The guide covers high-performance, budget-friendly alternatives for base, eyes, brows, and lips, emphasizing that quality is not always tied to a high price tag.
If you love makeup, I'm about to save you an insane amount of money because in today's video,
I'm doing a full face of drugstore dupes that are just as good, if not better, than their luxury
counterpart. This video is proof that just because makeup is expensive, it definitely does not mean
that it is better. So let's get right into it. Let's expose some luxury makeup, okay? Truly,
base makeup can make or break your entire makeup look, but this drugstore base, let me tell you,
it is so good. It's giving glowy, dewy perfection. I'm going in with the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow
Tint, and I'm using the shade 100 Cool. I'm going to put one pump on the back of my hand. If you
watch my channel, you know I've been loving this technique. You're going to need a spatula brush.
I'm so sad they discontinued this one, but I will be linking one very similar down below.
And what we're going to do is we are going to paint that onto the skin in a very nice,
thin but even layer. This technique really allows you to lay down your foundation or skin tint in a
way that is super even, and it kind of prevents you from over applying your foundation. So when
I do this technique, I never get an overly cakey look. And to be honest, it's just so satisfying
to apply foundation this way. Okay, so we have a nice even layer of this. I'm going to buff it in
using my Patrick Ta foundation brush. I'm going to link all the products and all the brushes that I
I really do feel like the finish of this skin tint is very comparable to a lot of the other
high-end skin tints that I use. This is very similar in finish to the Hourglass and even the
Milk one that I really like. The only thing is I do feel like you have to work kind of quickly with
the skin tint because this actually sets down and lasts a really long time. So you could even work
in sections of the face, like do one cheek at a time, because I do find if you wait too long,
this does just kind of like set down and it's hard to blend. But if you work quickly, it's really
not an issue. I'm going to bring you guys in nice and close so you can see what this looks like.
I would say this is a light coverage with a glowy finish. If you like a more natural glowy look,
you are going to love this. If you want more like coverage, full glam, this isn't your girl.
For concealer, I might cry because I think they're discontinuing this concealer. And this is one of
the best concealers I've ever tried high-end or drugstore. In fact, I talk about this one in my
best concealer video, which I will put on the screen. Should I do an updated version of that
video? There have been a lot of good concealers to come out since I filmed that. But anyways,
this is the Maybelline Superstay Activewear 30 Hour Concealer. And this one is definitely more
full coverage vibes, but it's not heavy. It's very, very thin in consistency. So it feels
kind of like a serum, but it gives coverage and it lasts so long. I can't even believe it,
honestly. I wear this on days where I really need my makeup to last and look good by the end of the
night. And another thing I like about this concealer is that it does not crease on me.
It is not heavy at all. The consistency is nice and thin. And I'm using my Patrick Ta
Concealer Brush to blend this out. Honestly, this concealer kind of reminds me of the Estee
Lauder Double Wear Concealer, which I love as a full coverage concealer. The Double Wear
Concealer also lasts a really long time, just like this one. But you really cannot beat this
concealer for the price. I was looking online and it does kind of look like it's getting
discontinued, which is just so unfortunate. But I'm going to link it down below anywhere
that I can find it. Hopefully I'm wrong and hopefully it's not being discontinued, but
yeah. Of all the concealers I've ever tried, I would say the Estee Lauder and this one are
some of the longest wearing concealers that I've personally ever tried, which just goes
to show that just because it's more expensive, it definitely does not mean it is better.
You just kind of have to know what you're looking for and that can be really hard,
but that is why you have me. I literally review products for a living and I'm a professional
makeup artist, so I'm so, so picky. And I'm going to be honest with you, I love a luxury
makeup product. I really do, because a lot of drugstore makeup products, they don't perform
as much as like a higher end, high performance product, but there are some that perform just
as well, if not better. And those are the ones that I'm talking about in today's video.
