Man stabbed in torso on platform of Van Nest subway station

And we are following breaking news this morning. One person recovering after being stabbed on a subway platform. News 12's Jonathan Calixto is outside of that station with the very latest. Well, we now know from police that a 24 year old man was rushed to the hospital after he was stabbed in the torso here while on the platform of the two train at the Van Ness subway station. Investigators are now working to determine what led up to that attack. Now police tell us this all happened just before midnight on Tuesday on the northbound platform of the 2 train at East 180th Street. We're told the victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. So far, no arrests have been made. Police sources tell us the victim has not been cooperating with the investigation. Now, this all comes as transit crime in this neighborhood continues to trend upwards. According to police data, transit crime has increased by more than 11 percent, with 38 incidents reported this year compared to 34 during the same time last year. That's the latest here in Van Ness.
