AFTV, Ryan, 2-1 to the Arsenal against Chelsea. This was the big test so far,
and I mean, like, all right, we played City in the Community Shield, that's Community Shield.
This is the Premier League, their attack's been on fire. What did you make of it?
I do think they've got a very great attack on paper, I have to say. It's probably,
you could in theory say it's better than ours, just in terms of how it gels, but
I don't think they're quite ready. But we weren't really 100% of the races, at least in that first
half. And you know that? That goal did take it out of us a little bit. It was a good goal,
but yeah, Ryan probably should have done better. But look, it's the start of the game,
I'm not going to knock him too much. But we started to look a little bit shaky after that.
Obviously, a disallowed goal, it doesn't help the momentum.
Shaky? Do you think we looked shaky after that?
Later on in the first? Yeah, yeah, we looked a bit nervous, like,
do you not think so? And you know what? I've been an advocate for Esby Constant to come in,
and I still am, and I still stand by that. Didn't have the greatest game today until
the last-ditch tackle. I was in the North Bank today as well, so I saw it from the side,
but it was amazing. But I still think he's a great signing. But I do think our team are
still gelling as well. We made a lot of signings. I am a little bit concerned about Joquez not
playing as much, but Havertz today was warranted to start.
Havertz, you've got to say with Havertz, right?
Both goals are him. Yeah, you've got to say with Havertz.
I was having this sort of, not argument, but I was with a fan before the game, I was saying,
he deserves to start. He scored in the Community Shield. He scored in the Champions League.
He scored in the first game of the season. All right, he didn't score on a Monday night.
He's been scoring, and I think the guy who's scoring
has the shirt until the form drops. And that's what football's all about, isn't it?
Yeah, no, no, I'm not taking any of that away. Whilst I do think the bigger picture is we should
have signed a striker and a left winger, I do think today you've got to give Havertz props,
you know what I'm saying? No, he was, to me, a man of the match. I can't really deep really
anyone else. That was really, he did so much today. The goal was amazing, his goal.
And even though Martin, I should have probably done better, but the goal was great.
And even the dummy off to Martin Odegaard, which is good for Odegaard's confidence as well,
because I've been an advocate for Eze to start. It's not a secret that I want Reyes to be captain,
I want Eze to start. But I think Odegaard as well, you've got to give him his props.
Minus the last game, pre-season, Norway, and he's not been bad.
Listen Martin, obviously you came on a lot last season, and one of the things you moaned about
was the style of play. Are you seeing a change in the style of play? Because today,
you know, the first game, this game, way more attacking, you know what I mean? Also the community
shield, a lot more braver from Arsenal, a lot more on the front foot. Do you think the shackles
have kind of come off this season, now that that pressure of getting over the line is gone,
and that we're seeing a better performance, performances in games?
I don't think we're quite there yet, because...
No, not that we're there yet, but are you seeing a difference?
We are, but at the same time, we've actually weakened our attack. In theory, we've weakened
it because our left wingers are both gone, and we've only got Zollis. And I think Zollis has
been great, by the way. There's been times, what do you call it, obviously when he started the
season, the pre-season was good. He's not been amazing, but at the same time, he's there alone
on that left wing, and Califuri's doing his thing on the right wing. Califuri loves doing all of
that, bro. Califuri would make a good left winger, but even then, I'm worried about that, because he
might still end up on the right. The brother likes to just drift, and I rate him as an attacking
player. We can't have him there and then have Zollis track back, bro. He's not Martinelli.
That's where Martinelli really excelled under this Arteta.
I thought Zollis today had done some great defensive work.
I like it, but he's still, bro, he's getting so much pressure put on him. He's been dumped
into a Premier League Champions team. He's alone on the ting, and then Califuri is moving up.
I know, bro, but Califuri can't be doing that, bro.
Why not? I love the way that Califuri has a licence.
No, no, I do, but bro, Pedro Neto, who we don't even want, and we nearly signed,
I like the Neto at Wolves. No, no, listen. He hit the post, bro. This is because Califuri's
on the right. We've got Sakho on the right, bro. Love it. But you're justifying this, like.
I love it.
No, no, but I love it too. No, no, listen.
I love it.
No, no, no, let me land, let me land. We need Califuri to, maybe he's our left winger.
Maybe he's our left winger, as in our backup, but we don't have nobody else. We didn't want
to sign no one else, or whatever it is. So, like, maybe he's our left winger, but listen,
we can't be doing that because Zollis is alone, bro, and it's making Zollis not, he looks okay,
but it makes him look bad because he's not tracking back. But, bro, Califuri's there.
I thought he did track back today, though.
Bro, not enough.
Zollis.
He was tracking back.
But his strength is an attack.
Yeah.
And he looks good as an attacker, but, bro, we can't be having Mandem on the other side
of the bank. It don't work.
It worked today.
Bro, this is challenging.
Three points.
Bro, if you worked today, worked the other night, worked first game, worked community
shield, why would you change him?
Bro, what? Drifting out of position? Bro, if any other player did that, I'll tell you,
we'd bench him then, bro. Look at Eze. Eze, like, if Eze makes a mistake, he's out.
Drifted out of position.
Drifted out of position Monday night.
He's standing next to Sakabo.
He needs to stay in.
He needs to stay in a bit.
Listen, I like Califuri.
He's a sick attacking player.
But, bro, we need some more discipline.
You can't leave the left, like, bro.
He's obviously got a free roll.
No, I hear that.
But, what, Zollis is alone on the left.
What, you want to run him down when he's the only left winger we've got?
I'm saying it's working.
It's working.
The other night.
Some games, but it can't be like that the whole season.
He's done that loads.
Bro, he's done that loads.
Has he not done that loads?
Bro, has he not done that loads, though?
So, if he hadn't have done that the other night, we probably would have drew that game.
Bro, so what?
When we come against a bad boy team in the Champions League.
Like Chelsea.
Who's a bad boy team?
Bro, like, I'm talking about even Champions League.
Anyway, finally, give me your prediction for the Champions League.
Definitely not like the last game, innit?
But we could potentially win there.
I think it might be like a 1-1 draw.
Yeah, it's the way to Naples, bro.
I think it'll be like a 1-1.
I think we'll get that.
But I think the Champions League as well.
We have a very good chance of finishing first again.
But, like, we do need to start our left winger.
And we do need to start our attacker, man.
