What's up my loves? It's your girl Rachel. Today we're going to be decorating my bedroom for
Christmas. As much as I love Halloween, she'll be done in a couple of days. So it's time to get ready
for the jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock. Full transparency, this was the current
look of my room. It was terrible. It was crazy. So before even starting to decorate,
I had to clean up for a clean slate. I had to start by taking down the decorations first. Now
my bed is usually always made, but this day it was just looking crazier than usual. No excuses,
just being completely honest. I was backed up on laundry. You know, mom life. But anyway, I really
wanted to get my room decorated for the holiday season and I am someone who decorates very early
so that I could really soak it all in. So I was very excited to clean up, have everything have
its own place, really organize. Cleaning up this bedroom took longer than I thought, okay? For sure
a whole day, but it was so worth it and I was really happy to get things down. So not only did
I take off all of the fall and Halloween decor, I did take off some of that decor that you see
off this area as well, just because I wanted to go for like a simple look for Christmas this year.
Now while my husband was trying to be funny, pretending like he couldn't hold my box of
Christmas decorations, but then actually dropped it. That was something. But I am gonna go ahead
and start decorating. I only spent five dollars on decorating my room this year and this was the
only purchase that I made, which was from the Dollar Tree, a pre-lit garland. I decided to put
it over my headboard. This year I was going for a very simple, elegant, minimal theme.
When I say this is a realistic Christmas decorate with me, look at me talking to my husband on the
phone. But anyway, I wanted to dress up my mirror. This actually was cut from a longer piece of
garland, which came from the Dollar Tree within previous years, but it needed a little spruce
or something. So I added a bow to it. I thought it was really cute and tiny and then I went ahead
and started working on my tree. Now this tree was my kid's tree from last year. It came from
Five Below. I don't know what happened to the stand part, but I thought okay let me make something to
you know help revive it. I didn't want to throw the tree away. I was trying to keep it budget
friendly this year. So I got this basket that was used for plenty of things. I put a blanket
underneath the tree trying to give it like a snow effect, but really I wanted to keep the tree up.
Then I decided to just put lights on it and some pearls, keeping it very minimal, but I really
liked it. This is my side of the room, so I love being close to the tree and decorating a tree is
my favorite part. Like I said, this is the most minimal I've ever decorated a tree. I decided to
go with a no ornament look for my room just to keep it plain, especially because my kids come
in and out a lot and I was not trying to have them touch anything. Okay.
Hands down, this was the hardest part of my room to decorate. It's our business little area,
our editing nook, and our music station area. All right, you get the point. It's where we do
all of our fun things, but it was hard because naturally it already looks cluttered with our
shelving. So I was kind of trying to play around with it, what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted some
greenery there. I decided to remove the picture of my husband and the calendar to give some wall
space and just add a few things. I played around with it, moved things around. In the end, I liked
it. I liked how I put the stockings there and it's just really cute. So you get that feel, but it's
not too overwhelming. I decided to not put lights around the area. I was, but I was like, no, you
know, let me just like, let me try to keep it simple. So I really liked it. Let me know what
you think. Now, my TV area was my favorite to decorate. I knew I wanted to keep it extra simple.
Usually I put a lot of things on my TV stand, but my husband's always like, girl, I need to change
the TV and you have things blocking it. So I was like, okay, I'm just going to do garland this year.
Garland is my go-to and add some lights. This garland did come from Dollar Tree a few years
back or maybe even Dollar General. It is really long. So I was like, let me fold it. I didn't want
to cut it just in case. I just went ahead and folded it and just added some lights. I realized
this one was too thin. So I did switch it out for a garland with some like white specks that you'll
see. And y'all again from the Dollar Tree, you really can't beat it. So I really liked it. Just
fold it up and call it a day, honey. And I added some clear lights. I didn't want to do color in
the room because all around the house, I usually do a lot of colors. So I thought, you know what,
let's make my room just green, warm tones. And that's kind of the vibe I was going for.
Welcome, love. Welcome to the Christmas bedroom. I kept it simple this year. There was really no
specific theme other than minimal. I reused everything from last year aside from one
thing. So there was only one exception. It cost five dollars. So I spent five dollars
to decorate my Christmas bedroom. Let's take a quick tour. So when you first enter and you look
over to my husband's side, you just see this little chair right here with some Christmas
pillows. Now, those are from Five Below last year. There is a little slit in the side that my kids
made, I think, last year. So I didn't want to throw them away just yet. I decided to put them
there just for a cute little Christmassy touch. And then we have this really cute Santa right
there. And yeah, we've had him for many years. My bedding, I kept it the same, very simple,
just white. It goes with everything. And then this is the five dollar garland that I got today from
Dollar Tree. That is all I spent this season for Christmas, which is really cool. So on my mirror,
I decided to cut a piece of garland and put it over on top of the mirror with a little piece of
ribbon. The other half of the garland is over here, which is underneath our little officey nook,
which I try to keep pretty simple, not too cluttered. You let me know what you think,
but I really like it. We have our stockings, me and my husband. And then we just have this cute
little Let It Snow sign, Dollar Tree a few years back. And yeah, just our favorite little things.
This is our makeshift studio. I don't even know what happens to the other half,
but that's neither here nor there. From the bed, you look straight over to our TV.
And right here, we just have just garland. I just I didn't want to put anything extra on it. My kids
are always in and out of our bedroom, y'all. So I was like, you know what? The less, the better.
So there's no need for them to knock things over. This was from Dollar Tree a few years back,
and I folded it. It's quite long. And I just threw some lights over it and, you know, yeah,
called it a day. I tried to do all white lights in our room this year. And then this is really cute.
It's a picture that says house rules, eat, drink and be merry. I just love it. And that was a gift
for me for Christmas, but a few years back. OK, this is my favorite area right here. It is my
tree. So this tree came from Five Below last year and it was my kid's tree.
Now, I don't know what happened to the bottom half of the tree, the little legs, but
I didn't want to throw it away. I didn't want to spend on a tree for my room this year.
So I decided to get this little basket that I had in my living room with my fall tree
and then wrap it up with some blanket so that she can stand up and boom, she's a little taller.
She's not too much, but she's, you know, she's here. And again, simple lights, no ornaments,
but I do have these beads and I really like it. Oh, and then on my side, I have this cute little
snowman. I don't know if he was made or not, but I found him in my Christmas bin. So maybe it was
a family members from the past. But yeah, this is our room. I love it. Very elegant, I think.
I hope you enjoyed the video, y'all. I tried to be very realistic with it. I think it's really
nice to just kind of look through what you previously had, you know, just to save money.
I know it's fun to like get new things, but you don't always have to. So I hope you enjoyed. Let
me know what was your favorite piece of decor, if you like my decor, what theme you decided to do,
if you do a theme, when you decorate, all the good things. And I'll see you in the next one. Bye.
And before I forget, I did make some Christmas pens this season. It's super
festive. And if you decide to purchase, it comes with a cute little notepad.
Y'all, it'll be in the description on how you can get one. Until next time, love y'all.
