Welcome back to Graceville, where God's love is everywhere.
It's me, Pastor Anastasia.
And I'm so excited that you've joined me today as we learn more
about our best friend, Jesus.
Today's special teacher comes to us all the way from Zimbabwe, where my friend
Liam has prepared a wonderful song with the brightest smile just for us.
Let's listen in.
I got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.
We're down in my heart.
I got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart.
We're down in my heart.
Tuesday, and I'm so happy, so very happy.
I've got the love of Jesus in my heart.
And I'm so happy, so very happy.
I've got the love of Jesus in my heart.
Thanks, Liam.
That was so adorable.
Boys and girls, remember, if you want to share the cool things that you're doing
at home to have fun while we're staying in, please ask your parents or guardians
to inbox me, and I'd be happy to share it with our friends.
Hey guys, it's nature time.
And our friend Ryan from Canada is back, but he's teaming up
with another friend of his today.
Her name is Michaela.
Let's see who they have for us today.
Hi, boys and girls.
Welcome again to nature time at Greensville.
And today we have another special feature.
It's Michaela.
She's going to show us her really cool pet.
Let's see what she has for us.
My name's Michaela, and I can't wait to tell you about my special pet.
Have you ever heard of a hormat crab?
This is a picture of my pet hormat crab named Timbal.
Timbal loves to hide in his shell.
Hormat crabs love to snack on spinach, carrots, and lettuce.
Even though hormat crabs hide in their shell, they still love to play with you.
Hormat crabs don't stay in their same shell their whole life.
You know, the hormat crab reminds me of our space to grow.
As Christ enters our heart, the more we become like him.
I have two bigger shells when Timbal is ready to switch.
When we grow in Christ, we will leave the old things behind.
Well, Michaela, that was amazing.
You learned so much about your pet hermit crab and how when the closer we get to
Jesus, the more we become like him.
And if you guys want to do something like Michaela, just tell your parents to contact
Pastor Anastasia.
Bye.
Until next time.
Oh, hey everyone.
I was just about to head over to the lake where Nico is out fishing.
Let's check in on how he's doing.
Oh, hey there Pastor Anastasia.
Is everything okay?
You sound pretty down.
Not really.
I've been out here forever and I still haven't caught anything.
I'm about ready to call it quits.
Oh no.
It can be pretty discouraging when we fail, especially when we've tried so hard.
But as we keep pushing forward, we learn to trust God more.
That's why our theme for today is never give up.
Let me hear you say it Lais.
Great job.
And our memory verse for today is found in Philippians 4 verse 13.
And it simply says, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Let me hear my little friend in Bermuda say it.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Philippians 4 verse 13.
Awesome.
Aw, cheer up Nico.
Your empty fishing pail reminds me of someone in the Bible who experienced the same thing.
What?
Really?
He could have done worse than me.
I've been out here for nearly a whole hour and I still haven't got anything.
Actually, he did.
That's why today's story is about a man who learned that with God, all things are possible.
Even catching a boatload of fish.
Can you guess who today's story is about?
I know.
It's the story about Peter when he went fishing.
That's right, Sam.
Today's story is about Peter.
Long ago, there was a man named Simon who was later renamed Peter.
He was a fisherman and spent most of his time out to sea.
One night he went out to fish but caught nothing the entire time.
He was so sad and discouraged that he gave up and returned back to shore.
Jesus was at the seashore teaching the people amazing things about God.
To his surprise, Jesus jumped up into his boat and continued teaching.
When Jesus was finished, he invited Peter to go fishing with him.
Peter had already given up because of his bad experience, but Jesus said,
Nonsense, Peter.
Launch out into the deep for a big catch.
Peter obeyed and when he threw his net out this time, he was amazed at how much fish he caught.
There was so much fish that he needed two boats to carry them back to shore.
What a miracle!
Whoa, if Peter and the disciples could catch so much fish, so can I.
But I don't need a boat load, though.
You sure can, Nico.
But today's story is really about how God called Peter to be a fisher of men, not a fisherman.
Oh, I get it.
You mean like helping people know more about Jesus.
Exactly.
And it's not as hard as we think.
When we depend on God like Peter did, he helps us to do all things through Christ who gives us strength.
