Cruising from Philadelphia Pennsylvania is back after 15 years. We just got off the inaugural cruise on the Norwegian Jewel sailing out of Philly to Bermuda. This video is about what to expect at the cruise port (Embarkation and Debarkation) and how the process works which is a little different from many other ports. They are still working on the cruise port, but its time to get on the ship. Be sure to watch our video on the Norwegian Jewel

All right, we're on the bus out of Philly. It's the inaugural cruise, but...
You're making me laugh.
We made it. The inaugural cruise on the Norwegian Jewel out of Philadelphia. The first one.
15 years. I want to show you what this port looks like and how you'd go through everything here
because it's a little bit different. It's not quite finished, but trust me, as time goes,
it will get better. It's just great to have another port on the east coast, isn't it?
All right, we arrived at Declarion. This is where you meet to take a shuttle over to the cruise
ship. They grab your bags here and then you go over and you wait in line. It was pretty slick.
They take your bags and put them on these and they'll take them right to the cruise ship.
All right, this is where you check in at Declarion Hotel. You actually go through here. They've got
the Norwegian cruise people here. We're not even close to the ship. I think we're like
seven miles away, but they got all their Norwegian cruise people here to check you in.
There they are. All right, now we're heading to the bus. We get out of there. We got checked in.
Now we're heading to the buses this way through Declarion Hotel. This is where everything happens.
I guess it's this way. Bus A. All right, we're getting on the bus. Just so you know, we waited
about two hours in Declarion Hotel before you actually got to the bus, but now we're heading
to the cruise port. There's Laura. All right, we're on the bus out of Philly. It's the inaugural cruise.
What?
We already were at the bus thing getting checked in and we saw two YouTubers, right? Yes. What's
their names? Don and oh, Tony. Tony, yes. This is going to be a crazy cruise because I can't wait
to show you everything that's on this new ship and the first time out of Philadelphia. Let's just
continue. All right, we're at the cruise port, the Philly cruise port, the inaugural cruise. This is
what it looks like. This scaffolding, this will all be covered up at one point. This is where you'll
wait. Now, one thing to notice here, there is no parking, but right now you cannot park here.
They're still working on this part. The Norwegian Jewel is here for the first time in 15 years a ship
has cruised out of this cruise port. Now we got off the buses. We walked past the cruise ship.
Now they got turnstiles in here. Oh my goodness. I don't know. I guess this is going to be the
way to get on the ship at some point, but at least it's covered. All right, we just went
through security here and we're finally getting to the ship. There it is, the Norwegian Jewel.
Now, one thing you're going to notice about this port, there is no overhead thing to crawl in.
You're actually walking up the gate to get on this ship. I'm sure that will change in the future,
but right now that's the best they got. This looks like this is all going to be concrete
at some point. You can see it's not quite ready on the inaugural cruise.
Finally, after a couple hours, I can see the entrance. We're close now.
They're still loading up. You get through there,
then you got to go through this little turnstile and there's where I guess we're waiting to get on.
This is a gang way to get on. I'm glad it's not raining, I can tell you that.
I would not want to be cruising out of this port in bad weather. Looks like they're starting to
build some canopy covers here, so this will be covered very soon, I'm sure. That's what you want
to see right here. Every piece of equipment, everything that's loading this ship is brand
new and we're on. As the crew prepares our ship for our send-off and a great vacation,
I also want to show you the debarkation process when you return to the Philadelphia cruise port.
It's been 15 years since any cruise ship sailed out of Philadelphia. Make sure you're watching
our full ship tour of this fantastic Norwegian cruise ship and all the great fun and activities
that they have on board. Thank you Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for your hospitality and I can't
wait to cruise soon again out of this fantastic cruise port. Work in progress. All right, we're
getting off the ship. We're going to see how confusing this is to get back to the hotel area.
So we're getting ready to exit the cruise ship right here. All right, once you find the exit and
the line, it's not too bad. It's pretty organized. Now we're heading over there to get the bus back
to the hotel. It's just where we'll finish up and get out of this place. All right, we exited.
This was actually really smooth. Carry your luggage off if I give you a suggestion, otherwise
you don't want to know when you get back to the hotel if your luggage is going to be there yet.
There we are.
Oh, this is nice. Tells you if you're going to the airport or the hotel.
All right, that was a lot smoother and getting on. Some people said it took like two and a half hours
to get a bus over when we got here. We didn't have quite that long
because we were one of the first ones at the hotel for departure.
A lot smoother coming back than getting there. All right, that's a wrap. We just got back to
the Clarion Hotel. It took us about 30 minutes. We were one of the first ones off. Make sure you're
doing self-assist. Carry your luggage off. You put it in the bus and get off as soon as you can.
Same way when coming in. Get there early. That's my tip of the day.