Like I really do feel like this base looks so good. And the thing about it is it's going to
last me all day long, like easily past 12 hours. Honestly, I've tested this. Okay. So
cream bronzers. I am incredibly picky about cream bronzers, especially as someone who's fair skin,
a lot of cream bronzers can pull orange on me. And that's what a lot of drugstore cream bronzers
do. I don't know. You guys, please tell me this may not technically be drugstore. You can buy
these at Ulta and they're really not that expensive in the grand scheme of things. You get a ton of
product in here. This is a Juvia's Place cream bronzer in the shade buttercream. I've been using
this bronzer for a very long time and I haven't even hit pan. And in my opinion, I think this is
kind of a Duke for the say cream bronzer, which I absolutely love, but I honestly think I like
this finish a little bit more because it actually has like super, super fine pearls throughout,
which sounds weird. Okay. I don't usually like a glowy bronzer, but you can't actually see the
glitter in this product. And honestly, I shouldn't even say glitter. It's more like pearls. And it
just sits on the skin in such a natural way. It's not like a super flat mat. It just looks like your
skin is kind of like juicy and bronzed and hydrated. And not to mention this color, if you
are a pale skin girly, unreal. And if you do have darker skin, Juvia's Place has a ton of darker
options, which is awesome because I think a lot of drugstore bronzers don't cater to deeper skin
tones. I know it's a huge issue, but these really do. I really like to pair this product with my
Refi dual ended brush that I'm using. I just like to kind of apply it more strategically on my face
with the dense side. And then I flipped the brush over and I just go over everything with the dual
fiber side. And it just makes my bronzer look so airbrushed. This is probably one of the most
buttery, natural looking, blendable cream bronzers that I've ever used. This bronzer really does win
points for the shade range, the blendability, the finish. If I could only keep one cream bronzer,
it honestly might be this one. Now for blush, which is one of my favorite parts of my makeup
routine. I have loved this next product for a long time and it is so affordable. This is the
Elf Camo Liquid Blush, specifically in the shade Peach Perfect, but they have a lot of really
beautiful shades in this blush. A little goes a long way, which leads me to my next point. I really
think these are a dupe for the Rare Beauty blushes. I'm so sorry, Rare Beauty, I love you, but I
actually prefer these blushes and they are a fraction of the price. These are very easy to
blend out and they're a lot harder to overdo than the Rare Beauty blushes. Again, this is just one
of my favorite blush shades to ever exist, honestly. This specific blush would definitely be
one of my top blushes to keep. If I could only keep like three to five blushes, this one would
be one of them that I'm keeping. So quick and easy to blend out. You can really build up the shades
to get a more intense finish. And again, you get so much product, you really only need a tiny little
bit. And again, this blush is not going to fade by the end of the night. It's going to look good
all day long. And you know what's funny? This is actually really pretty on the lip and it is such
a long wearing almost liquid lipstick. I'll like tap this in the center of my lip and it looks
so stunning. But I have a lipstick that I want to talk about later in today's video that is just
divine. I don't normally do my brows on camera, but I have to show you guys this brow pencil.
This is the Morphe Nano Brow Pencil and I'm using the shade Java. This is easily a dupe for the
Benefit Brow Pencil or even the Kosas Brow Pencil at a fraction of the cost. Comes with a spoolie
on the end, which I love. And this just has such a precise tip. It is not too dry that the pencil
is crumbly and breaks, which is so annoying when that happens. I find that actually happens with
the Benefit one and it's not too wet that it looks too heavy when you apply it to your brows.
This gives a very natural effect on the brows. You can really get hair like strokes and this
brow pencil wears really nicely throughout the day. I really feel like honestly for the price,
you can't beat it because I honestly go through brow pencils pretty quickly and an expensive brow
pencil just really adds up. And when something like this exists, just why? Why spend the extra
money? And I know this might sound weird, but I always go in and set my brows with setting powder.
