Hello folks and welcome to the final part of our European road trip. You find me at the start of
this video in Bremen in Germany and I know what you're thinking, we didn't end the last video
in Bremen, we were still in Denmark. That's because we filmed the whole of today, realized
the video wasn't very long and have decided to condense the journey home into one big traveling
home video. I'm going to pass back to Past Kev from this morning in Billund, Denmark who's going
to think he's starting the video, he doesn't know that I've taken control and I've actually started
the video. Then once he's done, we'll be back here in Bremen again and that will be the official
halfway point and then we're going to continue on tomorrow morning to the Hook of Holland where
we're going to be jumping back on the ferry courtesy of our friends at Stenaline who once
again have provided us with the free ferry crossing like they did on the way here. We'll
take you through all of that process in reverse as well later on in this video but first let's
jump back to like 12 hours ago when we were still in Denmark and I'm very excited because I'm about
to go and do some LEGO shopping so have fun Past Kev, don't buy a Duplo set, whatever you do you
silly goose. Welcome back to the European road trip, as you can see this morning we are waking
up still at Lulandia but this is our last day here today. We're already midway through loading
up the car, we're all packed, we've had a bit of a clean and a tidy up, Anna's just stripping the beds
and we're going to be heading out of here. It's 9 30 in the morning, we have to be gone by 10.
We have to be at LEGO house by 10 as well so yeah, we're going to be out of here in the next 20
minutes or so. The actual activity at LEGO house, that'll be all over on Block Party so we'll be
catching up with you for this video a little bit later on today when we're leaving Denmark and
heading back to Germany. I just want to let you know we're all right, we're here,
we're getting out on time and we'll probably see you from the car park at LEGO house when
we're done there. Fingers crossed, traffic looks good, weather is going to be more of an issue than
traffic. Traffic looks like it's going to be just a four-hour run through to Bremen from here which
is weird because on the way here we drove past Bremen an hour before we got to Hamburg and the
drive from Hamburg. Actually no, it's not weird, my maths was so confused. It was three hours to
get here from Hamburg, it's four hours to get back to Bremen from here so that does make complete
sense. I was thinking we did a six-hour drive but no, that was Efteling to Hamburg wasn't it?
But I think Bremen is a better place to get back to where we're going. I'm getting myself confused,
either way we've got a four-hour drive later today so we don't want to be leaving Denmark too late
but yeah I need to get the car loaded up so we'll do that, go and have some LEGO fun, see you on the
other side of it, bye bye. Well it's just after one, we've just finished in the LEGO house, perfectly
timed for what is still showing on sat and have to be a four-hour drive to Bremen. Anna is making me
stop at the LEGO offices on the way so I can have a picture taken in front of the big minifigure
because I keep talking about it but I'm too afraid to do it and she's gonna escort me up there and
make me do it I think which is probably for the best because I do want to take that photo.
The space that we had at the start of the trip for putting LEGO in is now very full, my poor
old Fuggler is a little bit pressed for space in there now but at least he gets to enjoy the view
on the way back into Germany which is where we're heading now. So here you go, this is a bit of a
pilgrimage moment, the LEGO office is very exciting and that's the minifigure I want to
have my picture taken next to. We've abandoned the car outside someone's house back there,
I hope it doesn't get clamped. What did you say? Glad I insisted. Photo complete, very happy,
glad I insisted that we do that. I found what Anna's saying she's too far behind me for the
microphone to pick her up but we've actually left Billund because when we came past there was a
crowd of people out the front because they did one of the big inside tours yesterday at the LEGO
house and I think they were here today and they were having a massive group photo so we drove
past there was a crowd of people I was like oh no I'm not gonna go and get involved in that and
just carried on driving. We left town and then turned around and came back so yeah I'm glad I
insisted, good picture. Now we are driving to Germany, well we are back in Germany, goodness
me I am aching. I think the driving days are starting to accumulate now and I know that this
is going to be the first time we've got two big driving days back to back as well because we've
got all crumbs, dropped my biscuits because obviously we're just literally stopping halfway
when we get to Germany or when we get to Bremen we're just there for the night
and then doing the same long stretch again tomorrow to get back to the Hook of Holland
for the ferry. I'm looking for Anna's pillow and I don't know where she's put it. The car is quite
full now, I'll find her pillow but yeah we're still like two and a half hours from Bremen
that's why I say hello while I look for a pillow and my packet of digestive biscuits that I bought
in Harwich. Have you ever had a pack of digestive biscuits where you've had at least one biscuit
in four different countries and at sea in the space of a week? I have and they're in here
somewhere still like half left. Found them, road biscuits. We've stopped at a McDonald's about an
hour on this road trip. A couple of things you can get at German McDonald's that you can't get
at home I don't think. This guy on a key ring, on an adult meal. They also have World Cup cups
which there's six to collect. We're in Germany so is there any chance you can get Harry Kane maybe?
