It was another busy, wild day around here with Miss Kira and Eleanor. Between running lunch out to Jamie at the house where the roof is officially finished, catching super loud military fighter jets flying right overhead from the combat readiness training center, and getting ready for our upcoming camping trip, there was never a dull moment. The fall winds are kicking up in northern Michigan, which means temperatures are swinging and the huskies are blowing coat like crazy. We have loose floofs flying everywhere, so coat blowouts on the grooming table are happening next!
Before the day got away from us, it was time to leash up the girls for an evening walk to hunt for bunnies and squirrels. Walking two hyper Siberian Huskies always keeps you on your toes, especially when people leave weird things along the road like random bread slices and dumped cat litter. But things got a little chaotic when I spotted a pile of sharp, shattered glass right in our walking path. I scooped it up to protect other paws, only to realize I had to carry disintegrating shards barehanded all the way back until a kind neighbor stepped in to help.
Once we got back home safe with no cuts, it was all about dinner, couch snuggles, and figuring out how to share the bed with two giant floofs. Eleanor completely stretched out and claimed Memphis's old favorite spot right on the edge of the mattress. It is going to be bittersweet heading out on our first camping trip without Memphis, but we are keeping our spirits up and making the best memories every single day. Life is short, make memories with your dogs!
