Ukrainian Bars rocket-drone is already being used daily in strikes against Russia in complete secrecy. A representative of the manufacturer revealed details of the development to the publication for the first time. According to him, the Bars was designed as a jet-powered drone for deep strikes. Initially, it had a small warhead—22 kilograms. Now, the company is talking about a warhead weighing up to 60 kilograms, with a range of over 1,000 kilometers at speeds of up to 700 km/h.

"We had a certain percentage of drones that passed through three layers of Russian air defense and made successful hits , " said a Bars representative. He stated that such drones are no longer sitting in warehouses, but are being sent straight to the front lines and used daily. Production, he said, exceeds 2,000 units per month in various modifications and configurations. "They're now used every day. More than 2,000 units are produced per month in various modifications and configurations. They're not kept in reserve—everything goes into battle. Missions include oil refineries, power plants, and substations. "Furthermore, our drones perform certain specialized tasks that are currently little or not disclosed at all. They perform these tasks precisely because they have capabilities that conventional, non-jet drones lack," the company representative said. The new modification is equipped with a camera and is controlled by a remote control. These drones have been used for special missions in the Black and Azov Seas, Crimea, and other temporarily occupied territories.
Ukraine has "successfully" trialed another interceptor drone designed to target Russian jet-powered Shahed drones, President Volodymyr Zelensky said following a briefing by Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi.
As Russia expands its arsenal of Shahed-type jet-powered drones, including the Geran-3, Geran-4, and Geran-5, and the cruise missile-like Banderol loitering munition, Ukraine is facing mounting difficulties intercepting the weapons during prolonged attacks, with Kyiv and the surrounding region frequently targeted. "A 'shahed' was hit successfully, but some aspects of controlling the interceptor still need to be refined. The work continues – it will take some more time," Zelensky wrote on X.
