The creator returns to Manila, Philippines, for a solo trip to participate in Vlogfest Philippines. The journey blends nostalgic visits to her old neighborhood in Makati, a focus on her content creation workflow, and the kickoff of a competitive filmmaking event with other creators.
I'm finally back in the Philippines and this time I'm traveling alone.
I'll tell you why in today's Manila vlog.
Hello and welcome from the Philippines.
I am so back.
I'm so excited to be in my old old neighborhood in Makati.
I'm currently on my way to the Power Plant Mall, Rockwell to upload a vlog.
Like in the good old times.
And on my way walking here because there were so many things that I
kind of like soaked up and took a lot of it for granted.
I was just looking around and there are so many
things that are so Filipino that it's kind of like it puts a smile on my face.
I'm excited to take you along on this trip.
I'm going to explain a little bit more in detail.
And besides getting some work done, I also need to have a bite.
You guys know me for quite some time.
You know, there's one spot I always go to when I come back to Manila.
And that is the legendary Pilios Kitchen lamb cumin noodles.
I'm so excited to have some.
A little appreciation for how clean it is here.
So, so nice.
Hello.
OK, I found a cafe to squeeze in some work before this whole adventure starts.
And I'm so excited.
But what you don't see during these trips is the work that goes in behind the scenes.
So I need to find a spot where I can work in quiet.
Also do some editing if necessary, which is always necessary.
And when I edit, sound is everything.
I need to hear all the small details.
I need to be able to cut out the noise around me.
And sometimes it's quite a lot.
This is honestly why I've been using the Soundcore Space 2 lately.
But it's not just for work.
Music inspires me creatively and it really affects my mood.
I spend so much time listening to music.
So it is really, really important to me what kind of headphones I'm using.
And these headphones from Soundcore are so light.
I even sometimes forget that I'm wearing them.
I had them on for like six hours of editing and my ears didn't hurt at all.
And I remember having different headphones in the past
that really put too much pressure on my ears.
So this is something that is really important to me.
The cushions are memory foam, so they don't just mold to your head.
And of course, the sound quality is what keeps me using them.
I can hear every layer in a track, which matters when I'm syncing music for footage.
And the bass doesn't muddy out the dialogue.
Oh, and of course, the battery.
Five minutes of charging gives you four hours of playback.
I personally have been loving them.
They're so soft.
They're so comfortable, very light and noise cancelling.
It's everything for my line of work, traveling, being at the airports,
being on planes, trying kids.
So yeah, definitely worth having these on your trip.
It feels so good to be at the mall.
I miss this.
I mean, I live on an island and we don't have the nice malls on Bali.
There we go, the grid.
Okay, there are many amazing food stalls here, but there's only the only one.
Hello.
Can I have the cumin lamb noodles dry?
And the pork and shrimp dumplings?
One cumin lamb dry and five shrimp dumplings.
And some water, please.
I want way more, but I cannot eat much.
Alrighty.
Food was so quick.
Wow, wow, wow, wow.
Lamb cumin noodles, my go-to.
And the dumplings.
I really wanted to order more and I regret that my boyfriend is not here
because otherwise we would have ordered so much.
But I can come back anytime.
Yum, yum, yum, yum.
Look at that.
Wow.
Look at this deliciousness.
Yum.
Don't spit it, laddy.
It's so good.
It's going to make me cry.
Nobody does it like Pilya's kitchen.
Wherever I travel in the world, she has the best.
Shout out to Prisa.
Oh my god.
Hello.
Yum.
Delicious.
Can I have one small piece of the original cheesecake?
Slice, yeah.
Okay, the cheesecake is secured.
Oh my god, look at that goodness over here.
Very good that they gave me two forks.
Sorry, it's just for me.
Fernie, the second one.
Look at that.
Wow.
So yummy.
There's a little bit of salt on top, lemon zest.
Oh my god, I'm going to be proud.
Okay, I literally came out of the mall and all of a sudden it was dark.
I had no idea that it gets dark this early.
But here we are.
I'm currently rushing to an event.
And the actual reason why I'm here is because of the Vlogfest.
If you guys remember, I think it was like three, four years ago,
I attended the Vlogfest in Croatia.
Spent two amazing weeks there.
Filmed a lot of amazing content.
Yeah, we're kicking off Vlogfest Philippines,
meaning we're going to be a few content creators
that are going to travel around the Philippines,
capture the best moments, the best parts of the Philippines,
and create a video to compete against each other.
And you guys can vote who did it best.
So hopefully, I'll do it best.
And right now, we are at What's Your Poison,
which is a bar in Poblacion.
And we're going to have a little welcome party.
Hello.
Wow.
Thank you.
Oh, it's so dark.
There you go.
Hello, welcome to the vlog.
Hi, Will.
Mr. Dazovic.
And Mr. Marsh.
All right, we are at the event.
And there's currently a magic show happening.
This magician, mentalist, performed it on me just earlier.
So I didn't vlog it.
But I wanted to show you what he's capable of.
That's crazy.
So it's magic of clothes.
What we usually use as everyday objects,
like cards, coins, phones.
We can start with something like cards.
Let's make things more unique.
Shane, can you write your name nice and big?
It's a very simple trick.
It goes in the middle.
Here's what's going to happen.
The card is going to go to the top.
In three, two.
Check it out.
That's not very impressive.
But you've seen that trick before.
I'll make things more different.
I'll make this card invisible.
It's gone.
It's not here.
I told you it's invisible.
Okay, I'm going to talk about Austin.
Austin.
Should be on top.
Oh my god.
Will, since you're already here.
I want you to choose a card.
Are you complicit in this?
Why don't you write it nice?
You have to laugh.
Watching Edward said it was funny.
Okay, it's easy for you.
This time you choose a card.
Just say stop anytime you want.
Let's make things more unique.
So we have Will and the queen of clubs.
And Shane's 12 diamonds.
Hold on to your 12 diamonds and remember your name.
Look, it's still here.
It's invisible.
No way, no way.
No, show me.
Go, hurry up.
I want to see.
Go, show me.
Show me.
I tried to make it really small.
It's okay, it's okay.
We're good, we're good.
On my lap.
Okay, so everybody say
In three, two, one.
Tune into my next vlog to see my Taiwanese friend
trying out Jollibee for the first time ever.
