For syrup: 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup water 1/2 lime, zested and juiced
For Vacation Juice: 3/4 cup cold seltzer 2 TBL syrup 1 1/4 cup ice 1/4 tsp blue drink powder Blue Gel color
For garnish: Lime slices Pineapple Maraschino cherry
For syrup: place sugar and water in a small pot. Grate in half a lime’s worth of zest and juice. Bring to a boil. Take off the heat and refrigerate until cool.
To make a Vacation Juice: Pour 3/4 cups of seltzer into a measuring cup. Add ice until it measures 2 cups. Place in a blender carafe with 2 TBL syrup. Blend until smooth. Fill 1/3 of your glass, reserving the rest in the carafe.
Add drink powder to blender. Blend until combined. Fill the glass another 1/3 up, reserving the rest. Add blue gel color to carafe and blend. Top off the glass with the rest of your mixture. Place a slice of lime and dried pineapple on the rim, and top with a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately. Recipe by Jammy Cooks.
Let's get turned Animal Crossing style with Vacation Juice!
This cocktail starts with a syrup.
In a small pot, go sugar and water.
Next, grate in some lime zest, just about half.
Alright, take your grated half
and then squeeze in the juice too.
Alright, bring this whole thing to a boil
and then take it off the heat.
Strain the whole thing into a bowl
and refrigerate it until cold.
Now, in a measuring cup, pour in 3 quarter cups of seltzer.
Then, add enough ice until it measures 2 cups.
Displacement! I love it!
Pour it into a blender carafe along
with some of that syrup you made.
Blend until smooth.
Alright, to make the layered look,
we're gonna make
this drink in three parts.
Fill your fancy glass with a third of the way up
of this kind of basic color that we've got right
here. Cool. Alright, now add some blue drink mix
to the rest of your mixture and blend. Alright,
fill it up another third of the way up. Lastly,
add a little bit of blue gel to the rest and blend.
Now you can fill up your glass. See,
the color kind of bleeds down and it looks pretty cool.
Garnish with a lime slice, a flower,
this is actually dried pineapple,
and of course a maraschino cherry.
Don't forget a cool straw. On hot summer day, it's mighty refreshing.
Don't let animals drink it because, uh-oh, Charlie, get away.
Uh-oh, he about to do it.
