Hey, it's lunch time. I don't know if you guys remember a long long time ago
I did a video on Kyoto, Japan where it was basically a flaming
literal flaming bowl of ramen. Well, they have a location here in Singapore. So that's gonna be lunch and
maybe the last time I
see my eyebrows. So all the ingredients are shipped from Japan. Premium matcha, the shoyu, the yuzu
And I remember when I was in Japan, they have little
Docks in the kitchen to put your phone up. So they film the video of you
Staring into a ball of flames. So what I remember from this experience is they seat you at the bar
They give you your bowl of ramen. Flash fire with oil and basically hellfire and all that happens right in front of your face
So i'm gonna get the 226 year shoyu fire ramen which costs 17 18 Singapore dollars
So about 14 US. Not bad. And for you beer lovers, they have an authentic Kyoto matcha beer
Okay, so
Sitting in front and they give you instructions. Don't please stay seated. Don't run away. Sit, keep your hands behind your back
Pass your phone to them
They do give you the broth so you can taste it before and after
the fire
It's actually really good
That gentleman right there is heating up the oil. If I remember correctly from my experience of last time
Really can't move
It's still there, right
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Oh, that was hot
But as the oil is going on the scallions the scallion is being fried
This ramen is definitely one of the most aromatic. I mean the aroma from this bowl of ramen is intoxicating
So there is garlic and scallion in this and it's the same concept as cooking hot
You flash fry the scallions and garlic and chilies it just creates such an amazing amazing aroma
And your entire bowl is gonna be filled with that
They're serving thin straight noodle
That's so good
I mean people do argue over the taste of this place. I really like this
I mean
The biggest difference between the broth from before the fire and now when you taste the fire you taste the smoke you taste the char
Noodle very al dente very chewy. I won't have to say the chashu looks a little dry
That's definitely the worst part of this bowl a little tough. Very chewy best part of this broth in the ramen for sure
I've always gotten the shoyu. I think that's definitely the best bowl here. Also, I got the charcoal
karaage, I mean
This definitely looks like someone went a little hard on the flames
I think this is awesome. The chicken inside that very black outer breading is so so tender
It's charcoal. So it's not actually burnt. So you don't get any of the burnt flavor here
This thing is just pure deliciousness
Chicken fried perfectly outside shell light and crunchy. I mean it looks so intriguing
It looks like it's gonna be bitter overly cooked and none of that. It's perfect and the dipping sauce
I think has a little wasabi in here as well
Which balances out the richness of the chicken a lot of people not displays. It's kind of a novelty
It is it is i'm sure the added flame show
It's a big draw for this place a big reason why people come here, but I actually do think the ramen is delicious
I remember in japan
The shop gives you even more scallions than this which makes it taste even better. I think it's a delicious bowl of ramen
I think it's a delicious plate of karaage
And end the meal use your ice cream
This is really really good
Very icy though to use some of that fire on this ice cream and all this all the ingredients everything shipped from japan
I think this has been an awesome ramen meal
First stop is an international plaza this restaurant called inishi when they say this place a hidden gem
It's hidden
I felt like I walked through a first person shooter maze to find this place first impression is pretty authentic ramen bar
You're sitting here. The chef's cooking right in front of you
They have some homemade chili oil and some homemade peppercorn sauce
I think that's definitely mainly for the dandan noodles to make it more spicy. Oh, there's more sauces
Look at this. There's three different kinds of vinegar chili vinegar. I think citrusy orange vinegar kelp vinegar
There's also some shichimi. So for the dandan noodle, they gave us a soft boiled egg some broth