And I'm going to be using this setting powder later today. Honestly, again, one of the best
setting powders I've ever used at a drugstore price. Low key, what I will say, a dupe for the
Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder, but I'll show you her in action later. This just really locks my
brows into place. So I've recently really fallen in love with this brow gel. This is the Maybelline
Super Lock Brow Glue. And I really think this is a dupe for the Rare Beauty Brow Gel, which I also
absolutely love. But again, this is a cheaper price and for me with brow gel, if it does the same
thing, why spend the extra money? Like it's a clear brow gel. All I really want is a nice brush,
which this is so similar to the Rare Beauty brush. And I just want my brows to stay in place all day.
I don't want them to get flaky and dusty and crusty. But another thing I really like about
this is it's in like kind of a squeezy, flexible tube. So I can really push the product onto the
brush, especially when I'm running out. If you haven't tried this brow gel, honestly, unreal.
Sorry to interrupt, but I'm just going to take a couple seconds of your time. I genuinely think
you guys are going to love this. This little section of today's video is actually sponsored
by Shopmy. And I'm actually working with them because honestly, one of the most annoying things
to me about beauty content creators is when someone talks about a product and then you can
honestly never find it later. They don't link it, nothing. So for videos like this, what I've
actually been doing is organizing all of my products into the Shopmy app, including the
luxury versions and the affordable dupes, the exact shades, all of it. It honestly just makes
it so much easier to compare different products, to save them for later. So you don't have to
remember what you were interested in when you were watching a YouTube video a couple weeks ago.
I know for me, I'll see something, but I don't want to buy it right then. I'll want to buy it later.
This just makes it so much easier. So if you want all the products from today's video, all in one
place, which includes the dupes and the high end versions, make sure you download the Shopmy app
from my link below and follow me on there. Now for setting spray. I'm very particular about my
setting sprays. I want my setting spray to actually do something for me. I want it to make my makeup
last longer. I want it to make my makeup look better and all melted together and all that good
stuff. I'm going in with the Morphe Life Proof Continuous Setting Mist. I really think this is a
dupe for the one size setting spray, except I like this mister better. It's more of a light mister.
The one size feels a little bit like hairspray being sprayed onto your face. And I know I've
talked about the L'Oreal Paris Setting Spray, which is also really good, but again, it just
feels a little bit heavy. And you know what? To give the one size and the L'Oreal their credit,
they might be a little more long wearing just a touch, but this one makes a noticeable difference
in how long my makeup wears. And honestly, this is just such a more pleasant user experience
than some of those other ones that I mentioned that feel a little heavy duty. I don't know if
you can see on camera, but it's very light. It smells nice. And I feel like it just gives my
face a nice even layer of setting spray. I think I'm going to go in a different order today. I think
I'm going to move on to lips actually. This lip liner, it might make some of you a little upset.
This is the Versed Lip Frame Contour. And this is what I wanted the road lip liners to be. I just
didn't really like the road lip liners. I don't usually like something like this that you can't
get a really sharp edge with, but this one, the color, not only is the color gorgeous, but this
is just such a nice application. Let me just show you. This lip liner is truly one that you don't
need to sharpen to get a nice precise edge. I don't know how they managed to nail the shape,
but it just works. This is something you can keep in your purse in the car without a sharpener handy
and just always be able to touch up your lip and have it look nice. The shape is also really
convenient because you can over line, but you can also fill in your lips. And this formula is not
super matte and dry. It's actually a little bit more of a glossy slash satin finish, not glossy,
but it's definitely got a sheen. So the only downside to that is it doesn't wear as long as
a classic lip pencil, but it lasts just as long, if not longer than the road, in my opinion.