It's La Mina Mal. There you go. I have my own La Mina Mal cup. I'm old enough to be his granddad
and then this was described as a chicken and cheese box. So I have a chicken and cheese box,
a variety of sauces. Big Mac sauce, golden sauce, curry sauce. Anna's just got a boring old Big Mac
but yeah I mean to be fair mine's fairly boring as well but yeah that's fantastic. Yours is the
yeah because I ordered a small one so I could have a coffee. I just needed something cold to
have with it. Yeah my new cup and my new bag friend. Lovely stuff and curry flavour shaky
fries which is what Anna's got over there. Well we have arrived in Bremen. We're staying at Amoxy
again and if you've watched the whole series this room might look quite familiar because it's
basically identical to the one we stayed in in Hamburg just a few days ago to the point where
it still has the same tv, the same weird little chair situation. The only difference is it's the
other way around so this time Anna gets the chair on her side of the bed and we've got a little bit
more of a city centre view as you can see out of the window there over some more large buildings
but it's already half past seven in the evening and we're not going anywhere. We had that
McDonald's on the way and I think I'm just going to do a couple of hours of work and then watch
the England match which is on at 10 o'clock local time England versus Ghana assuming the tv works
because we got here and they said that the computer systems weren't working and if they
come back online the tv will come on in the middle of the night to welcome us and check us in
um but yeah it looks like we can watch the football so that's important we're going to be
able to watch football let's turn that off again um I think at this point I'm about to record a
new intro for this video where we talk about this being the entire journey home because I think we're
only about five minutes in and this is it for the day I don't want to release a five minute video
um so I guess we'll see you in the morning and this will take us all the way back to England
now because tomorrow morning drive back over to the hook of Holland again the remaining four hours
of the journey and jump back onto the ferry home courtesy of our friends at Stenaline so we will
see you in order I think it means I think I will check the traffic which I think we can have a
late-ish start tomorrow because if all goes to plan we've just got a four hour drive maybe five
tops and we don't have to be there until like half five so we could probably leave after lunch
tomorrow unless I find something really exciting to do here in Brevin but I think we're both pretty
tired we've never done a road trip like this before we've never done this many hotel changes
this quickly together and I think we're we're both pretty tired and are happy just to veg out
in the room for the next 16 hours or so before we have to drive the car some more so I'll see you
in the morning it is now the next morning as you can see we are just about fully packed I'm not
sure how that's happened but sometimes that happens um but we're fully packed we've both set
up see we're we've learned from the first I say we Anna has learned from the first journey over
we both have an overnight bag packed just to take on the ship tonight so everything else can stay in
the car we just need to go and load the car up according to google maps we've got like a four
four and a half hour drive to get us back over to the hook of Holland it's just before 11 o'clock
the ship sails at 10 o'clock tonight we need to be there about six so I think that allows for a
fairly leisurely drive we've got to get some petrol while we're still in Germany because
apparently German petrol is cheaper than both Danish and Dutch petrol so we'll get some more
petrol while we're still here in Germany so we'll hopefully get back over there about five o'clock
so we can have a nice leisurely check-in onto the ship and it's an earlier sailing we sail at 10
tonight we get off at the other side at 6 30 tomorrow morning which means we might actually
be home by like early morning 10 o'clock ish before it gets super duper hot because apparently
is it 38 in England tomorrow tomorrow where we live 35 degrees we'd like to be home and not
traveling before then so we can get locked in our air-conditioned rooms at home but
I'm gonna load up the car and then we are gonna go and hit the road he's so happy about it he
loves road trips this guy he's had a whale of a time well I think that was the single longest
stretch of driving that I've done on the entire trip nearly three hours in one stretch not
deliberately there was an accident just after we got back into the Netherlands and we must have sat
in traffic for over an hour so yeah we've got to the other side of that we're still probably about
two hours from where we're heading it's half past two so we're making we are making good time we
left in plenty of time but we just pulled over to grab something to eat at whatever we can find
at the services because we're pretty we're pretty snackish it's also 35 degrees when we opened the
door from the lovely air-conditioned car the heat just smacks you in the face it is hot and apparently
it's even hotter at home which is absolutely bananas I think we need to head back to Denmark
where we were walking around Denmark yesterday it was like 22 degrees
I've missed Denmark already we might have to move to Billund we've come over to McDonald's
but most importantly they do fritz sauce here which they didn't do in Germany and but we love
this when we have it in France and also on the machine there was the option to buy a bottle of
it so we have a bottle to take home with us which is possibly the best thing we've bought in the
entire trip well it's just before 5 p.m we're about 45 minutes away we just stopped to see if
we could find some of my delicious Dutch peppermints that I like they did not have any at
this petrol station um it is 37 degrees now it's quite warm and it's so bright that I can't even
see that I'm filming myself the camera could be pointing the other way the screen is just
