DC weather: Monday rain, wet commute as Hurricane Isaias remnants clear out

4.45, so let's check in and see if it is going to be rain or shine. It's definitely rain right now as it was all day yesterday thanks to Hurricane Isaias coming through. But is she clearing out to bring us some shine, I guess? Well, Isaias is expected to clear on out, so we continue to see some breaks in the clouds here, especially over towards the north and to the west as we continue seeing more of that drier air finally moving on in. So here in Frederick, we're seeing a few breaks in the clouds. Not as much rain either. You can see it's a little bit calmer out there. But one thing for sure is we're still seeing some rain showers throughout most of the area. So we're still expecting a lot of this to still slowly clear on out over the next few hours. Temperature's all around 60 degrees. You can see, though, we are starting to finally have a few breaks in some of this rain coverage. Yesterday was such a mess, but you know what? today we're expecting to have a nicer little setup especially as we head in towards the rest of this afternoon that's where we can start to see some of the clouds breaking up apart and even going towards closer to the evening time frame we may get to a mostly sunny point there as well we are expected to see that we have some cooling temperatures as well as we head into the overnight hours and of course winds do start to slow down as well but heading in towards the rest of this week expect to see that we're not really going to see rain anymore so as soon as this all pushes out to the east we're expected to stay on the drier side of things especially here going in towards the rest of our monday i wouldn't be surprised for tuesday it'd be hard to even find a cloud out there wednesday we see a little bit of clouds here and there but for the most part not expecting much you can see that this one cold front so this new updated model wants to bring in some rain showers ahead of the cold front that we're expecting to see going in towards parts of thursday and friday so i wouldn't be surprised if the timing on this actually moves up a little. So we end up seeing some rain chances going in towards parts of Wednesday evening. Then as we head in towards the rest of the work, we can see that we'll still have some of those lingering rain showers going on through Thursday and Friday. But then we cool down dramatically as we head in towards the weekend here for Saturday and Sunday.
