Two Russian Su-35S fighter jets collided in Russia's Kursk region, according to Russian propagandist Ilya Tumanov, who runs the aviation Telegram channel Fighterbomber .
"Two Su-35S fighter jets collided in the Kursk region. The cause is being investigated," he wrote. According to the propaganda Telegram channel "Voevoda Veshet ," one pilot died, and the second was evacuated. As a reminder, the Su-35S is a Russian-made, 4+-generation multirole jet fighter. It is considered one of the most powerful modern fighters in Russia, second only to the new Su-57.
The Su-35 has a wide range of weapons. Specifically, it can use the long-range R-37M air-to-air missile, which has a range of approximately 300 km.
The Su-35S is also equipped with an N035 Irbis phased array radar, which enables target detection at significant ranges. Previously, experts from the Defence24 portal calculated that the Russian military received 14 new combat aircraft in the first eight months of 2026. During this period, the occupiers received six Su-35S, four Su-57, two Su-30SM2, and two Su-34 aircraft. According to the publication's estimates, over the past eight months, Russia has lost at least eight aircraft to destruction - one Tu-95, one Tu-22M, one Su-57, one Su-35, three Su-34s, and one Su-30.
On the night of September 6-7, an enemy aircraft was shot down on the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula . This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Active Operations Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"This night, operators from the Main Intelligence Directorate's Active Operations Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine destroyed an enemy aircraft on the temporarily occupied peninsula," the statement said. It is also noted that the extent of the damage is being clarified. The GUR added that this was a gift for Military Intelligence Day of Ukraine. "Crimea has already appreciated it!" the publication states. Ukrainian drones hit Russian Mi-35 and Mi-8 helicopters at the Taganrog-Tsentralny airfield , Militarny reports. The publication reported that this is evidenced by satellite images published by analysts on the Telegram channel "Absolutely Reliable Source." It is noted that the strike on the airfield in the Rostov region took place on the night of September 7. "One Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed and one Mi-35 was damaged," analysts noted. It is noteworthy that this airfield is located approximately 40 km from the state border of Ukraine. The publication added that the airbase is actively used by the Russian military. The 325th Aircraft Repair Plant, which repairs transport aircraft and components for the Il-76, is located on its premises.
