AI GeneratedA traveler journeys through Northwest Montana with their dog, Zeta, exploring scenic roads and searching for campsites. The trip involves navigating challenging weather, encountering a massive \"hill,\" and dealing with sketchy shelf roads, eventually culminating in a reunion with a friend named Kevin.
I can't believe I got that on film.
Sure is a beautiful road.
I'm not sure how far I'm going to have to back up,
but so sketchy.
Time to do some sketchy.
Well, ladies and gentlemen,
I decided to just hit the road
and I only had one destination in mind.
I really wanted to show you something
absolutely magnificent, so check it out.
Where'd you go?
There you are.
All right, folks.
Now, just behind me,
actually in front of me, technically,
is what I believe the world's largest hill.
Look at it.
Do you see that thing?
That's a big hill.
Now, you might be asking yourself,
isn't it just a small mountain?
No, no, it's not.
If you actually look on the GPS
that I'm about to show you right here,
that there is a hill
and it is the most impressive hill
I think I've ever seen in my entire life.
I'm gonna go run up it really quick.
Okay, I'm not gonna run up it.
Now, I'm actually making my way north right now again,
basically on the same route as I took my parents
because I just got bored
and I decided to come up,
back up to Northwest Montana here.
That's why I'm up here
and also it's absolutely beautiful
and I don't wanna miss it for the world.
So anyway, I'll let the dog out really quick
to let her go to the bathroom
and then we'll be back on the road.
Now, the parabolic lens on this thing
or whatever you wanna call it
from only a couple hundred yards away
doesn't really give you an idea
of just how massive this hill is.
It's so, I don't know,
it's just such an interesting thing to see
where the road just goes right up to such a large hill.
Cool stuff.
All right, it might not be the world's largest hill
technically but I'd like to consider it
as the world's largest.
I'll put it in the hat.
Does anybody know any other hills
that are technically labeled a hill
and they're over a thousand vertical tall?
Let me know.
Anybody else get the anxiety
whenever they're driving behind a logging truck
because of that one 90s movie?
Just gotta keep a close eye out is all.
Real close eye out.
All righty, folks.
Looks like we're, oh God, oh!
Looks like we're on our way.
The road has gotten rough so that's a good sign.
I was looking at my GPS about an hour ago
and saw a lake that's up in the woods
kind of close to where I was camping last night.
So, and also it's in the general direction
of where I gotta go.
Fingers crossed it is,
well, hopefully it's not packed
because technically it is a free campsite
that has pit toilets, which is super convenient.
But because there's pit toilets,
that means that there's a better chance
or there's a higher probability
that this spot will be occupied.
I guess we'll find out here soon.
Look at the flowers.
Zeta, do you see the flowers?
Do you see them?
Do you see the flowers, Zeta poops?
Don't they smell?
Oh, it smells so good out here.
Mm, uh-oh, it's getting real now.
We've got ourselves some hailstones.
Where is that large snow?
I'm not really sure.
I don't know.
A lot of these forest service roads here in Montana,
the mud up here is just as greasy as it can possibly get.
I'm talking greasy, greasy.
Kind of stinks, you know,
I've pretty much been just stuck inside of my camper
for I think it's been pretty much three or four days now.
What are you doing there?
Dang thing.
But that being said, I think I've mentioned it before,
the weather is supposed to get really, really nice.
Not tomorrow, but the next day.
It's supposed to be just absolutely beautiful.
Highs in the mid 70s.
So I think I can handle another couple days
of spring weather.
Well, as expected, it's pretty dang busy down here.
Now there's only six spots available in this campground
and there's two left.
This one's kind of like right near the entrance,
but it gives me the most amount of distance
between my next door neighbor, which is right over there.
The other option would be a family
with a bunch of dogs way over there.
They seem like nice dogs,
but I'd rather not cause any trouble.
So let's take a look.
Oh my lanta, beautiful.
