The Wall Street Journal reports that the Kremlin, through post-Soviet criminal networks, has offered a $20 million reward for information on the whereabouts of Major Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Force. This shows how painful a figure Brovdi has become for Moscow.
A WSJ journalist described the security measures she had to undergo to gain access to the command post of the Unmanned Systems Forces somewhere in southeastern Ukraine. She said that before the meeting, she had to disable geolocation on her phone, put it in airplane mode, and then place it in a Faraday bag , which blocks Wi-Fi, cellular, Bluetooth, and GPS signals. It displays the number of Russians his units have killed that day: "When we start talking after lunch, the display shows 302. When the conversation ends, the digital display on Brovdi's desk shows 343 Russians killed—41 more than at the beginning of the conversation."
Robert "Madyar" Brovdi says that unmanned aerial forces continue their operation against Russia's "shadow fleet," which transports oil and fuel to the aggressor in defiance of international sanctions. According to him, 300 vessels have already been disabled in the 11 weeks of Operation "MoLoChKa ." The operation has been ongoing since July 6, 2026.
