Video Summary
AI GeneratedRepublican Congressman Max Miller is facing severe allegations of domestic abuse against his ex-wife and daughter. While Miller denies the claims and Republican leadership, including Speaker Mike Johnson, has declined to take action, Miller's former father-in-law, Senator Bernie Moreno, has publicly called for his resignation, citing dangerous and erratic behavior.
Mike Johnson was just hit with a devastating resignation bombshell,
and it is making his one job in the Congress incredibly difficult. And that job, of course,
isn't serving the American people. It's certainly not serving his constituents in Louisiana.
He doesn't do that for sure. Mike Johnson's job is to keep and maintain a majority
that protects Donald Trump in the Epstein class. That's it. And so in doing so,
Mike Johnson himself is protecting a class of criminals in the Congress, sex criminals,
financial criminals. And one of them that we have been talking about nonstop on this show lately
is Max Miller, who we just got new news about a Republican coming out with a resignation bombshell.
It is rocking Mike Johnson, the Republican Congress, and of course, Donald Trump.
We are going to get into it all, and it starts with the disgusting video that Max Miller
released this morning defending himself and his crimes. It is truly abhorrent,
and it's what led to this resignation bombshell.
My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her.
Here's what actually happened, and I have the ring doorbell footage that backs it up.
She came to my home in a good mood, and we have text messages to prove it, which you'll have,
to pick up our daughter early for a friend's birthday party.
She was inside my house for several minutes when she left. The video shows her walking out,
carrying our daughter calm, in the same good mood, showing no distress whatsoever.
And as they left, you can hear me say, goodbye, I love you, and I love you, Ruthie,
literally telling my ex-wife that I still cared for her.
Does that sound like somebody who would just walk out and who had been violently thrown a wall
and been abused? She didn't call the police after that. She didn't go to the hospital,
ladies and gentlemen. Do you want to know what she did? She went straight to a child's birthday
party. The very next day, we had a friendly phone call about our daughter's upcoming hospital
procedure, and I drove in from Washington to be there for her. Six days later, she offered to
cook empanadas for me for dinner, just two days later after this alleged incident. The day after
that, she invited me and my girlfriend, which you'll have in text messages, to join her and
our daughter at a playground. And that day, I just went with my former wife to the playground
to spend time with our daughter. A week later, on February 15th, she wrote to me
in her own words, which you will see, I think it's great you and I are in a friendlier place.
She then offered me more extra overnights with our daughter, which I can prove to every single
one of you is recently, every one of these messages is time stamped on our court-sanctioned
parenting app and is all in the packet. Only weeks later did the story of February 1st assault
appear, so ask yourself, if I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days
later? Would she have invited me to spend an afternoon at the playground with her and our
daughter? Would she have written that we were in a friendlier place? No, she wouldn't have,
ladies and gentlemen. This is a truly reprehensible person who should not only not
be in the Congress, he should be in jail. And the fact that, as we're going to see later in
this video, there are so many Republicans who continue to say, well, let it play out in the
court, play out in the court. Oh, it's just an allegation. These are court records documenting
his abuse of his wife and of his two-year-old child. It's not a he said, she said. It's not
anonymous. It's not fabricated. It's not made up. It's not just some post on the internet.
This is real. These are court documents. And the idea that let it play out in court runs
counter to what we're, we are also saying it can play out in court, but he shouldn't be a member
of Congress while it does. You are not entitled to your seat, especially when you are an abuser,
and that is what he is. But Mike Johnson doesn't care. All the man has said is, well,
I haven't seen that. Well, we'll let it play out in court. Well, I'm not sure. Well,
it was an allegation. Mike Johnson's job in every single facet is to defend the Epstein class,
to defend a class of predators, to defend a class of criminals, to defend a class of abusers.
That is Mike Johnson's job as Speaker of the House, to obstruct any progress in holding those
people accountable. But it just got more difficult because a Republican, and that Republican is
Bernie Moreno, Max Miller's ex-father-in-law, is calling for his resignation. Bernie Moreno,
after that video that Max Miller released went live on Twitter this morning, said,
as a father and husband, I can tell you that the last two years have been pure hell for my wife,
Bridget, our daughter, Emily, me, and our entire family in the aftermath of Emily's divorce.
It has been horrific to watch this play out in full public view, all while knowing an innocent
two-year-old girl is caught in the middle. Our priority has always been protecting our daughter
and our granddaughter. Out of concern for the safety of my family, I hope to keep this matter
private, but Max Miller's increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior has made that impossible.
Republican Senator Bernie Moreno continues, as he has admitted privately,
Max Miller needs serious psychological help. He is a danger to my daughter,
and I hold my breath every minute he is custody of my granddaughter.
If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office,
Max Miller fails them. He should not serve in the House of Representatives. I believe Max Miller
needs to seek professional help to end the clear pattern of abuse he has left in his wake.
I believe he should not be free to continue endangering others until he does.
I ran for office because I wanted to make a difference for the country that gave me
every opportunity to succeed and to leave this nation better for my children and my grandchildren.
That sacrifice has been especially hard on my wife, Bridget, whose big heart and steady support
have never wavered. I owe it to her, to Emily, and to my granddaughter to speak the truth now.
Senator Bernie Moreno is saying that Max Miller should step down from Congress,
should resign, should seek help, and should lose custody of his child.
