All right, let's talk about actress Selma Blair,
you know, friend of Good Day New York.
She has pled not guilty to multiple charges after reports of a
violent outburst on a flight from LAX to JFK.
I'm in a really strange situation here.
Let's check in with Robert Moses.
What's going on, Robert?
Dan and Rosanna, Selma Blair is free this morning.
Bail was set at $20,000.
The 54-year-old actress is best known for her roles
in movies like Cruel Intentions and Legally
blonde. Blair walked out of Queens Criminal Court
in Kew Gardens last night. She did not answer
questions shouted at her. She was visibly limping.
Earlier inside the courtroom, she responded to
Judge Indira Khan. Do you understand, Ms. Blair, yes or no?
Do you further understand that you
have no communication or no contact whatsoever with this individual?
Yes, sir. The handcuffed
Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts
of assault after she allegedly kicked a police officer who
was trying to secure her to a stretcher.
And then once she was at Jamaica Hospital in Queens,
Blair also kicked a nurse,
according to the criminal complaint. She faces separate
federal charges for what happened on board
the Delta flight from L.A. to New York Sunday.
Blair allegedly injured two flight attendants.
TMZ reports that she bit one of them in court
last night. Her attorney, Sean Barnes,
said her violence was not intentional. He said that Blair,
who has multiple sclerosis,
missed several doses of a medication that controls severe
neurological symptoms,
and then she boarded the flight from L.A. to JFK Airport after a
heavy workload. Before the plane landed,
one of the pilots asked air traffic controllers to have
medical personnel on standby to meet the plane
to treat the two flight attendants, who you will hear
referred to as FAs. We'd like to have some medical personnel
at the gates for a couple of the FAs
involved in the passenger incident they just need
to get a couple things with that okay um i will
pass it along just get an estimated patient count
for me please how many ambulances will need uh no
ambulances just some medical personnel available
for two flight attendants in 2016 blair was
removed from a flight from cancun
to la on a stretcher after a drunken outburst she later
said that a combination of alcohol
and medication caused her to black out on that flight as for this
most recent case she is due back in court
on the state charges january 19th separately i mentioned
those federal charges which at this point
are still pending she's expected to face those federal
charges in brooklyn on a date that has yet
to be announced dan all right robert thank you very much
for that update
