This is Hayden Kilbourne. He's a Kentucky State Trooper. My oh my he's trying to live up to that
last name. We're gonna tell a little story about him today. Well he was involved in a four-county
chase involving Robert Kidd in a stolen vehicle. Well looky here. Here's Hayden Kilbourne beating
the holy hell out of Robert Kidd with a metal baton and his partner sitting here holding a
taser on Kidd when he should have been using it on Kilbourne. So you're trying to be empathetic
that you're sacrificing your officer's safety. Look at the mirror and ask yourself can I kill
a kid? Can I shoot a grandma? Can I shoot a mom? Can I shoot a dad? Can I shoot a brother?
Why is this all hard? Because you have to live with it. You're in the wrong profession my friend
if you can't live with that. How many of you made that decision? One out of seven. How many brothers
do you have out here? How many sisters? They mean less to you than some a mental subject.
You go home, you soul search and you figure it out and if that question hasn't been answered
tomorrow I suggest you don't come back. The absolute most important thing is officer safety.
The training that you're about to receive will be extremely demanding.
You will be challenged both physically and mentally on a daily basis.
But you will be trained well. Am I willing to make the commitment? Am I willing to make
the commitment that is required to earn the title of Kentucky State Police Trooper?
If you're not, you can excuse yourself now.
You got what it takes. On July 28th, 2023 former state trooper Hayden Kilborn was involved in an
excessive use of force incident in Carroll County. At around 10 o'clock that morning
Kentucky State Police troopers were involved in a pursuit initiated by a suspect reported to be
armed and dangerous driving a stolen vehicle. The pursuit traveled through four Kentucky counties
and two KSP post areas involving multiple police agencies. KSP troopers located the vehicle and
attempted to conduct a traffic stop. A tire deflation device was used which successfully
deflated the tire and eventually slowed the vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled
from the troopers on foot into a wooded area. Trooper Kilborn began pursuing the suspect
and making verbal threats. He then deployed his taser and the suspect fell to the ground
ending the foot pursuit. Trooper Kilborn instructed the suspect to roll over and show his hands.
Trooper Kilborn then delivered multiple baton strikes to the suspect's arms and upper body area.
During the baton strikes the suspect was seen on body camera footage
appearing to comply and show his hands to Trooper Kilborn. It was during this time that the agency
determined that Trooper Kilborn's actions constituted excessive force. Five days after
the incident on August 2nd, 2023 following an administrative review of this incident and acting
in accordance with KRS chapter 16 Commissioner Burnett issued an intent to dismiss Mr. Kilborn.
In accordance with the same statute Mr. Kilborn exercised his right to challenge the proposed
termination and requested a hearing before the KSP trial board. After hearing the evidence the
board issued a six-month suspension without pay. Wow that's rarity isn't it? Which concluded on
February 15th, 2024. KSP launched a criminal investigation into the incident on August 4th,
2023. The case was submitted to the prosecutor's office on September 18th, 2023 leading to the
assault second degree and terroristic threatening third degree. Mr. Kilborn was charged and arrested
on September 19th, 2023. Now if you ask me the other troopers should have been charged for not
tasing Kilborn and not putting his ass in cuffs. Since Mr. Kilborn was under a felony indictment
he could not serve as a road trooper. Therefore during the criminal case and judicial process
he was administratively assigned to the office of technical services and did not perform any sworn
law enforcement duties while the indictment was pending. What that sounds like some
He submitted his resignation on January 13th, 2026 and has not been employed by the agency
since. In short this trooper violated the sacred duty of policing. And you never have
To protect the victim we have blurred his identity. I'm Colonel Phillip Burnett Jr.
Commissioner of Kentucky State Police. This is the numbnuts that suspended the guy for six months
without pay and then brought him back to work at a desk and make money off the citizens while he was
having a criminal investigation done. Wow. The way I see it this guy ought to be fired too for
something like embezzlement or just freaking stealing money from the taxpayers or something
misappropriation of funds. The video you're about to see is unacceptable. Former trooper
Kilborn's actions were out of line and rightfully prosecuted. Troopers have a duty to uphold the law
in all ways.

This 2023 arrest cost a Kentucky state trooper his job and his freedom.
He pounded on a man at the end of a police chase who'd already given up.
In fact that officer got more time behind bars than the suspect he was after.
Video shows the moment he crossed the line.
This is Hayden Kilbourne.
Court documents say Kidd suffered seven stitches to the upper lip,
bruising across his face and body, and broken teeth because of the attack.
In January of this year Kilbourne pleaded guilty to assault and terroristic threatening.
He was sentenced to five years in prison,
and agreed not to seek probation and to surrender his law enforcement credential.
What is this? Did you do this? This looks like a crime.
This trooper violated the sacred duty of policing.
Meanwhile Kidd was sentenced to three years for the stolen car and police chase.
He's set to be released from lockup later this year.
Now Kidd is suing Kilbourne.
That lawsuit claims that Kidd posed no threat
and there was no justification for that use of force.
The lawsuit is still working its way through the courts.
