's also
called the double coconut tree. It can weigh over 60 pounds and be 60 inches wide. Matthew chapter
17 verse 20b says truly I tell you if you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can say to
this mountain move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. It
doesn't matter how small our faith is. Jesus promises that it will grow and we will be able
to do amazing things for him. Boys and girls thanks for tuning in. See you next time.
Thanks Ryan. That was so cool and we finished just in time to check in on Melissa. I wonder
what she's up to today. Let's go. Hey Pastor Anastasia. I'm totally enjoying my vacation
here in Brazil. Wow now that sounds like fun. I wish I were there too. The church I visited last
week had a huge baptism. That sounds amazing. How many people were baptized? 50. I've never seen
anything like it. Sounds like that church is fulfilling the great commission that Jesus gave
his disciples. It's his desire that people all over the world learn about and accept him as their
personal savior. Wait a minute. That reminds me of our theme for this week which simply says
be a disciple maker. Let me hear my friends say it. Be a disciple maker. And our memory verse is found
in Matthew 28 verse 19 and it simply says go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in
the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Let me hear my friends say it. Go and make disciples
of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28 19. Great job everyone.
The great commission? What's that? The great commission is the final assignment
Jesus gave his followers before returning to heaven. They were to continue making disciples
of men by teaching and baptizing in his name. And they did it with all their hearts. So much so
that after one of his disciples was done preaching 3,000 people were baptized in one day.
Wow. Can you guess which disciple I'm talking about? 3,000 people? This must be about Peter.
That's right. I'm talking about Peter.
As they traveled from town to town Jesus took every opportunity to prepare his disciples for
the time when he'd no longer be around. Before ascending to heaven Jesus entrusted them with an
important lifelong mission of teaching, baptizing, and making disciples of people all around the
world. A mission that they took seriously. On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit spoke powerfully
as Peter preached the good news of God's love. When they heard the message by Peter
they joyfully accepted the good news and asked him to be baptized. On that day 3,000 people
gave their lives to Jesus and were baptized. 3,000 people? Wowzers. Can I be a part of Jesus's team
and join in on fulfilling the Great Commission? Absolutely. We all can. Through simple acts of
kindness, inviting people to worship with us are perfect ways to fulfill the Great Commission
as we share Jesus's love.
