Firefighters making significant progress containing multiple fires around Reno, Nevada, which
has forced more than 40,000 people to evacuate.
This comes as a fire burning outside of Dallas-Fort Worth is on the move.
Fox's Weather's Brandi Campbell has the latest.
Firefighters work to contain the quickly spreading Ross Blaze west of Dallas, one of several
wildfires burning in the western part of the U.S. this summer.
The fire grew to 80,000 acres overnight after sparking on Monday and was only 12 percent
contained by Wednesday morning.
We did experience some significant growth along the northwestern side of the fire.
This is due to wind shifts overnight.
The cause is still under investigation and there's no immediate report on how many homes
have been impacted in the Palo Pinto County and Jack County.
We do have a team assessing damage.
They've been working diligently to assess the threats to these structures in that fire.
Meanwhile, first responders have made significant progress on multiple fires in Nevada, including
the Hawk Fire near Reno, which destroyed more than 50 homes.
Officials say containment jumped from 27 percent Tuesday night to 85 percent by Wednesday morning.
The fire has been determined to be human caused, but authorities are still searching for suspects.
We are actively working and using all of the tools that we have to our advantage to identify
those individuals.
Nevada's Bug Fire is also reported to be 97 percent contained after devastating many structures
in the area.
Some evacuees have been allowed to return home to begin assessing the damage.
I'm kind of dead right now.
I don't have a lot of feelings.
And FEMA has approved funding in both Nevada and Texas to help these states put out the
fires.
For now, in Palo Pinto County, Texas, I am Brandi Campbell, Fox News.
