WEEK IN MY LIFE VLOG 🍵✨ What's Really Been Going On With My Skin + SET Active Pop-Up in Austin

Hey y'all, what's up? Welcome to a new vlog. My name is Sonali if you guys are new here. I am 29 years old I live in Austin, Texas with my fiance and we have a very eventful week this week So I thought I would make a whole vlog about it I always want to try to do week in my life, but I feel like monday is always an admin day So I just never get around to vlogging on monday, but it is tuesday And today is blues on the green this happens every single year and it's like back-to-back days It's pretty much a free concert at zilker. I feel like we haven't been in a very long time I will say it's a lot of like logistical prepping because traffic's horrible. I mean, there's so many people it is a free event So totally fair, but we are prepped and ready this time I bought new lawn chairs and I packed a whole bag of like bug spray Especially because these bugs have been eating me alive But first we are headed out to happy hour at one of my favorite sushi spots here in town I feel like everyone always comes to me and asks what are my sushi recs because I eat sushi a lot I think soto on south lamar is a very very underrated sushi spot when we first moved here That was like a pop in place, but I feel like no one talks about it now just because there are so many competitors It's funny because I got engaged Last year in april and it was like in the morning time And so my family flew in and I got to see them But then they left us for lunch because basically we were leaving them to go see all of our friends They went to soto for lunch and I was honestly so pissed because they keep bringing it up and they're like, oh my god That was like the best sushi ever and like my dad has traveled to a lot of places So for him to say that was the best sushi ever and keep bringing it up Like it had to be so good and you can't beat happy hour So i'm actually meeting up with my friends that moved here that were in my sorority at ucs as an adult It's so hard for all of our calendars to align and we had something scheduled I think like last month But one of the girls got sick. So we just did a rain check but straight from there We are headed to blues on the green so I can't wait to take you guys along ryan's trying on an outfit tonight Are we serious or no? I mean when else would you wear it, but it's not like a costume thing Something that would not be so hot, but is it pretty hot? But I do want to bring my new hat that I got from the newest hat bar in town It's called rancher hat bar. It's so cute. Look at this Wait, you can't even see it. Okay. Well it has like an animal print little band on it and a feather It's supposed to be 102 or feel like 102 Stunning we're gonna be dripping sweat tonight I'm here with my girls diane and tori. They were my sorority sisters. Well are my sorority sisters aot girls Yeah Decided like okay, we'll go back to board got the soto 2.0 the crunchy salmon which is off menu you have to get this and then Hamachi apple So excited. It looks so good we got brand new lawn chairs overnighted them when I was on and I did not think that we would have to like build them up, but They work. They're good, especially because they're not too high So we're not blocking anyone's view Last night was so much fun at blues on the green. It was so chill Honestly, like I always get so scared of like logistics Getting there parking then at the end of the night getting picked up by the uber and just like the uber costs and All of these logistics kind of make me stay at home more. But honestly, it was not bad at all Thank god. It was just very chill and it was nice to be outside. We honestly don't go to zoker very often I feel like we used to go a lot when we first moved here But we don't go very often because our favorite park is auditorium shores and plus our little angel Sophie doesn't really like grass. She like doesn't love to run around I mean she likes to play ball, but she'd rather play ball on cement or like indoors on wood so even if we take her to the park She lasts 10 minutes because it does get so hot and she gets really tired super easily I mean she is 13 years old you guys She's like the age of me and ryan's relationship. Isn't that crazy? We got her I think a couple months before me and ryan started dating Sophie was my family dog if you guys didn't know this and me and ryan adopted her actually ryan adopted her first because I was living in the sorority house at the time and I couldn't have a dog but my parents were going through a divorce Unfortunately, we are both children of divorce. It's a little tmi for this morning But today i'm really excited because i'm meeting up with a content creator here in austin I saw one of her videos on I think it was my photo account on tiktok and basically She's a travel content creator and I just loved her video so much She was actually taking photos and videos of this cabo resort We were looking at when we were like touring venues and stuff And then I like binged all her videos and one of the vlogs said she lived in austin and I was like wait That's crazy. And then I looked and she was literally following me. So I was like, you know what? Let me just dm her so we're going to a little lunch coffee date today I don't know how to say this place, but it has some of the best pastries in austin. It is called Episcopal episcopal is my goal to ask them today and find out how you pronounce this place We just got done with lunch at I ----, how do you say epicure