And then for lipstick, you guys know I love a good nude lipstick. And again, it's kind of hard
to find at the drugstore, but this one is so cheap and so good. This is the Essence Slim Stick
and I honestly think this is a dupe for a lot of high-end matte lipsticks. I actually think it looks
very similar on the lips to the Patrick Ta matte lipsticks. Even the Westman Atelier matte lipsticks
look very similar to this on the lips. I'm just going to tap this in the center of my lip and
something I just love about this, I love the slim stick. It makes applying it so precise and easy,
but I also just really love how long this lasts throughout the day. I really don't need to worry
about touching my lips up if I'm wearing this lipstick. And this color is just perfect for
every day. This is the shade over the nude. Obsessed with these. So that lipstick is pretty matte, but
if you want more of a glossy finish, I have the perfect product for you. This is the Versed Tinted
Lip Serum Soft Gloss, and these are 100% a dupe for the Hourglass ones at a literal fraction of
the cost. And again, these look so pretty on the lip. They're so easy to apply. These give a beautiful
glossy finish, and these feel so plush and hydrating on the lips. I honestly like the feel
of these on the lips better than the Hourglass ones. These are formulated with shea butter and
vitamin E, so I think that's why they feel so good on the lips. But how gorgeous is that color? This
is in the shade Compliment. I love Hourglass, don't get me wrong, but with this on the market,
I just don't feel like there's any reason to spend that much money on a lip product. This is just as
Let's move on to the eyes. This has been my favorite palette for a while now. I've been
reaching for this one like every day. This is the Morphe Moonstone Eyeshadow Palette. This has 12
different shades. I am a matte girly, so I pretty much exclusively use the matte shades in this
palette. But something that I love about this particular palette, they do have a bunch of other
shades if you're interested in that. But I love that they have a bright white highlight color
that works on even me with such fair skin. Sometimes it's hard to get a bright highlighting
color. It also has a black shadow for winged liner. It has a good variety of browns ranging
from cool to neutral, light to dark. And then of course you have some beautiful shimmers. I just
don't wear a lot of shimmer, but these are great shimmers. I also talked about this palette in my
best eyeshadow palettes video. If you want to see all of these swatches, I will put that video on
the screen. But I'm just going to do my signature sort of eye look that I do with this palette.
I'm going to mix these two shades together to make my perfect crease shape. And this is a
Refer27 brush. I'm just fluffing that into the crease. These are the most buttery, easy to blend
matte eyeshadows. And I'm going to be honest, and I know this is kind of crazy to say, but I do feel
like a lot of the shades in this palette are kind of a dupe for the Makeup By Mario Master Matte
Neutrals. And there is a significant price difference between the two. And just being so
honest, these apply very similar. Obviously there are a few shades in this palette that aren't in
Makeup By Mario and vice versa. This one is obviously not an all matte. It has shimmers.
Don't get me wrong. I do recommend the Makeup By Mario all day long. But if you're on a budget,
you cannot beat this eyeshadow palette. A lot of the time, I'll just kind of leave my eyeshadow
like this because I love the subtle definition that it gives. But I'm going to show you how nice
this light matte eyeshadow is. I'm just going to pick it up on a brush because sometimes lighter
shades can be like a bit chalky and not pigmented. But this one actually builds pigment really easily
and it does not look chalky on the lids at all. And I personally really like a bright eyelid. I
don't know. I just think it makes me look more fresh and awake and complete, honestly. I even
like to put a little touch of this in the inner corner for some brightness. And I love doing
winged liner with eyeshadow because it's so easy. I always either use the black or one of the dark
browns. But in today's look, I think I'm going to go for the black because again, this is a really
nice pigmented black eyeshadow and it's hard to find that in drugstore palettes specifically.
