Please welcome now from Washington Figure Skating Club, Sarah Everhart.
While she wowed the audience with her Riverdance Short Program,
she is a jumping machine. 19-year-old Sarah Everhart, 2025 U.S. Bronze Medalist.
Skating to music from the Poor Things soundtrack. Sarah's getting started right away with her Lutz
combo. Brady, there's no wiggle room here. Triple Lutz, triple toe, nice reach back.
Bow here.
The second half into that choreographic step.
Triple loop, combination here, triple Lutz, double toe, double loop. Last jumping pass here,
triple salchow. And she does it, she goes clean. Brady Tunnell, her tech score 73.
Sarah finishing just slightly above that. It's going to be so close, Ben. That was remarkable,
the nerves of steel. She was getting on the ice right after that massive standing ovation for
Brady Tunnell, the huge score. And she knows, she's been around long enough, she knows that
that means she has to be perfect. And boy, not putting a foot wrong. So young, but so composed.
Steely under the pressure. You can really see the difference in
the performance quality between her and Brady.
Roman Skrnjakov, her coach, also coach of Ilya Malinin. So what I think is so important and
impressive with Sarah, the size of her jumps. They're absolutely massive. Sometimes she lacks
a little bit of that nice running edge out of it. Because of the height, there's a lot more
energy coming down. But look at the speed, this triple loop, double axel, flying through it.
I really enjoyed also, look at this lovely Ina Bauer, nice backbend right into a sliding step
there. What I want to see from Sarah as she works her way into the senior ranks. Right now,
the jumps, I'm not worried about the jumps. Those are secure, they look really comfortable. Look
at the size of this triple axel, double loop, she's got a ton of ice. What I want her to start
working on is the performance. Projecting outside of the boards and really getting a bit
more into the moment, the emoting of it. I actually had a conversation with her backstage
about this. She's not going to change her style right before she tries to go after an Olympic
spot. She lifts her head, she lifts her body, but her eyes are always looking down. She's so focused.
She's so focused and it gets the job done. Now, trust that your body knows how to do the jumps
and let's bring a little bit more presence into it. I'm saying this behind her back,
but I've also said it to her face. If she pulls the audience and the judges in,
she'll be unstoppable. Agreed. Well, here come the scores for Sarah Everhart.
The scores, please. An outstanding performance. The free skate score for Sarah Everhart,
138.37. A new season's best. Her total score, 209.47. She's currently in second place.
What a skate from Brady Tonell.