epicure Is that epicure because I literally told the vlog I was like i'm gonna find out how to pronounce it and I did not I was saying epicery or wait. No, that's so much better epicery. No, but you're no. No, I think that's so wrong We could easily google it. So maybe that's what we'll do after this, but it was a good place nonetheless It was yummy and I made a new friend. Yes, and natalie does. Um travel No hospitality photography, right? Yes commercial photography for hospitality clients so cool, and it's so interesting because it's like the same industry, but like so many like Different things. There's so much like I feel like there's so many different niches that you can kind of find within it But like similar day to day, I guess. Yeah. No, that's true. It's more pain points editing Exactly. Like we we get each other. Yeah And it's nice because we both are self-employed. She just went full self-employed. So that's exciting and Like we don't have co-workers. So it's just nice to be able to meet up like Throughout the day and get out of the house and get it out of our heads Because I feel like in this industry you get in your head a lot. Yeah a thousand percent We were right by shoal creek nursery. You guys know I have an addiction to plants. It's unfortunate But this is just the homeowner life right now So we are gonna go check it out and was like you should come with so let's do it. Yeah Uh-huh, it's necessary I know. All right guys got a few of my favorite flowers These are vincas and they do so well in pulsine and we do have a lot of that in the backyard So i'm excited to plant these that was such a fun little meetup and it's so refreshing to talk to other people that are self-employed even though she kind of just started but just Having the same like business mindset and mentality as other people It's just so nice to talk to someone who you know gets it It's like I can vent to ryan as much as I want but at the end of the day He might not like fully understand it. That's kind of like the same thing when he talks to me about golf. I'm just like Mm-hmm you shot a 87 Is that good or bad? I know there are probably so many people that are moving to austin and finding my videos Some people like literally stop me in the streets of austin They're like I moved here because I saw your videos and they just like made me so excited to move here And that means so much to me and I like really want to get back more into like the austin content Especially because i'm here for pretty much the whole summer I don't have too much going on except we are going to cabo and it's coming up very very soon For our wedding planning and or just wedding tasting makeup hair trial. Oh my god, like that is going to feel so real Like it doesn't feel completely real yet I have been working on the designs or no the invites and I am hiring out for that I was planning on doing them myself and diying it because I have the cricket and the printer combo but honestly I think it was a good choice to just Hire out for it because I feel so relieved that that's kind of like taken off my plate If you're new to austin you may be wondering like how the hell do I even find out about events like blues on the green? Or like what's happening around the city? So I did want to share a couple of my favorite instagram pages that I like to follow And where I get my information so number one is like the most iconic Is when we're what austin it's the one with just like the blue Squares and it just says all the information you need to know very straight to the point very on brand which I like Another one is 365 things austin. I would say this account posts a lot of interesting news articles and just like I don't know other things going on in the city It may not be all events But very cool page to follow shelby sorelle is like one of the og foodie influencers here in austin And I love her photos and I just feel like she has all the connects. She's very in the foodie scene She knows the right people so she knows about a lot of the newest like restaurant launches So I love following her you can follow the atx drinker to keep up with like all the bar Openings and just like where to go to have a good time. Lastly. You can follow me on instagram and tiktok I love trying out new restaurants and new coffee shops whenever I get a free and full weekend in austin I am like going to all the places I have saved on my instagram. It's funny because natalie actually asked me What are my go-to spots and I I don't know I can't really think of like a go-to spot because I'm always trying to find somewhere new I mean I I definitely have my go-tos for like specific cuisines But if you want to know those you got to like dm me and be like I want really good mexican That's like in this price range like you got to be so specific I'm, so excited because I just got an email from a brand that i've worked with before That's one of my dream brands anthropology weddings and they want me to do a brand deal like literally tomorrow And get it posted the next day. This has to be one of the fastest turnarounds I've had in my content creation career and I could not say no because It's literally one of my favorite brands and even though i'm not getting my dress from anthropology weddings I still love anthropology as a brand. So I was like, yes. Yes. Yes, like count me in So we are going to try to fit that in my schedule tomorrow I'm, also so excited because i'm going to the set active pop-up. It is the preview event. It's on south congress like prime location It's gonna