Bank Fishing for Columbia River Salmon… Then Our Kayak VANISHED!

it's been the ticket this past week a little cooler water temperatures i think it's doing the trick for us well hey out there all you fishing addicts welcome to another episode of Addicted and it's a freaking scorcher when i got to the boat ramp it was 97 degrees on my truck thermometer yeah you can see Mikey's fried already burned burned but we're uh getting some lines out we are gonna be doing our beach wobbler fishing guys i'm super excited about this we do it every year normally we film a whole entire camp but i'll be honest the fishing's been a little tough this year a lot tougher of a fishery they gave it to us earlier so we only have a couple more days left today's the 14th and then the 15th tomorrow so so we'll see how we do guys stick with us hopefully it's a fun episode let's get into a well we got the evening tide just starting to pull out so we're getting everything set up scented up and ran out and honestly it's been a pretty slow last couple days we've only had a handful of bites not i wouldn't even say handful just a couple of bites in the last couple days the one yesterday my dad was out here and got bit when he was only one of two rods out and it ended up bending a hook out and the boys said it was huge i was running and grabbing somebody but they said it was huge and that was the only bite we got all day yesterday but sounds like this morning the boys were the boys were getting them i was running a trip and i was getting pictures and reports so i was pretty stoked to get back out here for the evening tide so hopefully hopefully tonight's a little bit better than the last couple days why did you get him you saw the bouncer right yeah i don't know it just started wobbling and going that'll work that is such a nice fish that is such a good one good work that's a big surprise surprise that one's caught a few all right pick that thing up dude look at that thing's as big as you dude oh my gosh that's a summer chinook if i've ever seen one that's what a summer chinook should look like right there spread out spots green back chrome all the way on its noggin yeah he ain't there damn dude what's everybody think between 17 and 18 so 19.3 this was your fish right all right we're gonna try and pin this thing in here all right it is in pounds last chance you six 16.7 no no 17.4 17.4 okay all right uh i think we're all off by a little bit 21.2 21.2 yeah yeah nice i was gonna say this is 38 inch cutting board and it fills that up do you see that catch for anybody that doesn't save this piece that is some of the best eating meat on the fish everything just flakes off this piece of cartilage right here and you get i like them i like to make like fettuccine and then i'll cook those i'll cook like three or four of those up and then peel it all off there and make like salmon fettuccine with it super good oh dude look at the marbling on that that's insane yeah that's you don't see a lot of summer fish colored like that that that fish is going a long ways guys it was the ufc fights tonight at the white house and there was no way we were missing them we had but we also had to go fishing because there's no way we're going to miss fishing for summer chinook so that's the cool thing about technology is we were watching it and we're fishing you think i'm scared of a bug i am i already have alpha gal so nothing to worry about we're trying to set up camp for the night here but we're not prepared very well gotta get the hammock going and we're gonna be sleeping good bedtime you got drugged up it's a good question bad went to sleep didn't bring the kayak up high enough on the beach now uh we're without a kayak kind of up shits creek like you know that movie without a paddle so i guess we're gonna have to swim them out there's a good swimmer walk the rocks training time let's go it's definitely a kayak i think we uh spotted the kayak way on the other side on the oregon side you want to see our kayak there it is out in the columbia river what best way to wake up in the night and we fish again nice recovery mission everyone gets to go home to their families now keep going up come towards me get in tighter go ahead and drop it all right guys we got all the rods in we got our hostess donuts crunch mini donuts getting rocking we might cook some bacon here soon i think we just got some bacon and eggs we're gonna get rocking and hopefully we're gonna catch a bunch of fish that's the that's what's on the agenda today and we've already started today off really dialed you know we woke up half of our stuff was buried under the water our kayak was like 800 yards down river feeling good about it you know usually when you have to go through some adversity that's when good good ---- happens i feel like don't you i agree adversity makes for success success i like it that's our slogan put it on the screen right here sean adversity makes success and nos yeah and nos makes success too early morning watermelon bite scott's not here but he'd be proud is that the sturgeon rod yeah get it jason dude that was insane okay this was the sturgeon dude thing got yanked in the water basically i had to save it yeah there's no sturgeon on the end so it makes me very sad it just instantly broke off awesome a lot of weeds got him oh he just came off yeah he was stuck in the weeds i couldn't do anything god this is a disaster well i don't know why we don't have a lighter oh no got about 10 lighters yeah unscrew that before we blow up well we can use that thing to cook and if someone will clean those pans i'll cook the bacon in those pans our barbecue started on fire guys our barbecue started on fire so we had to improvise with this little stove we're making it work but it's been a little bit of a tough morning we just lost two fish back to back broke off a sturgeon not a good start but that's how it goes like i said adversity breeds success let's get another one hooked up here soon he's definitely still there my first plunking salmon super cool out here doing this i don't i thought it was your first salmon ever second second salmon ever i think so oh yeah hard to tell those weeds like dragging them in he was there for a second never felt any head shakes or anything like that just dragging in dead weight dude are you kidding me yeah that doesn't suck that's it right there dude all right guys the fishing's starting to go now we just landed one we lost another one so everyone's working now this is where all the teamwork comes into play and i'm trying to get breakfast cooked the boys are trying to rerun rods so we're gonna do a little riverside bacon delivery riverside bacon delivery thank you sir riverside bacon delivery we gotta get the kayak runner thank you grab yourself a little handful you're not gonna just one just ain't gonna do it right that boy's gonna eat the rest riverside bacon delivery dude sweet bro yeah dude nice post fight refuel yeah dude post fight refuel this is sam guys he just caught the fish his first ever columbia river chinook first ever checked off the list that rod's getting smashed right there right there right dude we almost forgot about sean we got a fish on we gotta get sean some bacon it didn't go the way it should wow it's a wild the net got like caught around my fingers so i flipped it like a flapjack scars in it that's one way to release a fish nice dude i didn't nope we're having some serious grill issues here guys we ran out of propane this one started on fire me and jason had to spend an hour cleaning it i'm now into cooking three packages of bacon two hours it's taking me meanwhile i didn't even get a chance at any of the fish because i'm over here slaving away at this bacon someone start breaking eggs in here we'll just get a big old scramble going what we got out here limited sources i give it a michelin star one bite everybody knows the rules seasoned well it's seven six seven point six out of ten ten point two out of ten the seasoning sends it over the top really good now you're fishing really good is when you can't even see your wobbler float camouflage we're working our way down the bank cleaning off each rod reeling one up getting it ready and when it's on the way back out we're reeling the next one in trying to have everything ready before sam gets back in with the kayak and we can send them back out nice and quick get this done a little bit faster you're good so lame you didn't put up a fight at all there at the end dude look at that guys what a platinum look at that one that's the one you're after folks you can tell very little spotting basically essentially no spots on his head that's going to be a good eater right there sweet been grinding for him a little today guys we put some on the bank but it hasn't been very easy that's for sure another rod another fish here running for hell but nothing yeah i'm winded i'm getting too old for this well it's pack up time it's a great time on the beach lots of fun lots of hanging out enough fish to keep us busy it's a great first plunking experience we'll definitely be back bye beach see you next year love you it was real it