I can see them searing the duck and the chashu. So there's duck and chashu in the dashi broth
Thank you, thank you
Thank you
Oh, wow, this looks very spiced up. So this is dashi ramen
You could also add hot oil to it, which I did inside giant pieces of chashu and pieces of duck
Look at this. I've never seen this in ramen before and this duck is seared beautifully on the outside nice layer of fat
Layer of lean meat. Look at this giant piece of chashu. Holy moly digging in
Oh, the noodles are very thick doesn't look like typical ramen noodles
Wow that broth is so awesome. It's really good broth
Tastes light but good amount of seafood flavor very deep very flavorful. I think
This is the stock they give you before
adding the chilies
You taste the kelp you definitely taste the fish. I think adding the chilies is a good move because
The broth is good. It is a little light for me. Let's try it out with the noodles
The noodles are masterful thick very al dente very chewy
I think it goes really really well with the broth. I'm dying to try a piece of this duck
Very smoky duck love the fatty part of it. Let's try this giant piece of chashu here. Look at that stick
This chashu is amazing
Very thick very smoky. Oh, it's got this earthy element to it
You know the fatty parts of that completely dissolves in your mouth. I could tell already
I want some more I want some vinegar in here. So there's three different kinds of vinegar to add in here
Since I already have chilies in here. I'm gonna try the kelp vinegar in some of this broth
That's very sharp. I'm gonna try the orange vinegar
The orange one obviously brings a little more citrus to the game
I think I prefer the regular spicy vinegar overall very solid bowl noodle
Now this scares me got the dandan noodle with the dashi one when they've set the dandan noodle aside
And I was still slurping the dashi ramen. My nose was being punished by all the chilies as I'm here
I asked for high heat. I think I might have overdone it
I mean, I don't see it, but I can almost feel the flame rising from this dish some pickled radish ground meat
greens onions
Char siu and that same thick ramen that's in the other noodle
I think this is gonna be spicy, but I think this is gonna be really really good. Oh, I should have done this first, but
Egg
Soft boiled egg. Oh, that's slippery
Mix in all that beautiful golden yolk
And that is gonna be appreciated because I can already feel this thing burning me without taking a single bite
This is one of my favorite things. This is so good
I think that he's pretty perfect
They put peanut sauce in here and that creamy element is just accentuated by the creaminess of the egg
They got the nice fatty pieces of char siu in here
I mean the texture is amazing
You got some crunch from the greens and the radish the ultra creaminess of the peanut butter sauce and the egg yolk
I haven't had a lot of bowls of ramen noodles in singapore so far. This one's my favorite so far. It was so good
Eat that take a sip of the broth
That's just the best of both worlds. I like the seafood noodle
Love the heck out of this. I got some rice to go with my dandan noodle
There's just a lot of sauce and meat left. I do want to say after I kept eating it
The second piece of char siu is not as melt-in-your-mouth-y as the first one kind of tough and dry
So if you ever do come here, I wish the tender piece of char siu upon you
If you didn't realize it's staring at me like right here. You get a free little rice with your meal
This is gonna be turned into like a mazamin and then add some shichimi
Oh, I think this one's empty
There we go
I know this is already a little spicy. I can do more
I really like the dandan noodle
Ramen number two is that ramen kaisuki and his self-proclaimed tonkatsu king just sat down
There's a bowl of eggs on this table and a jar of sprouts. You can have as many of these eggs as you want
That's not a bad deal
Got the black tonkatsu and the red spicy tonkatsu try this first
That is really smooth smooth rich creamy, I like that broth a lot
There's a giant piece of char siu like the size of your face really thin straight white noodles some wood ear
some scallions
I like this. This is actually very very nice. The char siu is super thin and most of it is kind of lean but