be so good and I love everything set I've been a huge fan ever since like sculpt flex came out, which is like probably their first fabric So, like I said, we just have a very eventful week I took sophie on a walk and basically had to force myself outside I love seeing the sun for longer But also as a content creator as a self-employed girly like I don't know when to stop If it gets dark at 5 p.m. That tells myself like, okay, you need to stop working. You need to be Chilling relaxing making dinner unwinding but now that it's like sunny Even at eight o'clock i'm like, hmm I should probably still film and I need to keep editing and I need to just like Work work work work work So it's nice to be outside and usually when I do walk sophie i'm like editing while i'm walking her but I put it away I enjoyed all the nice flowers I took like a different route in my neighborhood and I didn't realize how Many like different little roses and all these plants just so beautiful Anytime I see a plant that I want to have in my garden I take a picture and put it through google or chat and I try to figure out if it would be good in my garden If it's full sun partial shade, is it a texas native? I've learned so much by doing that Let me do some skincare and I haven't used this tool in a while I cleaned out my drawer and kind of forgot I had it but this is the beauty bio glow pro It's basically a micro needling tool at home and I really want to start using it more often more consistently like every time I do skincare because when they were doing the demo I did like a master class brunch with them and it was so interesting Like I really love learning about products in that way and really hearing it straight from the founder It's super cool. It just makes you want to support the brand even more But basically they were showing us a side by side where they rolled this on their arm And then put the skincare on this side of their arm that they rolled And then the other and you could see the skincare just soaked up so much more into the micro needling side Basically, if you're buying such expensive skincare, you're not getting all of the benefits out of it, which is so interesting So I need to use this more because I do want to try this new skincare product I just saw a tiktok on and I recently got a sample through shopmite. It's this new brand Um, I think at sephora olivia umma And this is what i'm going to try out tonight It's like toner pads, but I saw someone like literally have glass skin after using that and I would love some glass skin for me so Let's try this out Another thing with the sun setting so late is that ryan plays golf all the time and now he's staying out until like 9 p.m So then in my mind i'm just like oh i'll just like wait to cook but then i'm eating so late Which is like not good to eat so late But then it does give me time to work and like film without him in the house Even though he's like seeing me do this. I don't even know if he like hears me filming half the time But in my head, I just feel like i'm so much more productive when he is out playing golf I also wanted to give you guys like a life slash health update. I guess I haven't really like talked about this on vlog I don't think in late february early march. I started getting this crazy rash on my back and I think it started from Being out in the sun. I was in the garden one day. It was a pretty cool day But my back was directly in the sun and I thought I got a heat rash I didn't get like quite a sunburn, but I definitely thought it was a heat rash and I never gotten that before it was just so itchy and like Really really like bumpy and just like did not look good After that, I started getting like really bad allergies like thought that was normal, you know was allergy season And then I started getting just so itchy on my back like constantly. I was just itching my back I started getting some eczema back in my arms, which i've definitely said this on the vlog before but I grew up with very very severe eczema I found out I was lactose intolerant and I had like so many random skin problems when I was younger and i'm very thankful that I outgrew it But I guess it's back and I literally have not had eczema in like 10 years So I was like what is going on, but my back was still itchy I was like getting all of these different creams on amazon like hydrocorazone anti-itch like gold bond anti-itch Like I was trying to get everything I could I just felt so itchy from like the inside And I couldn't do anything to stop it. I was taking allegra. I was taking allegra hives And then like one time I was in the shower. I just itched the ---- out of my chest Not thinking it was gonna scar. So now I have literal scratch lines all over my chest Perfect. My wedding year amazing. We're gonna get that healed super soon because that cannot be staying around This itchy feeling just makes me go absolutely insane Like I don't even know how to explain it then a bunch of like dry dark patches on my back started showing up And this whole time it was just like itchy and like maybe like a rash here and there sometimes But yeah, those brown patches started showing up. I was like, okay, this cannot happen Like again wedding year. We need to get this figured out asap So I finally went to the dermatologist you guys I should not have waited that long Because she basically just said it was an acute eczema flare-up Maybe a different kind of eczema that I had before I didn't know even there was like multiple types But that's basically what it was and she