Perhaps, as one ages
and hopefully explores,
grows,
at least internally,
emotionally,
even spiritually,
one might come to examine
what makes it all worthwhile?
One’s creativity,
one’s passion:
one’s burning desire,
the expression of love,
one’s very essence,
of life itself?
What do we offer the world?
What is one’s truest wealth?

My own journey of expression,
served by the pen [as poetry],
exploring philosophy,
and the view,
[through a glass rectangle]
of the world
that presents itself
as somehow more valid
than to my eye lays credit?

To do, for nothing more
than the purity of enjoyment:
pleasure,
without guilt,
a body of deliberation,
layered delicately,
freely built,
that explores the subtlety of quietude,
even solitude,
perhaps even the elegance of grace?

These 36 images:
an extracted tease,
gently unfurling
a once that was,
or to be, perhaps,
as so discovered,
momentarily enveloped
within the fold of a crease?

Within the creative expression,
the exploration of our world,
through the glass rectangle,
the camera lens,
[or even the pen],
one’s truest wealth
might be our very self
that we come to meet?“ 〰️
