How are you?
I'm good.
How are you?
Doing good.
So tell us a little bit about who you are and how you figured out, like, you know what?
I think I'm going to be an author one day.
So I've wanted to write for years, and I finally sat down and decided I was going to publish
a piece of work.
My first piece of work, Killing Cam, came back out in September of last year, and now
we are approaching the release of my second book in the series, Breaking Brielle, that
comes out July 28th.
And so two books into this series.
Now, do you think there's going to be maybe a third book in this series, or do you think
you're going to kind of go into something else?
So it is planned to be a trilogy.
So there is going to be another book next year to look forward to.
And so tell us a little bit about this series, because I know it's the Letters of Confession
series, and it's romance involved.
So tell us about both books.
So it is romance.
There's a bit of thriller into it.
The first book, Killing Cam, is about a girl who reconnects with a past love two years
after high school graduation, and she can't get over him.
So she will do anything to be with him, even if it means killing someone in the process,
because she will fight for her love.
Talk about a plot twist.
That's another level of insanity obsession type of thing.
And so with these two, what's kind of a sneak peek of what's going to be in book three?
So book three, being it doesn't come out until next year, I will tell you, my early readers,
they were left on a cliffhanger at the end of two, and it definitely, for me as the author
writing the end of it, I was like, oh, okay, that's how it ended?
I didn't even see the ending of two coming.
But in two in general, there's so many twists and turns.
We get to see these characters grow up, and that's more what's going to happen in three
when it comes out next year, is those characters still have a chance to grow up and evolve
and figure out their life.
The girl's going to get the guy, no matter what she's going to be doing to get with him.
I feel like that's always the question.
Even though you're a little cuckoo for this person, are you still going to end up with him?
Nine times out of ten, no.
But it'll be interesting to kind of see how this plays out.
So aside from writing, what other hobbies do you have that kind of help with the writing process?
So I'm actually a criminal law student, so this has a lot of that thriller aspect into it.
So I feel like even my studies in that, I feel like, oh, that seems like that character a lot.
So it's like, okay, it can help me write those characters it seems like.
I think that's great, because I'm a thriller and horror girly, and I feel like I had one other author
that I love, Octavia Grant, and she did a lot of criminal justice with her degree.
So I was like, well, that's why your books are so unhinged, because you see examples in class,
and you're kind of able to take that real-world experience and create something pretty cool.
So Gabrielle, before I let you go, is there anything else that you would like to say to future fans out there
or just fellow book lovers?
Well, I'd like to let everyone know that for my second book, Breaking Brielle,
we are going on a little book tour for that.
We are starting in Howell, Michigan.
It's kind of in the middle of Michigan.
We're doing a release party there on July 28th from 4 to 6, and then on the 7th and the 8th,
we're doing Shining Sun.
We'll be in Ann Arbor and then Ohio, and then back, looping into September,
we're going to be in Holland and Michigan.
So if you want to stop and see me, there's a chance.
It's all posted over my social media.