put me on steroids literally the first day I took them in like mid day and then by that evening, I swear to god like This I don't know if you see that that was kind of like a patch. It's like gone. It was dry. It was like kind of raised maybe it was just Nuts how fast that ---- worked and i'm really hoping Like I have to take four pills for like five days then like three pills for five days I'm gonna taper off the steroids basically and I really hope that it just never comes back because if it lingers around after that we're gonna have to like Take different measures which means like maybe injections really just hoping this all works out and like at the end of the steroids I'll never see this again but I just want to give you guys an update that i'm healing and i'm feeling so much better because like Sure, my skin is clear and that's what you guys see maybe on instagram reels when i'm posting my makeup stuff But like my eyes were so dry and always itchy And she said that all of this is kind of intertwined with all my allergy problems that i've been having And I thought that was very interesting. So I do feel a little bit better in my eyes as well And I just feel like i've been dealing with like this internally and you can't really like see it But I was just so uncomfortable And I was just like trying to deal with it and it I shouldn't have I shouldn't have I just should have gone to the doctor So this is your sign if there's something wrong with you for like more than I don't know two weeks Maybe get it checked out. I was just being lazy and I avoid the doctor at all costs So amazing news now, let me shut up and actually use this toner pad that has been Chillin. Oh Okay It feels so like luxurious I'm gonna have to get the bigger pack because I think they're just like a couple in this little Thing but that's perfect for travel too. That way you don't have to bring like a whole container I was feeling really dry before this like I feel like anytime I get out of the shower I need to moisturize immediately. Otherwise i'm like feeling so tight. I can barely talk My skin is just so dry. It's crazy. This is nice I guess that tiktok did not lie because like it just feels and looks so glowy Hydrated I do have a few more of these so i'm gonna zip this up and test it out over the next few days For dinner tonight. We are gonna do some steak fajitas just like a one pan one sheet pan Is that what it's called? I feel so dehydrated and a little off because I drank a matcha and I had a blue mini which I love that all these companies are going mini because I usually drink A lot of the mini cans like frescas diet cokes. I always have that outside fridge stocked with them I'm feeling a little jittery and just like dehydrated So i've been like nursing this coconut water because it's so good and I don't want it to end I just got it at heb and I saw this tiktok the other day saying that like if the coconut water is not pink it's not real coconut water or something like that and I was like I've literally had coconut water straight from a coconut and it's not pink So i'm like so confused but I will say that this pink coconut water Is delicious. This is the brand if you're ever at heb It tastes like so fresh and I hate that I love this because I don't think it was very cheap I freaking hate cutting onions Because I cry so easily we're gonna make this fast and hopefully painless And then the ice gets so watery and you can barely see anything but like there's a knife and your fingers involved i'm just like I'm, not really understanding How this is even possible i'm pretty much just gonna put the veggies in the oven first to like really cook And then we're gonna do the steak. Oh my god my freaking eyes You guys I grew up in georgia where we had access to a publix and I also went to school in orlando where we had public And honestly, I think heb is better. Okay. Oh, it's so bad today Okay. Anyways, I go back to florida often and then you know You get a pub sub here and there and the one thing I do like about publics is that they have every flavor you could Ever imagine for like oreos or like some random ---- like that like hawaiian rolls. They literally have every skew Under the sun for hawaiian rolls. Like I didn't even know they made like pretzel bites but anyways I do think heb is better because of all their like pre-made stuff And I got this. Um cookie dough dip the other day because I saw it on my tiktok page. It's this cream cheese cookie dough dip That they say to eat it with pretzels or strawberries and you get like the hydroponic strawberries. Is that what it's called hydroponic? anyways It's so good. It's funny because I filmed my first impressions of it for tiktok And I didn't like love it at first. I don't think I even could taste it for some reason The last time I was at heb I got it again. So obviously it's good I think i'm just gonna do bell peppers and onions and then steak And we have the heb tortillas damn this really should be sponsored by heb at this point just know I truly Truly like an heb moment It is nice knowing that we don't really have a ton of travel coming up because I can really get back into cooking and like a routine of eating at home I mean, don't get me wrong. I love eating out on the weekends, especially but On weekdays, it's just so easy to like save money and like do simple meals like this that tastes really good Knowing ryan is coming from gulf. He'll probably be starving. I can't imagine having a child that is a boy because You would just have to buy like quadruple