Philly Love Story: Newlyweds spend honeymoon at MLB All-Star Game

Let's switch live now to Action News. This is John Paul, who spent the day with fans. John, what's the energy like down there? Like, if last night was any indication, it's going to be off the charts tonight. Exactly. We're expecting the exact same thing. We're starting to see a lot more fans here showing up just outside the gates. They're not open just yet, but, you know, we're seeing all sorts of different jerseys. And, of course, tonight is really all about the fans, and it's hard to find, like, the pinnacle of fandom, but I think I came close. With just hours to go until first pitch tonight, last-minute preparations are underway inside of Citizens Bank Park as excitement builds outside where we met newlyweds Nicole and Wes Schaeffer hoping to score some autographs. This is our honeymoon. This is how we're kicking off our honeymoon. This is All-Star Week. They have a Philly love story that would even make the fanatic blush. They met at Citizens Bank Park. He proposed four years later in the same spot on the day of the Eagles Super Bowl parade, and they just got married on July 3rd. Now they're spending their honeymoon at the All-Star Game. We booked our wedding. We were like, oh, stop it. It lines up perfectly. So we're like, where else did you want to celebrate but Citizens Bank Park? Where you met, you got engaged, and now it's the All-Star Game? It's literally like the Emmys of baseball. Come on. You can't not be here. So is this what you wore when you walked down the aisle? Similar, but not quite. I had a suit. I got a maroon suit. I wanted to do it Philly-themed, so it's the same as the vintage throwbacks. They'll be among the thousands of lucky fans cheering on the National League tonight, especially the three Phillies in the starting lineup. So clearly we're big sports fans, big Philly sports fans here. Yeah, that is very clear when you look at those wedding pictures. Thank you for sharing those with me. By the way, hey, Brian, Sarah, it was 104 degrees, I think they said, on their wedding day, so not quite as hot, but I think they've brought the heat once again.
