🎬 ABOUT THE MORE THE MERRIER 🎬

To alleviate a wartime housing shortage, Connie Milligan (Jean Arthur) rents a room in her Washington, D.C. apartment to industrialist Benjamin Dingle (Charles Coburn), who promptly sublets half of his room to aircraft inventor Joe Carter (Joel McCrea). Though uncomfortable with the arrangement at first, Connie agrees to let Joe stay. However, seeing that Connie isn't happy in her engagement to a government bureaucrat, Dingle plays matchmaker between her and Joe. When a mix-up leads to her and Joe being arrested for espionage, her fiancée's reaction causes Connie to call off the wedding. So, after agreeing to salvage her reputation with a marriage of convenience, upon his return from war, Joe and Connie discover that they really are in love.