But that is one tender
Piece of pork also got the black tonkatsu soft boiled egg
I think it's probably black garlic sauce in here wood ear a giant piece of seaweed. Oh my gosh
The char siu is bigger than the bowl
I like this more again
Super rich velvety porky broth and that black garlic just brings up so much great flavor and so much nice aroma
All right, let's crack an egg open
Oh
hard-boiled eggs
Well, you can eat boiled eggs delicious broth
If you just get the regular without any of the set ingredients only about 11 Singapore dollars
So you can definitely fill up a lot
with a bowl of this ramen
this broth
Got the nice combo of the fragrant flavor from the black garlic with a nice hit of heat
The sprouts they have in that jar is not bad either
So the red version is definitely where if you want more heat and not at all the smoky black garlic
I prefer that smoky black garlic. This is definitely one of the best value bowls of ramen i've ever had
So basically this bowl is under 10 us dollars about eight dollars for this giant char siu amazing broth
All you can eat eggs. All you can eat sprouts
That's really hard to find a better deal than that. Everybody's table has japanese mail
I think that's for the eggs. I've never heard of a mail in ramen before look at this. This is so cool
First of all freshly squeezed orange juice machine. This is all over singapore
But look at this. This is so neat. This is from the same company, but here you scan it
It'll unlock you pay it. You can get a coconut. Oh that coconut looks cool. But this is the craziest thing look
coke for 99 singapore cents
These green teas were 99 cents water for 19 cents. That's 19 singapore cents
That's like 15 cents for a bottle of water great prize
Indeed these C&C drinks from haesong
These are so good. I've been drinking that grape drink non-stop. They also got a yogurt flavor
I want to try
And they got honeydew. I bet you that's amazing too. And these things are like jam-packed with vitamin C and they're delicious
Well, there's a watermelon juice too and check out all their coconuts have like a thing on top
You can just open it by slamming it kind of like a romune. Let's go for orange juice
Icy sweet tangy
Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice best part
Two singapore dollars so about a buck fifty freshly screwed. This is at least
An eight ouncer right here
This in the us will be I say minimum six bucks. I'm gonna vitamin c myself every day when i'm here. Oh
nice
Okay. Oh, this is apple. I'll take this
yogurt as well
And one of these these look good and then it just automatically deducts from my ten dollars
A coconut
Right now it's lunch break time. Most singapore restaurants close for lunch break
So i'm gonna go home and drink the drinks. I just got and then wash my shirt and then the ramen tour continues
That was so satisfying. I've never done this before. It was a really fun way to drink a coconut
Like I said this C&C thing
The apple is not as good as the grape
Still not bad. This is the yogurt one
This is so good. Tastes like a sparkly calpico
No sugar tons of peach flavor
I love that by the way, it's my balcony
it's pretty sitting among the trees, but
You feel that humidity so hard
We are at this restaurant called tonkatsu kaze ramen
It's basically like a volcano ramen the way they cook it
It's really interesting because all the ramen's in stone sizzling stone bowls
First of all, I think it's gonna be pretty unique and there's instructions on the back of the menu on how to cook the ramen
So first you pour the soup into the stone pot
Then there's a lid they gave you then you're gonna put it over
Everything and that's gonna continue to cook and when you see steam coming out from the lid
They call it a funka or volcanic eruption wait for one more minute
Then you take the lid off pour out the broth
And your ramen is ready first thing that came to the table
Is this coffee container full of tonkatsu broth and this place also give you unlimited boiled eggs
And here I see people dipping it in soy sauce and hot oil. I want to try that
So she closed the lid I gotta wait one minute my biggest question is
Where are my free boiled eggs?