the amount of food for your family. It's crazy Alexa set a timer for six minutes Here is the finished product i'm so excited to eat Good morning, we have a very very busy day today at least a busy morning because I Landed that brand deal literally yesterday and i'm filming today posting tomorrow So we have an appointment at 10 a.m at barton creek at the anthropology wedding store And then right from there we're gonna go to the set active pop-up influencer preview event I cannot wait to see what they have. I've been needing a new workout set So really really hoping that we get gifted a workout set just got here and we're 10 minutes early. So we are on time I look so naked right now. I'm just wearing this cute little target dress, but it is so funny because i'm here early It is 9 53 Which i'm so happy about because I really was like rushing the whole morning And now I feel like I can finally take a breath But everyone in the mall right now is just like walking around with their sneakers on like this is Their trail of the day and they're older But I just think it's so wholesome and cute that they're like using this place as a trail because it's like indoors a seed Totally fair totally valid I will probably be doing that Also, this mall is always popping whenever I go back home to georgia north point mall it's like a dead zone at least the last time I went and like every other mall I Do go to it's like so dead except for like the domain of course But like barton creek honestly is always popping and we come here a lot for the amc movies so sometimes we'll grab a snack like before the movies and If there's just so many people here i'm always so shocked These on sale too or just like some yes, these are gonna be in the sample sale perfect So eight hundred dollars for our last collection ball gown I am so silly. I had it on my packing list to pack my sneakers for this outfit in my bag But I forgot them so I had to run home real quick, which honestly was fine It worked out because we went so fast in anthropology I had that sales associate when I went to try on my wedding dresses I think it was like the second appointment I had there She's so nice and it was just like so helpful How fast she was being and we got out of there in like literally 45 minutes So it was perfect and now i'm on south congress about to head into the set active pop-up you guys i'm so pumped for this Like they have austin merch. I think they maybe are coming out with that later. I think right now it's like the set fair Collection. I need to figure out what it's actually called, but i'm so excited I'm gonna take advantage of getting this like influencer preview and post my content literally right after the event because it's beneficial for me and set active because People will like want to know what it looks like. They'll want to know what they can get So it just kind of gets me more engagement, but then it's also beneficial for them too because it's promo for them Today is already such a good day because there's so many like fun things to do but I also got some really fun opportunities in my inbox today and like It's so weird with this content creation stuff because there can be weeks that you're like, okay, like am I flopping? No one's reaching out because I do get a lot of my opportunities inbound But today I got another brand deal opportunity with a wine company I have already worked with before and that is great when a company that you've worked with before wants to work with you again Because like you did great content and then it's also just more authentic that way And then I also got invited to the ariana grande concert with rem beauty. I am so excited I went to the ariana grande concert my senior year in high school and I was obsessed Back then with ariana grande and obviously her music is still so good But now I like got to study up on it because i'm not too familiar with the newest Album she put out but let me stop ranting and let's go check out the set active pop-up Yay, we're so excited Oh my gosh Here we go This top is for sure calling my name i've been really into colorful sets lately Wait, that's so cute Oops, but I wanted to show ryan what I got from set active I have so much blue in my wardrobe, but it was so pretty So I had to get it. You got the chooser color. Yeah How cute is that with yellow? yellow leggings and then I also got the maroon one Oh, yeah, I do have a maroon now that i'm thinking about it. Oops, but this one's like layered with blue And I think i'm gonna go to the set active carnival this weekend Seems fun. They have like austin merch there. So I really want some good morning. Happy friday We made it to the end of the week. Here's what we got going on I love these jeans, but I think they're getting slightly too big which is a good problem to have but uh That sucks because I had such good name brand jeans and i'm gonna have to start getting rid of a lot I've just been really putting it off because I don't want to get rid of them And even if I took it to like sell it at uptown cheapskate I know they would give me like two dollars for like citizen of humanity jeans And that just hurts a little bit. This tank top is the iconic tank air tank And I really do feel like it's a good staple to have in your closet I have seen one that looks very similar on tiktok shop I'm, very tempted to get it and try it out because I do want one in like a white color But these tank tops are like 70 70 dollars So i've just been putting it off But I think i'm gonna try the tiktok shop one and i'll let you