I do not know what took so long. What took so long? Saying I wanted to keep this private,
how would that have helped anything? That's what I don't get. It wasn't private. It was very public
because he's an elected official, and it would continue to be very public.
All while he was an elected official, the man should not be in Congress. There is a
serious entitlement problem in Washington, DC. We see it with Mitch McConnell right now,
entitled to vote against any sort of paid sick leave, family leave, paid leave of any kind in
this country. Do you know how many Americans have any paid time off, just vacation days?
It is such a small number, it would make your head spin. It is wild that this is what Mitch
McConnell is doing right now, entitled to his time, he believes, while his staff get paid
to cover up. And now we have Bernie Moreno saying, well, I didn't want to keep it.
I want to keep it private. Well, it's not because you decided to run for office. Max Miller shouldn't
be in office. I'm glad he said it, but I just don't know what took so long. I truly don't.
And I don't know why this hasn't been a bigger story in the media.
I don't want to equate these things. But the fact that there was, and rightfully so, a news cycle
about Graham Plattner, every Democrat immediately, including myself, who had previously endorsed him
and of course rescinded that endorsement, called for Graham Plattner to step down immediately.
And what are we doing here? Republican after Republican. Allegation. No, I'm not sure. Let
it play out in court. You can let it play out in court. There is a difference between losing your
job in Congress and going to jail. Those things aren't the same. But if you view being in elected
office, abusing that elective office as your privilege, as your right, something that is owed
to you, then yeah, fundamentally in your broken brain, you probably do equivocate it to being in
jail. If you don't get to be a congressperson, what's the point of life? They've taken everything
from me. It is not given to you. This is service. And it seems that nobody does that anymore.
Nobody wants to serve this country. They're just serving themselves.
Getting the checks from AIPAC, big oil, big banks, kind of resting on the laurels in the
congressional office, trading stocks, and they don't care. But this should have been a bigger
story in the media. And the fact that it wasn't is disgraceful. The fact that more Republicans
haven't been asked about this is disgraceful. But one was this morning, a Republican from Ohio.
His answer, just shameless.
I want to get to a bit of politics. Out in Ohio, your colleague Max Miller,
according to the latest court filing, he's been accused of domestic abuse.
The court filing says he shoved his then wife, held a gun to her head, poured hot water on her,
and had concerns he may have broken their two-year-old daughter's collarbone,
according to both police reports and court documents that were filed.
He just went live in a social media stream and denied these allegations within the past hour.
My question is not about his marriage or his personal life, but I'm asking about the politics
here and the party. Should there be an ethics probe to look into this?
Well, Margaret, what you just said when you began this question is that this is
a matter of litigation. This is best handled in a courtroom and not in a TV studio.
That type of speculation is better for TMZ than CBS.
Well, we've covered with other lawmakers, including in the other party, the Democratic
Party, credible allegations against people running for office. We take those allegations seriously.
When it comes to Mr. Miller, he was previously accused in 2021 by President Trump's former
spokesperson of abusing her when they dated. So given these two instances,
is it at least something Republican leadership should look into?
Well, again, this is an issue that is currently part of a divorce and part of litigation that's
in a courtroom. And the court should be handling this, which is clearly ongoing.
And that's where this needs to be, not in a television studio.
So it doesn't matter to you?
It's not that it doesn't matter to me. This is where the court needs to handle this. The
court has filings, which is what you just said. You were reading that there were court filings.
As to whether or not it's the truth and where the truth will then be resolved,
which is where things belong in a court where people file papers in a court, as you just read.
So you want the court to handle it before Republican leadership looks into it?
This is litigation. This is a court matter, not a television matter.
Right. And not one for Republican leadership is what I hear you saying.
I've said to you that this is not one for you and I to handle in a television studio.
This is one that's in court.
Okay. We handle these allegations seriously regardless of the political party.
And these are not media allegations. As you said, they're court documents.
Congressman Miller claimed it was a media construct.
And it's being handled in court, which is where it belongs.
I got it. You don't want to comment. I understand.
You gotta be kidding me. I'm not surprised, as we always say on this show.
Never surprised, always disgusted with the Republican Party.
But why do they think that this is a good response?
I think we should let it play out in court.
Are the only criteria that you have to meet to be in Congress not a convicted felon?
Up until that point, it's all fine.
Because Donald Trump is a convicted felon.
So clearly to the Republican Party, even that is not enough.
This is the entitlement problem.
You don't get to keep your seat as you're going through this legal battle.
And as you're abusing your child and your wife, you don't get to keep it and see how it plays out.
It's not something that you're entitled to.
It is an un-American view to think that we owe respect and patience for
and privacy to our elected officials.
They're like, oh, you know, we're people too. We're people too.
We have stories and families.
It's like, well, you don't act that way when it's us.
When you're legislating for us, you treat us as numbers, practically cattle.
Yet we have to give you respect?
No, the process can play out.
The legal process is different than the should you be in Congress process.
Max Miller should resign.
No matter how this shakes out, he will be losing his seat.
So at least there's that.
But he should resign.
And we will continue to call for it on this show.
We will continue to call out the media if they're not talking about it enough.
And if you want to support that, as always, you can hit that subscribe button.
Leave a like on this video.
If you're stuck around at the end, drop a blue heart in the comments.
Keep on fighting, y'all.
Don't let them silence you.
And until next time, I'll see you soon.
