Chicago Weather: Heat, humidity come with threat of storms

Mark Stroll, this is always I always tell people the benefit of being great friends with a meteorologist You can just look them in the eyes and say hey, what's what's my weather forecast for today good? You know as long as you're not down in the field playing I think you're gonna be okay Otherwise he could if anybody could well true that Because it's gonna be a warm and sweaty day. We've got temperatures today up to about 91 degrees today And it's gonna feel closer to 100 we are starting on with some cloud cover today a little bit of haze Any smoke that we have today not gonna be so much here at the surface if we see some smoke later on today It'll be up in the upper part of the atmosphere Forecast high temperatures today. I'm gonna go 91 here in the city a degree or two cooler along the lake Yeah, perhaps, but we're talking about temperatures very close to 90 degrees today almost universally our forecast model show temperatures upper 80s But you know we're not gonna split hairs over that Temperatures right now 72 along the lakefront 73 at O'Hare at 72 degrees at Midway again We're starting out in the 70s and dew points are in the 70s So many cases we're pretty much at a hundred percent relative humidity, and that's a soupy way to start out the day You can see dew points already up into the low 70s places like Woodstock and Rockford. It is gonna be a humid day It's gonna be humid 48 hours or so here in Chicago. We are under cloudy skies I expect to see the clouds lift a bit as we go towards the afternoon So those clouds lifting bring us more sunshine will only bring us warmer temperatures today the heat index Oh yesterday out to our West place like Kansas City was pretty close to 112 hundred and 13 degrees You can see the heat out to the West that'll be moving our way as we go throughout the next You know 24 to 48 hours day planner today starting out in the 70s You can see that slow transition between mainly cloudy skies and partly sunny skies later on today 91 degrees, but again could feel more like a hundy hundy Thank You marks trail
