Five women embark on a five-day mobile wellness retreat across California in a converted shuttle bus named Topanga. The journey explores the realities of nomadic living, blending rustic experiences at farms and vineyards with moments of luxury, all while fostering female bonding and a shift in perspective.
Have you ever wondered what life is really like as a full-time nomadic traveler?
Can you really be comfortable in such a tiny space?
Okay, it's at the moment of no return.
Can you really eat healthy on the road?
Pickles! Everyone can dig in.
Basically, could this lifestyle really be for me?
30 minute timer at the gas station.
30 minute timer!
Well, myself and four other amazing women from all around the country are meeting up to find out.
This week, we are traveling through California and Yoga Gab's home on wheels.
We planned an epic five-day mobile women's wellness retreat
where all of us live together in a converted shuttle bus
and experience the west coast of California in a whole new perspective.
We believe that the only thing that can limit you is your perspective
and that you are limitless.
We're on a mission not just to survive, but to thrive.
And our journey begins in the iconic Palm Springs.
I am officially boarding headed to San Francisco for a layover before we head to Palm Springs.
There she is! And by she, I mean Topanga.
Hi!
Knock, knock!
Hi!
Come closer to the camera and then like,
feels really awkward but it's gonna look really good.
Like, where are we?
Palm Springs.
So all but one of us has landed.
We're just hanging out in a parking lot, making some lunch,
just waiting for our last girl to arrive.
We're gonna go pick her up so that we can head to the hot springs
and tattoos is also on the itinerary for this evening.
We're here getting set up at Mineral Springs Date Farm.
This is a harvest host location that lets you stay here for free.
We have a very private spot with access to a yurt.
We are filling our own tub.
We sprinkled some essential oils in here
and then we're all gonna get to relax and soak later
and have a chilly chocolate dinner tonight.
Pickles! Everyone can dig in.
Pickle, pickle!
Sun pillow in the background.
Okay, it's at the moment of no return.
I always get so nervous right before.
This is Kai, our amazing tattoo artist and in the comfort of her own home.
You're doing great and it's gonna turn out great.
Day one was a complete success.
It was travel day.
People from traveled all over the country to be here.
It's been a big day of integration.
So we made sure to really just relax and nourish ourselves today
and now everybody's just winding down for a much-needed night's sleep.
We're princesses.
Gap has made Topanga super cozy.
Such a perfect little home on wheels.
So we all slept super comfortable on the bus together all night long.
So we're just finishing up last-minute tattoos this morning.
How's it going?
I like how the placement changed.
I know.
Yeah.
Today we are venturing out on a four-hour drive to Santa Barbara
where we will be checking into a hotel
because that's the beauty of this nomadic lifestyle
that sometimes you can end up in places like this in the middle of the desert
and then the very next day you can be in a nice luxurious hotel in Santa Barbara.
We're all packed up ready to hit the road for day two.
So that's amazing.
We're gonna be there at five o'clock right on time.
they treat me like a son anywhere i go
and even though no one can tell
i still feel that i'm alone
i'm alone
leave me stranded i know how
to handle it all on my own
on my own
After five long hours, we finally made it here.
Who is it?
Hey guys, come on in.
We treat you in a little boat.
Perfect.
We're hot tub soaking, jumping in the pool, and taking hot showers.
Oh that's like pleasant.
We did it.
We just finished the most hearty dinner.
Gab made this homemade beautiful purple potato soup
that we had with fresh sourdough bread and the most delicious butter.
Amazing.
Everyone's fed, everyone's happy, everyone showered,
and now my task is to do some living on the road things.
I have brought up all of our dishes from the last two days
and we're gonna get them clean because we have a sink,
we have running water,
really excited to be experiencing this alongside other women,
especially other women who haven't had an opportunity to see what it's like to live nomadically.
It's been a great bonding experience.
Everybody's been getting a whole new perspective.
Everybody say hi.
We're headed back to the bus for some breakfast before hitting the road.
Gonna try and drive an hour and then we're gonna stop at a gas station.
We're 30 minute timer at the gas station.
We're doing great right now.
We have like hour 45 to play with right now.
Arrival time 2.22.
Let's see what time we actually get there, okay?
We'll see.
But 2.22, it's a good omen.
It's a good omen.
Let's go.
So we just got to Santa Cruz and just as life on the road will lead you.
This is my front door handle and it's in my hand not on the door.
Holding it closed with the dog leash.
Thanks, Max.
Thanks, TJ.
Just in time before sunset, we were able to enjoy some dinner,
replace the doorknob which was much much needed.
And now we're just taking a little beach walk as we watch the sunset.
Perfect way to end day three.
We're gonna get packed up, get back on the road.
We have about a 25 minute drive to our Harvest Host location tonight.
Get nice and cozy, wake up tomorrow at a beautiful vineyard.
Getting excited for day four.
Let's go.
We just arrived to our Harvest Host location.
We got here just after dark but they have very little light pollution.
We're really excited to wake up tomorrow to really get to see where we are at.
We woke up this morning to a nice crisp foggy morning
so we couldn't quite see the vineyard that we were staying at.
We wanted to get an early start on our travel day
so we just decided to head into town,
stopped at a local bakery and a beautiful market called Wild Roots.
We were able to get everything that we need for the road trip ahead of us.
It was such a quaint perfect little town.
This is no joke.
Seriously though, like one of the best lattes I have ever had.
I have no idea what that is though.
It's good.
What is it?
It's like lemony.
I thought it was gonna be like a pistachio muffin.
So then we just decided to get a head start on our travel day.
We traveled two hours north driving through the San Francisco Bay
which was still pretty foggy.
Foggy foggy views all the way through today.
Parked.
But now the sun is shining.
We're hanging out here at a local park while the girls take turn getting massages.
Day four has definitely been a restful rejuvenating and relaxing day.
Let the fog be fogging.
The fog be fogging.
The baby dance.
We just look like we're driving through clouds.
We're actually coming into the sky.
We're getting prepped and ready to start dinner.
We're gonna make some mini pizzas tonight.
So there's a lot of different options that everyone can enjoy
before we head to where we're staying tonight.
We're gonna be staying at Pocket Creek Farm.
A cute quaint little produce farm up in northern California.
All the frogs.
Yeah.
Good morning.
We made it to Pocket Creek last night.
And can you believe it?
In the dark again.
But we have been killing these travel days.
We have covered so many miles in such a short amount of time
and got to give these women a taste of life out on the road.
We woke up to a nice foggy misty morning again surrounded by gorgeous redwood trees.
Then we're headed back to the coast to see the ocean again before we all leave each other.
Plan for today is having beach meditation,
saying our goodbyes,
and doing airport drop-offs.
So grateful and so thankful for this amazing new perspective week
of life on the road with all these women.
I'm so excited to be able to do something like this again in the future.
This is the skin killer beach.
Poop bags.
Poop bags!
Cleaning up after our dogs.
Pack in, pack out.
Mama gab.
Just working so hard at breakfast.
We love and appreciate you more than anything.
Thank you.
Seriously.
Sorry, I have to be annoying.
I feel like maybe I should put it back out of kindness.
I don't know.
I think it's gonna be- I think we shouldn't touch it.
Yeah, I was like, is it even safe to touch it?
Because of the tide, yeah.
I know.
I'm just bored.
Let's do it.
Getting to show these amazing women alongside Yoga Gab
the raw and idealistic truths about full-time travel was life-changing.
The bonds and new perspectives that were cultivated throughout the week
will continue to ripple through everyone's lives in their own unique ways.
We called this retreat a new perspective
and what a beautiful perspective we all have now together in our memories.
Later skaters!
Bye!
you
