This photographic series documents the activities of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) along the United States–Mexico border. CBP was established in 2003 as part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for border security, customs enforcement and immigration control at ports of entry and along international boundaries. The U.S.–Mexico border extends approximately 1,954 miles across California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, covering a range of environments including urban areas, desert regions, mountains and river corridors. The photographs in this collection show CBP personnel, patrol operations, vehicles, border infrastructure, checkpoints and locations associated with border enforcement.

The images record the physical environment and operational activities of CBP, including areas such as San Diego and San Ysidro in California, and other border locations across the southwest United States. The series includes photographs of border barriers, patrol vehicles, agents on duty, aircraft, facilities and equipment used in the monitoring and management of the border. The collection forms part of the official photographic archive maintained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and was created to document the work and activities of the agency.

The majority of photographs in this series were taken by Jerry Glaser and Josh Denmark, staff photographers for U.S. Customs and Border Protection within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Their role involves producing official photographic documentation of CBP operations, personnel and facilities across the United States. Their images form part of the wider CBP Photography archive, which records the activities, locations and resources of the agency.
