Fantastic game last night.
If you like zero defense and the two favorites to win the Super Bowl,
looking like they're anything but Super Bowl contenders.
But overtime win for the Buffalo Bills.
But it's the reaction to that game now that has
a lot of people scratching their head.
First of all, the Rams still can't play special teams.
They have no special teams.
It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen, Craig.
They had no special teams last year.
They had no special teams a year prior to that.
They had one job this year, which was to fix the defense.
So they go out and make this splash, right?
They go get Myles Garrett.
They somehow talk Aaron Gordon,
who looks like a guy that retired three years ago
and probably should still be out on the couch, retired.
And they spent all this money.
They all think, guess what?
They still can't play special teams.
They fired their kicker today, Harrison Mevis,
because he was the problem apparently uh and uh
and here they are they let the only two people
that could have beat them last night beat them
in a revamped defense that was supposed to fix
the problem they couldn't beat Seattle last year
because the defense in the back end was terrible
okay and guess what the only guy
that could beat you you allowed him to beat you last night an
overtime loss uh and your special team still isn't fixed two
and three i asked you yesterday what does
it mean you seem to think there's a lot of football left
the warts are growing bigger on this Rams
team every day yeah i still have
no concerns i still think they're gonna make the playoffs i
don't know if they'll get to the Super Bowl i like you
was surprised that they were still favorites
to win the Super Bowl that didn't make any sense
to me still doesn't make any sense to me but as
we talked about yesterday i thought Buffalo had
a good shot to win they did i still think that the
Rams are a great shot to win the Super are they still
the favorites here i can't see that graphic
I apologize, are they, are they still
the current favorites there? I thought this morning it changed
when I look, they moved them finally. Oh yeah, okay yeah
so so I I I think that look, this even goes
back to that game against Philadelphia, Joe, where
they should have lost that game too, I mean that's
the truth also, uh but look, teams have slow starts
the Rams are uber talented, they're going to be
there at the end of the season. Do they look like
the best team in the NFL now? No, it's mid-October
I would suspect that at the end of the season
the Rams will be in the playoff picture. What does it
mean? It's a lot of trouble to win a Super Bowl
if you have to go on the road in the NFC Championship
game, it doesn't matter who you play
and that's going to be an issue for the Rams, there's no
question about it because the Rams
in all likelihood are not going to be the best team
in the NFC and probably not the second best team in the NFC
but as we talked about the other day
and I'll say it again, uh you know both conferences have issues
but the NFC in particular, the NFC East
has no good teams whatsoever, the South
the best team looks like Carolina and that's saying
something, the best, the best teams in the conference
are in the West, I I think so, I really do, I mean
Green Bay, I'm not sure, and the Bears, I I still
gonna stay, I I still believe the Bears at the
end of the season are going to be one of the best teams in the NFC
but they haven't shown that either
it's an absolute mess now, if things were different
if Green Bay got off to a uh four and one start
uh because I don't trust Minnesota, maybe you do, I don't know
but if Green Bay got off to a four
and one start along with Chicago getting off to four one start
and Dallas being four and one
or the Giants having a start and being four
and one like they have not played them their way out of
anything, I know what the optics are, I'm watching
the same game as you, if they had to play the Super Bowl
tomorrow I wouldn't pick them, but but they don't
and so when I look at that list there of of teams
I mean I I think I may trust Carolina more than all
those teams that are above them like
the 49ers have been, have played like a team uh
in a class by themselves, but beyond that
Seattle, Minnesota, Detroit, the Bears
but I mean Dallas is in there of course because
the odds makers get scared, but everyone's gonna
bet Dallas obviously, I don't trust Philly
and um yeah that's that's that I I haven't changed
my, I look, I I didn't, I don't know who I picked the
beginning of the season but it wasn't the Rams
to win the Super Bowl but I'm still gonna project
them to make the playoffs and win a game in the playoffs
and maybe win a couple games in the
playoffs I uh I I see the same thing you
do they don't look good I did Steelers you picked yeah
apparently you picked the Steelers is what they're no I'm only kidding
Thank
you.
