Saudi Blocks Israeli Military & Rescue Aircraft From Flydubai Evacuation; MBS Rejects Netanyahu Plea

Saudi Arabia reportedly rejected an Israeli request to send military aircraft into the Kingdom to bring home Israeli passengers after a flydubai flight made an emergency landing in Tabuk following an alleged hijacking attempt. Reuters, citing security sources, reported that Israel was preparing to send Super Hercules aircraft for the passengers, but Riyadh refused to authorize the operation. The passengers were instead flown back to Israel on another flydubai flight. The incident has put the spotlight on the complicated relationship between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which have never established formal diplomatic ties. The development comes as President Donald Trump continues pushing for Saudi Arabia to join the US-brokered Abraham Accords and normalize relations with Israel, while Riyadh has maintained that Palestinian statehood must be part of any such agreement.