guys know if they are similar I have my newest bag in my collection This is a freya bag went to a dinner with freya recently and they gifted us bags and I was just Freaking out because this has been on my want list for a while now I just never really pulled the plug mainly because I really do love a bag with a crossbody strap but I also just didn't think that it was big enough to like fit all the things I always bring to Everywhere, but I was mistaken because this holds a lot of ----, which is amazing i'm gonna go with my square toed teaks and I do have an amazon version in tan And they're honestly just as good and like 20 something dollars So i'll make sure to link the whole outfit and the dupes. I got you guys I'm, definitely gonna take my hair down. I'm just trying to like scrunch it a little bit because I Washed my hair this morning and I don't want to style it. Just yeah I'll probably just like style it later tonight, but I am headed out to another coffee date with a new friend And she is actually a photographer from new york city I think i've been following her for like years and I just realized that she moved here So I dm'd her I was like, hey, did you I didn't need to move to austin, texas. She was like, yes So I was like, let's meet up. So we're gonna go to coffee. We're gonna go to fleet on rainy It is like the newest fleet location and it looks so cute. So let's go I just pulled up to rainy street and it looks so lively again, even though obviously it's like Almost 10 a.m. And so there's not really people at the bars but like the bars just look like they're alive again recently I saw something on tiktok where it was like Rainy was never gone because people keep saying brainy's back. Rainy's back What do you mean? It wasn't gone like they took all of our favorite bars and there was so much construction for so long Yes, it was gone and brainy is starting to feel alive again, and i'm hoping it gets back to what it was I mean like obviously it's not gonna be You know the og rainy those are the most iconic days like bungalow. Oh my gosh. It was so fun There are still a couple of houses standing if you guys don't even know what rainy street is It's basically like this iconic street with all these older houses turned into bars. So like whenever people would come to Austin and they're like, where should we go? i'm, like well definitely you need a head of brainy because I feel like That's very iconic to austin and not every city has something like that but of course, you know, they just put up all these high rises and It's just getting more expensive in general Like obviously those bars were probably more dive bars where you would spend like ten dollars maybe eight dollars on a drink But now with all these like nicer bars, you definitely have to spend a lot more Um, my hair is kind of pissing me off I don't know i'm just touching it so much but trying to let it air dry today because I just don't really have the The effort to style it also because I did so many arm workouts this morning and it was a very very hard workout So i'm feeling a little low energy and got my period today. So I know curls are a little crazy, but ryan just told me that it's very humid out So we're not gonna brush them until we get outside Um, but i'm headed out to a friday happy hour with kiana we're gonna go check out this really cute Like wine bar kind of vibe. It's on south congress It's called wild ones and it's from the owners of butcher's daughter in la. It looks so adorable I've been dying to check it out and also fleet coffee on rainy day It's really cozy and like vibey inside and I definitely want to go back there even though the machoism like Amazing, but I think you like their coffee, right? I'm, just gonna bop around tonight. Ryan's eating dinner with some friends One of our high school friends is in town this weekend So we might meet up with them for dinner, but we'll see where the night takes us I'm gonna get a little tipsy maybe get a hugo spritz or something That sounds delicious, but i'm I think I have my mind set on the frozen Good evening. I got a waymo and I don't remember getting that option to choose the waymo. Um, but Main reason is because they take so much longer. I didn't realize they don't really have access to the main roads So this one time we were like already running late me and ryan to like a dinner And I didn't realize that and they took all back roads the whole time So it took literally double that amount of time. I was like perfect I'm, literally on south congress going to west right now and it's going to take 11 minutes. There's probably traffic I don't know in my head. That shouldn't take that long, but Could be normal, but it also could just be taking back roads So i'm like ---- ryan's already at dinner with some friends. I think I mentioned this they went to 1010 Which is like a really good sushi spot downtown. So he already ordered me a piece of seven and gear I'm gonna order a roll when I get there Any day that I get sushi is a good day Happy saturday We slept in so late this morning. We got up at like 10 Um, and then I needed to clean literally the whole house because our friend will is going to stay with us uh tonight he was staying at a hotel this weekend, but we needed to just you know, clean the place up because Ryan's always like oh, they don't care. My friends don't care like there can be like ---- stains in the toilet They wouldn't care. No ryan. They're gonna like literally think we're disgusting So I like made sure you know bathrooms are all clean.
