Now to some breaking news from the UK and King Charles has been reunited with his grandchildren
Archie and Lilibet for the first time in four years during Prince Harry's trip back to his
homeland. Europe correspondent Hannah Sinclair has the details. The King has finally seen his
grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in a long-awaited reunion at Highgrove House. The
first full family visit in four years. The catch-up, a private meeting with no pictures
released. The Duke of Sussex earlier marking one year until Invictus Games with an event in
Birmingham. Harry trying his hand at pickleball, wheelchair rugby and laser run with an Australian
teammate. The Duke also having a laugh with a British TV host. Your kids and Meghan must be so
proud of you. Do they tell you every day? They don't tell me every day that they're proud of me
but yeah I'm proud of them, they're proud of me. I love my family. Meghan was supposed to be joining
him for the event but pulled out at the 11th hour after deciding not to make any public appearances.
Princess Kate on the other hand showing up to cheer on Prince William competing in a charity
polo match. This is nice, he's looking for Prince William. He's going to try and hold it now.
Meanwhile British police investigating disgraced former Prince Andrew are now reportedly planning
to travel to the US to interview Virginia Dufresne's family about her sexual assault
allegations. This Prince Harry, Meghan and their two kids have met with King Charles and the Queen.
The long-awaited royal reunion is the first time in four years that the king has seen his grandkids.
For more we're joined by The Telegraph's associate editor Camilla Tomady-Light from Hertfordshire in
the UK. Camilla, momentous occasion yes? Yeah it's momentous isn't it? As you say there it's been
four years the family were last over at the Platinum Jubilee in 2022. They've had a private
meeting with the King and Queen at Highgrove which is the King's Gloucestershire residence so
a couple of hours drive from London. Don't quite know what went on, how long it went on and indeed
Buckingham Palace have said there won't be any imagery from the meeting but it's a positive end
to what's been a quite difficult week for Harry and Meghan. Yeah the last time King Charles saw
Archie and Lilibet they were only three and one and it occurs to me that now they're old enough
to remember meeting grandpa so that's quite emotional for him and for everyone I guess.
Yeah exactly and everyone knows how quickly children change in a matter of months not just
years so to now see them what age seven and nearly five of course they'll look like completely
different children to the ones that he last saw. There has been contact between father and son we
understand there's been video calls and such like so one would imagine that the King has been able
to see the children remotely but yes to see them in the flesh is certainly going to be something
special for both sides. Private reunion as you mentioned do you think they're going to get out
and about in public or is that a bit much too soon? Well we've obviously had this whole row
about Harry's security and indeed the security that's going to be afforded or not to Meghan and
the children if they come over. Meghan was due to appear in Birmingham at this year out till the
Invictus Games event but pulled out of that because of the ongoing row over whether or not they can
have taxpayer funded bodyguards. Clearly the decision has been made for them to not do very
many public facing roles together but to enjoy this private time. However now that they are in the UK
then one does wonder well what changed in the security situation to allow Harry to be comfortable
with the idea of his wife and two children coming here. Is it because it's not a bells and whistles
kind of public visit but it's a very private one because we know the family's been in Europe anyway
I mean many people have been saying look what makes them less safe in London for instance
than in Montecito or anywhere else on this continent. So that's a tricky one and of

simply hadn't come up with evidence and that feelings weren't fact. You may remember Dan that
back in the day when Harry actually appeared in the doc to give his evidence he got quite tearful
when he talked about Meghan and the idea that the male group had harassed her and made her life a
misery but it's a resounding victory for Associated Newspapers and indeed for the press in the UK
because had the judgment gone the other way we could have seen a reintroduction of a quest for
state regulation of our media and that's something well at least journalists like me and the people
that I work with very much want to resist. Yes me as well. Camilla I find it very hard to keep up
with the royals it's like the peace treaty in Iran it's on it's off times are good times are terrible
are we trending in the right direction is there reconciliation going on is Harry going to catch
up with William where are we headed? Well you say that Dan I think there's father and son
reconciliation isn't there clearly today at Highgrove. I don't think the Prince of Wales
had much to do with this at all and he's been notable by his absence from any of the shenanigans
that have gone on in recent days with regard to whether or not Harry can stay at Buckingham Palace
the aftermath of the court case and all the rest of it. My understanding is that William and Kate
are keeping their distance they don't want to be sucked into the Sussex psychodrama
and they are preferring that age-old royal mantra keep calm and carry on. That's it don't explain
just push forward I tell you what as far as scandals with Harry going Harry not staying at
Buckingham Palace is slightly better than where we've come from a decade ago there's no new
billiards going on so things may be trending in the right direction thanks Camilla. Well I think so
and also to go and see the king at Highgrove I mean that's arguably the king's favourite property
of all so it was probably designed to make them feel happy make them feel comfortable don't forget
that after the divorce Prince Harry spent a great deal of time in Gloucestershire he'll be very
familiar with the territory and I think that's how the royals have tried to reach out. Thanks for your time.