Oh
This is the beef sukiyaki kazan
So slices of thin beef on top big slices of cabbage thick noodles on the bottom
Oh don't oh that is hot burn my fingers on a stone bowl. So a lot of sprouts noodles. I think this is ready
Let's try the broth
Oh, that's burning hot
I really like the broth. It is very cabbagey
So apparently you gotta take out some of the broth and you can mix that with the egg and you can mix it into the rice
So they brought over a bowl of rice. So take the broth
Mix it in and this is a whole other meal right here
A garlic squisher, but where's the garlic red chili flakes garlic vinegar hot oil and soy sauce hot oil into my rice
And some hot oil into my ramen
All right. First of all, my soup is burning hot. It's in a hot stone bowl. That temperature is not going to come down quick
So you gotta be careful eating this like I said the broth does taste a little cabbagey
Oh, that's burning, but it is also very rich and flavorful
Ramen has a delicious chew. I feel like with the added cabbage. It makes the broth a little sweeter than I will like it
I personally think a little less cabbage. This will be even better
I'm gonna actually go ahead and add some vinegar to kind of dull down the sweet flavor of the cabbage
Oh, yeah much better add the vinegar
Slices of meat
It's nice and tender
Again noodles very chewy
That's what I asked for because sitting in this really hot broth
These noodles are not going to stay chewy for too long
I got another ramen because I didn't really understand how this place worked and which ramen
Got that whole volcano treatment. So only the hot bowl one that's on the menus get the volcano treatment
This is the karamiso ramen. So the spicy
miso ramen
Oh, I like this this is more of a traditional ramen flavor no cabbage in here a lot of sprouts a lot of crunch
straight thin noodles
Nice and chewy soaks up that broth well
Got a good amount of flavor from that fermented miso
I think that chashu is the best I had all day. This is very very nice extremely fatty
But the ling parts are nice and tender
This is maybe my favorite broth of the day or it could be because I really like miso
I think this is very good. I think the stone bowl ramen if it wasn't so cabbagey and sweet
That would be right up my alley, but I really really like this add more vinegar in here
The broth is good, like I said, it's deep it's rich it's just so much cabbage
And that could 100% be a personal preference. A lot of people probably love the cabbage
I just think with the cabbage brings a little too much sweetness. There's about 10 minutes in
The broth is still burning hot. This is definitely not a meal you can eat on the quick
But I do feel like it's one of the most unique ramen places i've been to
One thing I wanted to try
Just a hard boiled eggs. I'm gonna mix a little soy sauce
a little hot oil garlic
Some of this fermented bean paste
That's not too bad
I like this whole thing with that free hard boiled eggs at ramen places here in singapore
Never seen that before. That's a good way to make sure you're not leaving hungry
Hey guys, mike chen. So this is um, sometimes what I do when i'm in singapore
Just go to a new food center
I've never been before and just see what's available because a lot of food stuff sometimes don't show up on search apps and also
Exploring is just fun and here today. I am at the great world shopping center
Then I run into this. Hoto togisu ramen and right now they have a michelin star. Let's go check it out
I've never tried this ramen place before
Um, so they have a super value set which for about five dollars you get
An appetizer and a drink that's pretty good deal and the ramen ranges around 13 to 15 singapore dollars
When you get a ramen set, I think i'll do that
This is so exciting as soon as they brought the ramen over. Oh my goodness. The aroma is just i'm still dizzy
From the knockout punch that threw me so I got two. This is the oyster ramen
Oh my gosh, it looks so pretty. This is a oyster shio. So it's a very light broth
Roasted peppers some arugula on top chopped onions
Scallions chashu and they make their own noodles in the house. I think these are buckwheat noodles
Wow, this is way different than
Any ramen broth I ever had before so much depth as soon as the broth goes down your throat you get hit by that awesome
Oyster flavor. Wow is so present
You know, it's very chewy it has a subtle sweetness on its own as well
It's a very very light
Interesting broth. I think if you really like oysters, this will definitely be your thing
I gotta try this other bowl. This one is the quad meat. So there's four different types of meat in here
So there's uh meatballs there is wonton iberico pork wonton
Chashu and duck in here. So this is definitely the more aggressively seasoned bowl of noodles
Same type of noodle in here
I love this
Oh, this is good. I think the last ramen the oyster broth
I think it's good. It's good. This is sensational. This ramen has much more of a seafood flavor again
Very aggressively seasoned but you taste so much of that nice shrimp and seafood. The broth is thick
It's rich packed full of umami. Let's try out this iberico pork wonton
This is delicious
Really thin skin packed full of meat and the meat itself exudes such amazing flavor and the flavor just drips out more as you chew