Oh, somebody left some firewood,
but everything is looking quite soaked right now.
So I don't think there's gonna be a fire tonight.
Sorry, folks.
It's pretty awesome.
I can't believe I got that on film.
Well, good morning.
It was a pretty dang nice night here last night.
It seems like everybody was quite respectful
of the usage of their generators
and shut off the generators
around probably 10 o'clock last night
and didn't start them up again
until around seven o'clock this morning.
So I'm glad that people are conscientious
of the fact that those things make a lot of noise,
at least the ones that they're using.
I don't really know what I have planned for today.
I know that I'm gonna be making my way up to Whitefish
and I have a couple of friends up there
that I wanted to see, but then after that,
I think we'll make our way north
and I don't know, stay up there somewhere.
There's so much stuff that I wanted to do
when we pass through there, my parents and me.
So I think this go around.
I'm gonna slow down a little bit
and see if we can't find some amazing stuff
while we're up there.
So let's hit it.
Well, good morning.
It's another beautiful albeit wet day here in Montana.
And yeah, we're making our way north.
I better turn that off.
Otherwise I'll get copyright infraction.
Coming up here on the right in the tiny town of Echo Lake.
I'm not sure if it's gonna be open or not, but if it is,
I am definitely gonna pull in
because this place called Echo Lake Cafe, it is so good.
And it looks like it's open.
So I am definitely gonna grab a bite to eat
because I haven't eaten anything today.
I is hungry.
I probably shouldn't be eating here
because I'm on a very, very tight budget,
but sometimes you just gotta indulge a little bit, you know?
Yes, Zeta, you're not going anywhere.
Sorry, girl, you gotta stay in here.
Mm-hmm.
Sorry.
Let's get some delicious breakfast.
Well, that was delicious.
I feel reinvigorated.
Anyway, let's get back on the road.
This song is actually one of my favorite songs ever.
See if you can figure out who it is.
Row, row, row, row, row, row, row, row, row, row, row, row.
How can you think
that I'm actually calling you right now, turkey?
Row, row, row, row.
She's like, what the hell is going on over here?
That don't look like no turkey.
I have officially confused the turkey.
She is just looking at me like, what, what is going on?
Who is that?
That sure don't look like no normal turkey.
What do you think, girl?
Well, there might have been a bit of things
that I've transpired since I last turned on my camera here.
I was just trying to find a good camp spot for the night.
I am driving down a particularly sketchy shelf road,
and I was told this was open,
but it is very much not open.
Now I get to back up a shelf road
that was already sketchy coming down, going forwards.
Now I get to go backwards, back up the shelf road.
So this should be fun.
It's pretty though.
Just don't go down there.
That's the only thing that I have to do
is just don't go down there.
Piece of cake, right?
I'm not sure how far I'm going to have to back up,
but it's a long ways.
I think probably a mile, maybe even a mile and a half
I have to go backwards up the shelf road.
This'll be fun.
So sketchy, time to do some sketchy.
Doodah, doodah, hope I get away with it.
Oh, the doodah day.
Oh my gosh.
All right.
I better pay attention to the road for a little bit here
and focus on the road.
So I'll check back with you in a little bit.
Well, that was fun.
Yeah.
I had a guy in a Ram
come down from above.
So I was going to film going back up,
but then that happened.
So I had to stop and then I told him
that I wouldn't advise driving through that
with your Ram Cummins,
because yeah, it's actually deeper than I thought it was.
The way that I know that is,
there were some side-by-side guys that were going up.
So right when I decided to start filming again,
those guys came up.
So I had to stop filming and get on the road.
Hey, look, snow.
Oh, look, frost.
I should have taken a hint by this right here.
But yeah, they told me that there was like
five feet of snow down there.
So I'm glad I didn't even bother trying
because I would have,
I'm sure I would have just sunk right to the bottom
and then that would be my new home
for the foreseeable future.
