New Zealand definitely has some famous climbing like Castle Hill or more south in the Durance.
But New Zealand is also pretty small and very wild so it's a lot about road tripping and exploring.
We decided to make our way from Castle Hill to the Durance through the west coast.
Along the way we found that little pile of white rocks.
This is where people travel through and write their names on rocks and then throw them in the pile.
Should we do that too? Yes.
So we're like ah let's leave our mark too and uh leave our little piece of rock with our name and
the day and our world was traveled.
We're gonna go for a walk in the swamp forest.
It's avatar do you want to connect the bells?
We're in the rain forest.
Wow look at this tree.
Wow.
Going into a hole.
Oh god there's a spiderweb in my face.
Does it look like the path for stranger things?
We're at the brown waters.
It's definitely good.
So those big trees are the kaikatia and it's actually pine trees.
Roaring billy waterfall.
I thought it was going to be a bit more roaring.
This is the thunder creek fall.
Very cold, very cool.
We're at the blue pool's parking lot.
We think it's gonna be some blue water.
We just had a nice little cappuccino hot chocolate working break at that wonderful little cafe.
We decided because we're gonna be doing a lot of road tripping.
Try every other day to work out.
No matter if it's in a weird location.
Which it might be today.
Oh that one.
That's weird.
It's cool.
Long-term camper over here.
Even this dog has a house.
Bok choy, garlic.
Charlotte's doing a bit of organizing.
Rain look.
Even when camping.
Charlotte makes classy fresh squeezed orange juice.
Making brekkie.
This is good toxic pan.
Where are we going Charlotte?
Try to find the cliffs.
Another waterfall in New Zealand.
A man-made aqueduct feeding the town.
On the bridge.
On the water pipe.
And that's where we're gonna climb.
We made it to the main walk.
The main walk.
It is granite schist.
Good memories of running.
Charlotte is climbing up the arete.
Rad arete.
With a rad, rad view.
We just climbed a nice route called the Leviathan.
Which I think is how you pronounce it.
Slightly overhanging face.
With awesome schist features at the beginning.
And then one little crack section.
And then very sustained until the top.
So it was a good resistant test piece.
And it was a beautiful route.
It's a 8a+, which has only been done twice.
We just did the third and fourth ascent.
That's the day.
Climbing, filming, and now we're hiking out.
And we're taking a little bit of a shortcut.
The pipe leads right to the car.