it's complete reflection it's bonkers it's this is way hotter than any day we experienced
in Florida this is one of possibly the hottest I've ever felt just walking around anywhere ever
it's insane we're jumping back in the car because it's air-conditioned in there well we've made it
we've time to spare it's 10 to 6 the sign up there is telling us that check-in opens at half
past six the ship is over there so it's already here it's very very hot it is um it's not quite
as hot as it was at service station but rather than sitting in the bakingly hot car over there
we've decided to come and sit on this bench in the shade and wait for the uh for the check-in to
because otherwise I think we might just melt but yeah we made it it took much longer than
anticipated in my head when I was planning the trip I had visions of us on the way back
stopping at the Hague and going to the um the Lego Discovery Center that's over there maybe
checking out the new Rotterdam Lego store did not anticipate all of the traffic I think I don't think
the heat has helped there have been a couple of accidents on the way as well but yeah we left
we left Bremen at 11 o'clock this morning and Anna's saying we actually left at half ten so
we left at half ten we stopped for some petrol and but effectively yeah we were driving away
from the car park in Bremen at half past ten for what was supposed to be no more than like a four
hour drive and it's nearly six o'clock that we've actually pulled in here yeah we stopped for lunch
but that was for 20 minutes maybe and we've had a couple of like five or ten minute toilet stops but
there's no way we should have been arriving this late there should have been opportunity for us to
do some other stuff along the way but um very much glad we didn't because then we would have missed
the ship and I would have been very sad or I'd have been just as sad if we'd have got here at
like nine o'clock which I think you can still do I think boarding ends an hour before I think
oh I haven't read the email properly um but yeah you know me boys and girls if if something happens
at half past six I want to be here at four o'clock to make sure I don't miss it so I'm
very happy that my car's at the front of the queue I just hope it is the queue I don't want to put it
in the wrong place which of course is what I'm currently stressing about well despite being at
the front of the queue unfortunately I'm not going to be driving the ship because two people got
through check-in and passport control ahead of me which I'm very upset about but I think boarding
starts at eight and it's about quarter to seven so we're going to be uh probably looking around
for some shade for a little while um or just sitting in the car with the air conditioning on
but we are uh we are through all of the uh all of the official stuff we had to do the fingerprint
check thing at passport control um which I don't think I've ever had to do leaving a country before
but I guess that's part of the new rules um and yeah now we're just waiting to get on the ship
they did confirm that the um all the minibar stuff that we weren't sure was ours the first time
is all ours so um we'll be filling our bag with minibar remnants bringing bringing the kids back
half bottles of wine with us that we're not going to drink and cans of Heineken and we are on it is
just before eight o'clock uh five two to be specific we now know that all this stuff is ours
so we are going to be filling up a bag in the morning to take stuff like this back for the
kids because neither of us drink but you know it's all included we may as well bring it but yeah we
are uh I think it's basically the exact same setup as it was on the way out I think this is
the other ship because it feels slightly different the boarding procedure is slightly different the
lifts are slightly different so I think they've got the Holandica and the Britannica or something
like that I think we're on the other one I will double check once I can dig all the documents
and stuff out um but yeah we're on with two hours or a little over two hours to spare before we sail
once again we do have a view out of the window thankfully despite it being a gazillion degrees
outside it's actually not too bad in here I'm just trying to work out how the quick call works
I assume it's already on because the lights on there are flashing I can feel cool air coming out
of somewhere probably out of here yeah there's definitely cool air coming out of there so
getting cooler in here as well yeah we're just gonna get ourselves settled in and then probably
go and grab some dinner because we've left all of our snack items in the car although we have
got a few here but I need something a little more substantial I mean I'm a hungry boy well we are on
and I can confirm this is a different ship to the one we got on the way here it was the Holandica
we got on the way out this is the Britannica however that's not stopping Anna from going to
guest services and asking if they've got the 90 that she left on the ship on the way out
it's the Minions 90 that she bought at Universal America she realized almost immediately when we
got to Efteling that she'd left it on the ship she's emailed Stenaline she's emailed the Stenaline
cleaning company we're trying to track down this 90 it is gone and she's now in what has to be a
very very long shot asking if 10 days ago on a different ship someone left a Minions 90 that
they happened to have brought on this one for her if she comes away with this 90 it's sensational
it's nearly half past eight we're settled in we've unpacked to the point that we're
going to unpack as in I've hung up tomorrow's t-shirt I've put my toothbrush on the sink
and I've plugged in my CPAP machine and I think we are going to go and grab some dinner because
all we've had today is a little bit of hotel breakfast there wasn't much left when we got
down there I had a couple of pancakes with honey when the 17th they're actually looking into it
which is bizarre yeah all we've had is a couple of pancakes and then that McDonald's halfway here
I love the fact they're actually looking it up though imagine if they've got it