So anyway, I guess we're going to head back this way
and set up camp here in a bit.
Sure is a beautiful road, isn't it?
Just a little hairy, but it's not too bad.
B-E-A-utiful, folks.
Beautiful.
Very, very beautiful.
Zeta thinks so, too.
Don't you, Zeta poops?
Well, I guess we're going to have to call
this place home tonight.
It's not a bad site, but I am right next to the road.
But also, fortunately,
there's not a whole lot of traffic today, surprisingly.
Come on out.
Brrr.
Bzz, bzz, bzz, bzz, bzz.
Zeta poops.
Hey.
Boop.
Oh, you booped yourself.
Oh, my stars.
Holy malanta.
You know what I think we need to do right now?
I think we need to do a windage check.
Just need to break out my windometer.
All right, that,
so that's pretty,
anyway,
pretty windy.
We got runaway parents right now.
They're at 19.9 thousand subscribers.
They are one subscriber away from hitting 20,000.
And I got Mike, who's texting me,
because I know he's watching every second of it,
waiting for that 20,000 mark.
The second he texts me,
that he hit 20,000,
I'm going to unsubscribe.
Sorry, Mike and Dwight.
I'll re-subscribe right away.
I promise.
Oh, look at that stick.
Good girl.
Oh, yeah.
Get that stick.
Good girl.
Yeah.
Get that stick.
Woof.
Yeah.
Woof, woof.
Woof, woof, woof, woof.
All right, so Zeta's chair is too small for her.
Come on up.
Come on.
It looks very uncomfortable.
All she can do is sit in it.
poor girl.
It's so small.
I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry, Zeta-boops.
But, I have figured out
how to make it work.
So, it's leaning against my chair,
and she seems to enjoy it a lot more.
Look at you, little Zeta-boops.
Zeta-boops.
Hello.
Oh, hello.
That's a good chair, isn't it?
Is that a good chair?
Yeah.
You like it, don't you?
Man, I'll tell you what.
There has been some serious windstorms
that have come through here.
Look at this.
It's like a golden tornado came through here or something.
Really got to ride this edge, too.
Oh, because of that.
Yes, Zeta.
Man.
Yeah, up there.
Holy cow.
Well, I got to say,
it's been a bit of a struggle for the last few days
trying to find a good campsite,
but I think,
I think I finally found one.
Take a look at this.
Zeta-boops, are you a happy doggo?
It's a good thing you're a swimming dog.
Yeah, otherwise I might be concerned.
Don't do it.
Don't do it, girl.
What are you going to do now?
You're kind of stuck.
Oh, she figured it out.
All right.
Man, it smells so good here right now.
Oh my gosh.
It is absolutely beautiful.
We've even got ourselves a nice fire pit
with some stocked wood.
Yeah, firewood.
Look at this campsite.
And of course, larch trees.
Sure wish I had some company out here.
It's awfully quiet and,
oh, okay, there's my Zetas.
I got to stop doing this to myself.
Every time I hear a Dan Cummins,
I always think it's Kevin Wald.
Hold up.
No, that's probably some other guy
with a third gen regular cab Cummins
with an old 10-2000.
There's no way that's Kevin Wald.
Where's the river?
Hi.
Oh, I missed you, buddy.
I missed you, too.
Oh my Atlanta.
Look at this.
Whoa.
It goes all the way to the other side.
Wow.
Well, folks,
I'm not really sure how this video went,
but I think it's time to call it on this video
because now that Kevin's gotten here
and we've had a day of BSing and catching back up
since it's been many months since we've last hung out,
I think we're actually gonna take off from this campsite.
And I have tasked myself
with trying to find my Canadian friend
a spot that I know of relatively close to this area
that can hopefully get close to
or possibly even match some of the beautiful spots
that he recommended to me while I was up in BC
on my previous videos.
So I guess that's it for this, this one.
So thanks for stopping by
and we'll see you on the next one.