Honestly, I feel like it's hard to find good drugstore eyeshadow palettes in general, but
this is all you need. They also make a smaller six pan version, I believe, which I will also
link below that are great. I really just feel like that looks so good and it's so easy and so
beginner friendly to just do your liner with a eyeshadow. I just feel like that looks so good
and it's so beginner friendly, so easy to do winged liner with an eyeshadow, especially these
eyeshadows. I'll also link the brush that I used for this down below because this is one of the
best eyeliner brushes I've ever used. Not drugstore, but it's very good. Now for mascara. There are a
lot of good drugstore mascaras. I do think mascara is a little bit personal. Everyone wants something
a little bit different. Everyone's lashes are a little bit different. For me, I think what I'll
just say is my lashes are not long, but I do have a lot of lashes, although they're not thick. What I
look for in a mascara, personally, I like a bit more of a lengthened, fluttery, natural look than
something very thick and volumized. So for me, one of my favorite mascaras of all time, high and low
end, any mascara to exist is the L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara. I have probably gone through
at least 10 tubes of this mascara. I love it so much. I love the thin little brush. You can really
get in there and coat your top lashes, your bottom lashes, and this never clumps on me. It builds up,
so you can get a little bit of volume. It's definitely not the most volumizing mascara ever,
but you can totally layer it with volumizing mascara. And since I don't have the longest
lashes, I do find this mascara in particular gives me the appearance of the most lengthened
lashes that I've ever had. Not only all of that, but this holds a curl on me and it doesn't smudge
or flake, which it just checks all the boxes for me. I can't think of a specific mascara that this
is a dupe for, but I will say this. I think that this is better than 99% of all of the high end
mascaras out there. Mascaras are just one of those things that I think you don't personally need to
spend a lot of money on. There are just so many good options at the drugstore. This one being at
the top of the list for me personally. Let's get into some powders, shall we? I've got setting
powder. I've got a powder blush I want to talk about. I even have a powder bronzer. I really
want to show you the setting powder because it is that good. This is the Maybelline Fit Me Loose
Finishing Powder. And I kid you not, this is like copy and paste hood of beauty easy bake at, again,
a fraction of the price. You get so much product in here. It's actually insane. This does not crease
under my eyes and it gives my eyes the most filtered, flawless, smooth look. I'm pretty
picky about setting powders too because they're another one of those things that can subtly
make or break your entire makeup look. But if you want an inexpensive powder that makes you look
like you are wearing a filter in real life, this one will do that for you. Look how I've blurred
my under eyes and my chin. I don't usually powder my forehead either, but I'm just going to show you
because this is going to blur and mattify my entire forehead. Look at that difference. It
just completely removed all the shine, but my makeup still looks natural. It doesn't look heavy
and this doesn't get cakey and gummy either. Super slept on powder in my opinion. I'm going to go in
with some powder bronzer, but this product actually gets points for being a really great cream and
powder bronzer. This is a Morphe Cheek Thrills Bronze and Tone Duo in the shade Capri Cabana.
And I'm not going to lie, this is a total dupe for the Patrick Ta. I actually think this formula
might be a little better in my opinion, especially the cream bronzer. This is a runner up to the
Juvia's Place in terms of cream bronzers from the drugstore that I actually like. So if you're
looking for a two-in-one product, this really is it. And again, this shade for my pale skin girlies, it is
so good and very rare to find at the drugstore. This just melts into the skin, it's not too pigmented,
super easy to use, and it just gives a really nice warmth that I want, especially in these spring
summer months. It just looks so pretty. This is definitely a product that I'm going to take with
me when I travel and I just want two products in one, super easy to use. They also have a pretty
good shade range for these two, so bonus points there. And now for blush. This is actually an
insane dupe. This is the Milani Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso, such a famous shade. And I
actually find these blushes to look on the cheek quite similar to the Hourglass Baked Blushes.
The price difference is actually wild. I will say these have a lot more fallout in the pen than the
Hourglass ones do, but on the cheek these just look so stunning. They add a little bit of luminosity
to the skin, which I like, but they don't emphasize texture. Like look, that is, this shade is iconic
for a reason. The only thing is I just wish they didn't have so much fallout because I do notice
the fallout quite a bit on these when I pick them up from the pen. Oh, so pretty. Obsessed with this
blush color. You guys, please let me know down below your favorite drugstore products. I'm dying
to try new drugstore products and you guys influence me all the time to try your recommendations, so
I'm going to meet you guys in the comment section. If you want me to do more drugstore videos, let me
know by giving this video a thumbs up so I know you want more. And if you haven't already, make
sure you subscribe to the channel. I have a lot of educational content coming and makeup reviews.
Thank you so much for watching and I will see you in the next one.
