AI GeneratedThe broadcast begins with a brief discussion on space exploration and Mars rovers before transitioning to a detailed weather forecast for Central Florida. The region expects a warm, muggy period followed by a significant cold front on Friday, leading to cooler temperatures and dangerous surf conditions along the Atlantic coast over the weekend.
Air and space also down here on Earth with our own weather changes.
That's remarkable.
And the fact that we put a rover on Mars successfully,
I mean, in itself is amazing.
Oh, yeah.
It looks like a star in the sky.
And then we have this thing that can then drive on Mars.
It's incredible.
That's cruising, right?
Yeah.
It's like Jeep Beach Week on Mars.
It's like all over.
Tops down, baby.
Let's go.
What's going on today?
So we've got some weather changes ahead.
It's going to be on the warmer side next couple of days.
Then a big cold front coming in on Friday
is going to change our pattern for the weekend.
Okay.
And if you want to go beaching, well, there could be some problems.
It's going to be wavy.
There's not going to be much beach to be found with the onshore flow.
72 degrees downtown.
We've got a mostly clear sky.
Let's talk weather headlines.
Warmer and a touch muggier today and tomorrow.
Scattered storms on Friday with a cold front,
and that's going to lead to dangerous weekend beach waves.
Now, a heads up, we've got the Daytona Beach
Biketoberfest kicking off this weekend,
and so there's going to be a lot of folks in town from out of town,
and so they may not be familiar with the ins
and outs of our beach hazards
when it gets wavy like it's going to get with this onshore flow.
We've got a couple of light showers by the Space Coast.
If you get one, you're lucky, but the best chance will be in Volusia
and Brevard Counties this morning.
Had a couple of brief showers making it all
the way into Seminole County overnight,
but they were highly isolated and very brief,
in and out within five minutes.
73 in Orlando right now.
It's on the cooler side of Gainesville now at 62.
The warmer weather is moving in from the southeast.
There may be some patchy fog a little bit later
this morning across north central Florida.
Dew points now are back in the muggy range,
and that will be the case for the next day or two
ahead of that cold front coming in for Friday.
All right, it is October 14th.
It's a Wednesday.
Let's get you out the door.
We're going to go from 73 degrees at 6
to a low of 72 around 7 to 8 o'clock
and then back up to 79 by 10.
Sun coming out in one fast high today, 90.
It will be 88 in Orlando, 88 in Clermont, and about 87 in Gainesville.
So let's talk about the big weekend cold front coming in.
So this, I say it's a big weekend cold front.
It's not big in the sense that we have to worry about cold weather,
but it will have an impact on our temperatures.
Oftentimes, it's time of the year.
Cold front means it'll just be drier air, but still hot.
Now, this time, it's actually going
to knock our temps down about 10 degrees
from highs of 90 to highs in the upper 70s to around 80.
On Friday, we'll have scattered showers and storms.
And then come Saturday, the front moves through,
and the winds will really start to kick up.
We're going to have a mix of clouds and sun,
A couple of showers, especially by the coast.
A rainy weekend on tap for South Florida.
Miami to the Keys.
Looks like it's going to rain for most of the weekend for us.
It's going to be fast-moving showers coming in off of the Atlantic.
And gusty winds over 35 miles per hour.
Daytona Beach, a live view.
Things are calm now.
But for Saturday and Sunday, it's going to be a different story.
And our waves will go from 1 to 3 feet.
And then after the front, they're really going to kick up.
They could go from 10 to 15 feet this weekend.
And that may not be crashing waves at the beach at 15 feet,
But just offshore, the swell waves
in the surf zone could be like 6 to 12 feet.
Still very dangerous.
The best place to go if you have family beach plans
is going to be on the Gulf Coast this weekend
from Caladesi, Anclote, Honeymoon, Clearwater,
all the way down through St. Pete Beach and into Sarasota and beyond
because they'll have an offshore flow,
so it'll be flat for those Gulf Coast beaches.
Here's what it's going to look like.
It's going to be also kind of a mix of clouds and sun this weekend.
Windy conditions Saturday and Sunday especially.
about a 40 percent chance for some rain coming in off the water high temps
though will be more comfortable
highs in the upper 70s to around 80
so as far as just being out and about it's going to feel
pretty decent i think just wind rain chances aside it's just going
to look unsettled this
weekend that's going to be a big change for us all right
no tropical activity to report despite the
big waves rolling in that's some good news let's talk about
our seven day forecast 88 today 89
degrees tomorrow and on friday friday a 60 percent chance for rain
and then this weekend highs around 80
windy conditions and then slowly moderating heat
by the middle of next week this is also the time
of year that the rest of the country starts really cooling down
and things here kind of start staying
the same all right let's get to our snap the sun
this morning that's why we love it here's a shot
from jenny and okaiba some beautiful clouds illuminated
from below and we'd love to share
your photos scan that qr code upload your photos there
and we will share them here on
Good day, Orlando.