that would be amazing no joy they did look though to be fair perhaps to give them credit for looking
I don't think I would have bothered if I'd have been sat there and guess I've been like
different ship a week ago no I know I know even though it is a different ship it does look like
it's exactly the same layout as the one that we were on before to the point where I think it's
even the same chairs is there a tv showing the world cup I mean there won't be because there's
no world cup match on but in half an hour that'll be showing the world cup and they do have the
they do have the food here so this is what we've got on the menu so the food is not too shabby
that's a portion of fish and chips with peas tartar sauce nice big portion and it's got a
cheeseburger and it is a double cheeseburger that is a that is a lot of food considering
we had a mcdonald's on the way here and this is just you had a happy meal it's all right
let's get stuck in that was a very pleasant meal can confirm it was massive portions neither of
us managed to finish it maybe we were a little too close to that mcdonald's after all and but
we are now heading back to the room and we from what we've seen of the ship it is exactly the
same layout as the other one um so we're not going to tour it again if you want to see a tour of the
um you can go and watch the video at the start of the playlist i'll link to it down below
um so you can go and uh see a full tour of the ship on there but i think we're just gonna head
back to the room it's not even nine o'clock we don't sail for an hour but i think we have an
early night we've done a lot of travel over the last couple of days and we are pooped so i'm gonna
lie there with timmy and read my book for a bit and then when we do sail away i'll sit there with
my fuggler and we'll have a look at what's going on out there and we might even if we're still
awake at midnight which is very unlikely we can watch scotland versus brazil on this but i think
we'll just see you in the morning unless anything really exciting happens well not even 10 seconds
after i put the camera down um anna looked out the window and noticed there was a fire on the
other side of the water i don't know if it's supposed to be there or if it's a disaster
happening yeah but that was unexpected when we looked out of the window it seems very controlled
yeah nobody seems to be panicking so i think it's probably supposed to be happening and as if by
magic it's now just after 6 00 a.m the next day and as you can see we are back in the uk in fact
there is the uk border we'll be getting off the ship in about 20 minutes i think um
bit of about half an hour not going for breakfast this time because i figured
don't necessarily need breakfast before 6 30 a.m i certainly wouldn't normally eat this early
so i think probably a mcdonald's on the way home is in in order but i'll check in with you once
we've got to the other side of the border because when we were on the other end going into the
netherlands it was like an hour's wait before we were actually through that and in the country so
i'll let you know what time we get off and what time we're actually free to go and do our business
and we are back in the same morrison's car park we started the series what nine ten days ago
that is so much smoother on this side than it is on the dutch side um it took us well over an hour
to get through passport control getting into the netherlands this one i think we actually started
the engine to get off the ship at like 6 55 and by 701 here we are in the morrisons car park there's
a mcdonald's just the other side of this bush as well so i think i've got a mcmuffin in my future
but that is the end of our european road trip series we're actually looking at our watches
thinking is the dog kennel is even going to be open by the time we get there if we got to get
home first before picking up dave and but yeah it is pretty civilized being being back in the
uk that early in the morning i do really enjoy the whole just being able to sleep and cutting
off all that driving we were looking last night because you know me i panic so i'm the last services
when we were stuck in traffic i was like okay if we miss the ferry what is the option we have to
drive down to calais get a euro tunnel and then drive up from there and that would have added like
eight to ten hours of driving to the trip to get us home and yeah i don't want any part of that so
i think from now on when certainly when we're heading into northern europe if we're heading
up into germany denmark anywhere in that kind of area the ferry seems like the most civilized way
to do it so thank you again to staneline for sponsoring the uh the couple of ferry crossings
providing us with the ferries for free um it is very much appreciated um and even though it was
free it was still good so that's uh that's a big positive there but yeah we are gonna jump back in
the car grab a mcdonald's and head home because apparently it's going to be mega mega hot here
today and we think we've experienced some heat over the last week or so driving around europe
it's 7 a.m and it's already 25 degrees where i'm standing right now apparently it's going to get
as high as 38 at home for us today so we want to get home and get the air conditioning on before
it gets too hot so if you have enjoyed this european road trip it's like no series we've
ever done before we've never done a road trip before it's been fun so if you've enjoyed it
please leave a thumbs up on there for us if it does well we might do another one who knows i'm
already planning one going into south germany for next year so we can check out another lego land
and a few other few other theme parks europa park people have mentioned and i think there's another
one that we could probably squeeze into that result park asterix would be an obvious one to do
so there's a potential next year's road trip already being planned and that if you have enjoyed
the series please leave a thumbs up on there for subscribe to the channel for loads more travel
content we've still got two decent trips set up for the rest of the summer so there's plenty
more travel content to come and thank you very much for watching