All that great seafood flavor went into these noodles as well, this is a duck
Duck is smoky. It's tender
Oh, I think it's chicken meatball that's delicious
and the chashu
That's okay. It's a bit lean. I think my favorite thing here is the wonton and the duck
Oh, actually my favorite thing here is the broth. Wow
This thing is spicy also has that nice seafood-y sweetness. This is a really good bowl of ramen
Also, I got their fried tofu with bonito flakes on top
This thing is really tender inside almost like a tofu pudding. The outside is very crispy. I like this
and the dumplings
That's okay. Light skin little crunchy. My favorite thing though that kua meat ramen that seafood ramen
Wow, that's definitely worth coming for a taste
and I also read the story of the chef and he started with just a
Tiny little restaurant like a five-seater and for the first few years
He was only selling about five bowls of ramen a day almost going bankrupt
Sold all his stuff started living inside his ramen shop trying to perfect his ramen
But now he's got a mission to start wonderful story. He loves his ramen. That's hard work. You can taste
Final food place of the day. This is tirasho ramen
I think have something that costs 68 singapore dollars about 48 us and i'm telling you right now
It's a stupid bowl of ramen. No, no, seriously. He's actually called cold stupid ramen first ramen
I got two because this one also looked really good. I love sukemen
I love it so much and they have this one here. This is the uni ikura sukemen with spicy dipping sauce
This is just beautiful cute little piggy uni on top ikura thick noodles glistening
Ikura, and this is also a uni spicy dipping soup
I definitely taste the uni
Dipping sauce and filled with beautiful and rich seafood flavor a little sweet not very spicy
But those are some thick and chewy noodles each slurp you get so much seafoody flavor, especially the ones where you get that extra
Explosive umami filled braininess. That's a good noodle appetizer
I got a bite here with the noodles and the uni and some wasabi and ikura
That's the best bite. Like I said, I need those textures off the hook poppy and crud just rains down flavor in your mouth
The wasabi cuts through the oil and highlights all that great seafood flavor
It's a very unique but very delicious bowl of sukemen. My cold stupid ramen finally has arrived. I'll admit it's cold
Ain't nothing stupid about this. This might be one of the most beautiful bowls of ramen i've ever seen in my life
I feel like I just want to freeze this hang up on my wall and just stare at it every day inside this
giant sweet shrimp, langoustine, king crab, ikura, masago
And as soon as they walk even near me with this bowl, I smell the truffle all sitting on top of delightfully chewy ramen noodles
As i'm mixing this the truffle aroma is almost becoming a little too much
I mean too much of a good thing and it's so beautiful seeing all these treasures of the sea getting to mingle together like a
Gorgeously delicious little dance mixed together so that every single bite you kind of get a bit of each element of seafood in this dish
That is so powerful that is almost
Overwhelmingly flavorful bite of noodles. I would say if you love seafood if you love ramen
You gotta come give this thing a try if you're ever in singapore
This has just set the standard for cold ramen for seafood noodles. This is now the standard
It's so freaking good that it's just not even fair. First of all, the noodle is perfect
perfectly springy
Amazingly chewy and of course being cold noodles the texture shouldn't stay this way
In every single bite you get the snappiness from the tobiko and they pop so well in your mouth
It has more of a sharp crispy pop than the ikura, but they both explode with that sweet slightly briny
amazing seafood essence every single bite you take the sweet creaminess of the uni if you want to change the flavor profile up a
Little bit incorporate some king crab
I'm trying to take small bites of those will last longer or the lingo steam
Oh, that's so so so so sweet and just knowing all the sweet flavors
It's just natural from all the succulent seafood that's in this bowl
And you get that sweet flavor of the sea paired with a strong earthiness from the truffle
So this is a different type of surf and turf extreme seafoodness meets extreme earthiness
I definitely recommend every single slurp you take get some uni on there
That chewy delicious noodle with that sweet creaminess butter of the sea this
100% warrants the price tag. Sometimes you get an expensive bowl or something plate or something ingredients don't really work well together
Although they're expensive these dare. I say work swimmingly well together, of course best flavor in the head
Oh, that's good. Oh
That was just an extreme blast of concentrated seafood essence
This is not just one of my favorite bowl of ramen in singapore. It's my one of my favorite bowls of ramen anywhere
This is not just dinner. This is an experience
This is a very fitting conclusion to this delicious food day and these flavors gonna last in my mouth
Now my mind for a long long time, yeah, definitely some private time needed with this bowl here
So as always i'll place that when to listen down below for you guys. Thank you all so much for watching until we eat again
See you later
